THURSDAY--VACATION DAY 1

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

THURSDAY--VACATION DAY 1

Postby Nasoosie » Thu Feb 11, 2010 9:06 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!!

It's about 5 above zero and snowling lightly here this morning.

Sure did feel good to luxuriate in my bed all morning with hot coffee, watching Early Today and the Today Show, with Molly enjoying my being here, too. How I wish I could deal with all mornings like this!

I need to make some phone calls today to try to get some quotes for the lowest insurance possible for my truck and my trailer, and ask NY State Teachers' Retirement if I were to get any incentive or buy-out money, if it would count as part of my final year's salary. If it would, it would boost my monthly retirement income by a bit. And every bit is a help when you have no savings or backup money. Having work days off is nice for making contacts like that. I also need to work on my Ruckus webpage and update it.

If it warms up enough today, I will ski for a bit, and go grocery shopping, and check out some of the Carnival events. If it doesn't warm up much, I will do all but ski, as the cold makes it hard for me to breathe out there.

Tomorrow I will be looking forward to watching the Opening Ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics. Hope you all are careful digging out from Part Number II of the blizzards, and that you have power to stay warm and cozy. I'll check back later to see what's up with you all! Coffee is hot, so sit a while and let us know what's up!

Happy travels!

It is 0 degrees right now, here. I had to park outside last night since my garage door opener didn't work at my apartment yesterday. Will get it replaced today. But the drive in was very cold!

Coming in to work (the office job) was a waste of time since I have nothing to do. All my clients are out East (New Jersey) and their offices are closed today, so no work coming in for me. Probably will head back home soon and take a nap on the couch with Mocha. Zoey will not allow Mocha on the bed at all so she sleeps on the chair in the living room. I feel bad because I was really looking forward to having a kitty to snuggle up with in bed. But Zoey rules the roost (ie. bed) so Mocha won't go near it.

Hope everyone has a good day and stays warm and dry!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Happy school break Soos!! Be sure and enjoy each and every single minute of it! Get things done that you haven't had time for. Splurge and buy you some of those pistachio muffins you like so much! Just make sure that you don't over do and have to go back to work to rest up!

Brrr is chilly last night. Or at least I was. Went to go to bed and sure didn't waste any time getting under them blankies after getting undressed. I asked Kelly what the temp was as she was still in the screen house on her laptop. She said that Yahoo reported it at 51f here for Blythe? Huh?? Me thinks someone misread the thermometer!!! Sure felt cooler than that. Now it says it's 47 and it still feels cooler than that. What's up with that? But it will get better as the sun is shining and about ready to clear the trees. Temps are suppose to go up in the 70's this week! WooHoo! Oh yeah bring it on.

Nothing exciting going on here. Will go do a couple of loads of laundry out and pick up a head of cabbage. We bought a corned beef brisket and I want to throw it in the crockpot tomorrow morning. Oh Yum! My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Gonna have to run a sweep on my laptop at some point today. Got up this morning at about 6:45am and it has locked up and froze on me twice. ~sigh~ Free wifi in the campground is free? But the dang thing keeps dropping. Arrrrgh! I shouldn't complain at all but it is go aggravating and frustrating! Right in the middle of something and I lose connection. grrrrr

Well coffee is hot and I have some to share if'in your interested? Set a spell and let us know what's going on in your little corner! Please be safe in all that you do. If your in the snowzone be extra careful. Was reading the headlines for the mid-atlantic last night and one of them was saying something about another storm in the making that they were watching and worried about! Just what that area needs, another storm! :? :(

Love to all

Good morning Ladies. I have been up for awhile, did some reading this morning and have been checking emails and reading on facebook. Had a couple of good conversations with friends. It is always good to get caught up with each other. Ron is busy building a shelf in the storage unit. When he is done with that I will be going over to help move stuff from the small unit to the large unit. It will be so good when we are done with this project.

The weather here is chlly this morning and it has been raining off/on. Wish the sun would come back out.

Soos..have a good long weekend and good luck with all your phone calls.

Those of you in the line of the storms hope you are staying safe and warm.

Everyone have a great day. Talk to you all again soon.

Here's what the east coast has been dealing with. Yeah, it looks pretty in pictures. But I'm about done with snow for the rest of my life!

Oh those snow pictures! That's just awful. The main reason we left the Chicago area!

Hey, Soos, I keep forgetting to ask you - do you have a gas or electric furnace as a supplement to your woodburning?

Stay warm, ladies. Spring is on its way.

OMG Paulette, way too much snow. Did you shovel all that yourself? My muscles hurt just thinking about it. I see some pavement showing so that is good. Keep on top of the melting and freezing, we don't want you slipping and sliding and getting hurt.

Soos, hope you get everything straightened out that needs doing. Enjoy your weekend.

Weather wise, we are back to normal here, sunny and in the low 40's. Take care all. Linda

Nope, nope, nope! It's pretty to look at but don't want none of that stuff for me. I know Philly got hammered too. Zee said her hubby was without power as he lost it last night so was gathering up a pile of blankies. The snow was to bad for him to get to the barn and the genny. OMG I hope everyone plays it smart in that mess.

OH, Paulette, those pics are beautiful! And as long as they stay in pics only I wouldn't mind, but like you, I wouldn't want to have to live in that "beauty" for very long.

Oh, come on - you could stare at my picture every day! That'd provide your needed beauty fix...
(now there's a door left wide open if I ever saw one...)

Vicki, are you getting ready for the snow? Someone needs to grab hold of that jet stream and yank it up (northwards) a notch or two. Shirl, I'm with you...Don't care if I see another flake (of snow) again in my life!

We had a few snow flurries this morning but most of it stayed in the top part of the parish and northward. I get excited like a little kid when I see snow!
