GOOD MORNING ALL!!
It's about 5 above zero this morning, with a very light dusting of new snow. I hope all of you in the blizzard belt have been able to keep your power, or have it restored by now, if you lost it. I see by the news that it's not an easy snow to remove from your cars, or from anywhere, as it's heavy with ice mingled into it afer the temperatures fell. I hate to say it, but they are predicting more snow following pretty much the same pattern as this last snow for tomorrow night into Wednesday. It's not as big a storm, as yet, anyway, but nothing to look forward to right on the heels of that doozy of the past few days! Please be very careful to rest often while shoveling, as it's a notorious activity to cause cardiac problems, or at least bring them into view, particularly if you tend to be a sedentary person ordinarily. Moderation is the word here!
We have three days of school this week, and then two off for Winter Carnival plus Presidents' Day on Monday. I am really looking forward to those five days off. I hope to get some good pictures of some of the events, if it's warm enough to travel around to watch them. I will for sure get some pics of the ice castle, and of our parade.
I guess that New Orleans won last night, as I see lots of celebration happening on Bourbon Street. Congratulations to them!
I watched a program on Martin Luther King rather than the football.....it was very well done, and I had forgotten just how violent things got back then in the 60s. I think I had my head in the clouds, or something...or perhaps just living out in the woods with no TV and no radio insulated me against what was going on. I lived in a tent in the middle of nowhere for 6 months in 1963, and came into civilization only after my German Shepherd dog, Midnight, was shot and killed by a hunter. 1963 became a year that would live in infamy for me, with the slaying of JFK along with my beloved dog companion.
Time for coffee here now, and then off to see what today will bring. We won't get our new student until the 22nd, for some reason, as he's just being shipped over from the Middle School. I hope you all stop by and tell us what's going on in your world.

good morning
back to work, seemed like a long weekend for me. I sat down to do my taxes yesterday
and low and behold, I left my statement in my folder on my bus. Guess I'll have to wait
til next weekend.
Nothing to add here, coffee is good though.
Have a great day and be safe.

We are in the middle of a snowstorm today. It is suppose to keep snowing thru tomorrow now. Up to a foot total. It was a slow drive into work but I made it. Now I don't have any work to do for a few hours, so just killing time. Just finishing up my chocolate covered donut and French Vanilla Cappuccino.
Hope everyone is doing OK out east digging out! This has been a long, strange winter so far!

Sitting in a Meineke repair shop. They are my go to car place ever since they told me I didn't need new brakes on a car that I brought in thinking I needed new brakes. I am hoping that they can fix the windshield wipers that stopped working on Sat. Am watching the weather reports for the coming week. I need to be in Indianapolis by early Thursday AM. I friend and I are splitting a Red Roof in room. Just too cold to stay in the RV. MAy drive over on Wednesday if the weather looks like it will be saver to drive that day. Izzy is entered for all four days (T,F, S, S)
On another note: Sat I borrowed the husband's car and took myself down to the Cincinnati RV Show. Okay it wass nothing like Tampa...never has been but I did notice that they had many more smaller TT, 5th wheels and a few class C's. Only a small selection of the giant Class A's. Definitely a change from years past.
Enjoy your day, travel safe and keep your dreams alive

Good morning travel pals! I'm home in CA with my frustrating ATT air card! It is giving me fits. Took 4 MINUTES to load my home page. I can read to keep up on my cell phone, but won't be posting much, except maybe at coffee shop. In solidarity with all of you in the snow, I headed upcountry yesterday for a couple hours snow shoeing! It was a fabulous afternoon. Will post pics to my blog when I get to the coffee shop.
Keep warm!!

What a surprise! It is snowing hard here and building up fast. Forecast was for rain, not snow. I was standing at the door just enjoying the beauty of it when I suddenly remembered I have doctor appointment this afternoon for cancer screening test results. That could be bad news as I live on a steep hill and not sure if I will chance keeping the appointment as I may not be able to get back home if this keeps up. I don't drive in snow or ice. So far no roads closed that I know of anyway. What to do? Hopefully it will warm up a few more degrees and change back to just rain before I have to decide.
Still have not taken my van to shop - no heat.
Started sorting a nasty pile of papers I've let built up. Could get buried in them, like one of the hoarders on TV. How does this happen so quickly? UGH!
Hope each of you have a safe and warmer day.

I'm still at the hospital with my son. Talk about having cabin fever, I feel like a caged animal. He is doing good and we are hoping they will let us go today. They watch his blood levels closely and want the numbers at a certain level. It is suppose to snow another foot starting tomorrow afternoon and go thru Wednesday. I don't want to have to get out in snow tomorrow. Don't know when I will be able to go home.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!
Ahhhhh Monday, it really isn't as bad as all the hype would have ya believe. The worst part is that ya have to go back to work after having the time off to relax, enjoy free time and recenter your spirit.
Not much doing here. Did the dishes up yesterday and of course now I have more to do.
I need to put air in my mattress today and remake my bed. ?? For whatever reason I tore up all my bed last night. Have no idea why but my blankies are every which way? Except for once waking up to go potty in the middle of the night, I slept like a dead thing. And the blankies were just fine in the middle of the night when I got up. So between that time and waking up I must have tossed and turned or had nightmares the rest of the night. Sure don't remember!
Soos you are driving me crazy with your little snippets of your younger days! I can hardly wait until I meet you and get the chance to sit and talk. Probably will have to spend a month of sitting around a campfire with you and just listening!!
Tina, just maybe the RV industry have been paying attention to what people want and can afford? I know people sell off everything they own and can buy the big monster motor coaches but there's a whole lot of people out there who can't or don't want to sink everything they have into a high end RV. Better to buy smaller one they can live and work with and hold on the rest of the money! I know a lot of the bigger and more expensive RV's are out there but there's a whole lot more of the ? practical one's on the road.
Dang Philly is getting buried up there. That and the other areas around there. Sarah are you sure your still living in AL? Martha have still got my fingers crossed that things will be good so that your son can get out of the hospital and you can get home! Crazy, crazy weather. Temps here are suppose to be in the mid 60's, rain on Wednesday again and then warm up to the 70's by Thursday. I can deal with that! As much as I love the snow it's self I hate the aftermath!
Time to pour another cup of coffee, have some to share if your interested. Hope everyone has a good day and please be careful and safe!
Love to all

Hi all...I'm late for the east coast, but maybe it's still morning somewhere.
Soos, like Echo, I enjoy your stories of life in the 60's....wonder what it waslike to live in a tent in the woods for 6 months, etc. Looking forward to your Carnival pics. Reminds me of the Dartmouth College Ice sculptures I enjoyed in my youth.
Martha, hope you and your son get out of "captivity" soon. Glad he is doing well.
Diana, I'd have enjoyed snowshoeing with you...for a little while anyway. That was always my favorite winter activity in Vt. Never did learn to ski well.
Best of luck to Izzy!
Sarah, hope it's safe for you to go out for your dr. appt. I know how it is waiting for results. If you can't get there, maybe you can set up a telephone conference to get the results?
My day is taken up with church-related activities. Our Christian Women's fellowship meets this afternoon, and my job is to prepare the devotional lesson. Since it's February, I chose a Valentines theme..."If you love me....feed my sheep." We'll use scripture and real life examples to discuss ways to serve others with love. I also have a Bible study tonight that I haven't finished my homework for. So need to work on that next.
All of you in the snowstorm's path, please be careful. Thursday I go to GA to take care of gds while my dd & sil go to a wedding in Maryland. I worry about them having to drive perhaps in those snowy conditions.
