Good morning ladies
finally saturday and just planning my day of routine chores when suddenly I remembered,
ohhhhhhhhh, I have to be at work at 8, :x some special training thingy I signed up for
just to get the hours. Its not mandatory but its 3 hours of pay and to top it off, when
I filled out my time sheet yesterday, hehehe, its overtime, hehehe.
Wondering what the storm back east did, will have to catch the news this evening. Hope
the forum sisters out that way are all warm and safe.
Coffee is on and I've got to get the dogs fed and then get ready for work. I'll catch up
on new posts later in the day.
Have a good day and be safe.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

I am hoping you in the south are able to still have power and that the heavy wet snow hasn't caved in any roofs or knocked over any trees. It's that horrid wind that I hear is picking up and gusting to over 45 mph now that I worry about even more than the snow. Please check in today, if you have the ability to do so, and let us know how you are doing! The storm is only half over!

It's about 5 below zero here today, and I need to rebuild my woodstove fire----I slept so soundly last night that I failed to feed it all night long----just a few dim embers left in there right now. It looks as if it'll be a sunny day for us, which a good thing as the southern sun, still low in its travel orbit at this season, should shine right into my huge glass windows in this living room and help to warm us up!

All I really have to do is laundry either today or tomorrow----I still haven't filled even one tall kitchen bag of rubbish since the kids left here right after New Year's Day, so no dump run is needed. I guess Molly and I are very frugal about what we throw away! Of course, I do burn all the paper stuff!

Our famous Panda Bears which China loaned to us for a while, have gone back to China to make new little panda bears now. It must have been such a sad farewell for those who took care of them at our zoo all these years. One has the same name as one of my most roubled students, Tyshaun. Come to think of it, he DOES look like a chocolate version of a cute, chubby panda bear!

Time to read other posts and my email-----coffee is freshly brewed and nice and hot. Please PLEASE be careful shoveling all that heavy snow----it is one of the most stressful exercises a body can do, as you all know, I hope.

Happy Saturday to us all!

Rain, rain and more rain!!! Rained all night, back half acre is flooded again and so is the road. Kind of windy, too. I pretty much packed the truck yesterday, but still need to load the cooler and put Peewee on the trailer. We're supposed to get a break about 10, so hopefully I won't have to load in the rain. BF is leaving from his house about 8, so by the time I get up there he should have the toy trailer all set up and ready. It's not supposed to rain up there until this afternoon, so if I get lucky I'll manage to get in and get settled and stay dry. If not, at least I have good rain gear. I'll be gone 8 days with no phone or internet, there's no service there unless I get up on a mountain, so not even going to take the computer. You guys be good, stay safe and warm and I'll see you in a week.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Dang up early again. Got up at 6:30 and here I am finally getting around to post for the morning coffee. Yep my pot is ready and have enough to share too.

Chilly and overcast this morning again. Suppose to get some rain today and tonight? They said that the other day too but never saw any so will have to wait and see. Temps are suppose to be in the 60's during the day for the week and in the mid to low 40's at night. A whole lot better than the snow they got back east! Hope everyone in that storm and in the path of it are doing ok and getting prepared. Paulette needs to check in and let us know how she made out.

Made a huge batch of tuna and noodles last night for supper. Oh Yum! It was so good. Did it up in the crockpot, all except for the noodles. Cooked them on the campstove then added them to the crockpot. I know what lunch is gonna be. Sure wish I had a small fridge or at least another 12v cooler. My poor 12v cooler is jammed packed. I really like that cooler and it's seen a whole lot of miles as I use to carry it on the truck. Saved on eating in restaurants all the time. And sure the heck couldn't be beat for when I got stuck at a shipper or receivers. Nothing to eat there except garbage out of the machines. Blech

Nothing really planned for today but we might go do laundry. Need to get out sweats and long sleeved stuff washed if nothing else. ;) I do need to brush Shade out again today. Oh the excitement I don't know how we handle it.  Hope everyone has a good day and make sure you all stay safe!

Love to all

Echo----what kind of a 12v. cooler do you have? Maybe a picture of it, too???

Sharon, sure hope you can get out of there for your trip to the sand dunes before you get washed away! BE CAREFUL!

People down south are totally buried in snow, and the winds have picked up significantly recently. Several states have declared states of emergency. Please check in, y'all, if you are able.....and later, when you are able to again. PLEASE be careful and stay put wherever you are, unless the rains are threatening to wash you out!

Still a nice, calm, bright, sunny day up here in the mountains of the Adirondacks----we are so lucky to have missed this latest snow event.

Hey Soos, I have a Coleman 40qt thermoelectric cooler. It's an older model so I don't know if it's still available? But WalMart does have this one which is the newest model and their price is way better than the Coleman site price. And the 110ac power converter comes with it.

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Coleman-Power ... ly/4810828

Actually I wish they made bigger ones cause with packing groceries in there for the 2 of us is tight. They are really good but ya can't leave them plugged into your vehicle for a long time as they 'will' run your vehicle battery down. Hate to say it but a regular cooler with ice, is still best if you are camped for a day or two without ele available. Me? As long as I have ele I would really like a small fridge. LOL

Really, really burns my butt that WalMart can sell this whole setup cheaper in the store than what Coleman it's self will offer it. I don't care if WalMart does buy in volume! Coleman products from the Coleman website should be cheaper. Go figure. There have been a couple irate emails from me to Coleman about that. He77 WalMart even sells Colman stuff cheaper than what the prices are at the Coleman Outlet stores themselves!!! :x

Just sat here and watched it snow most of the day. I think it finally moved off. There's about 18" but I haven't been out in it. This is the most snow I have ever seen in person. I prefer to see it on TV.

My opinion on things that are sold at Wal-Mart for a cheaper price is that the mfg's make special runs for Wal-Mart. I have a fishing friend that looked into fishing and boating equipment and the things sold at Wal-Mart and the same things sold at sporting good stores were not the same. Wal-Mart reels have plastic gears and the more expensive reels have metal gears. I don't know that this is true for all things but sounds about right to me.

It's the snow beautiful when it covers everything and you don't see the dirt of city life tho?

Yeah I can believe that about WalMart stuff. But I've had this cooler for ? 8 or 9 yrs now and it's still runs great. The parts of the little cooling stuff and far are really easy to get too.

Nasty that I can be sometimes I could imagine myself asking the salesperson in Dick's Sporting Goods what the difference is between the two coolers other than the price. ;)
