WARM SATURDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

WARM SATURDAY

Postby Nasoosie » Sat Jan 16, 2010 7:47 am

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Another warm day up here----about 28 degrees----perfect ski weather. After I use my inhalers for a while this morning, I think Molly and I will head out to my ski trails to snowshoe on them, pack them, and make them skiable.

Until then, I plan to head back into my warm sleeping bag on my 8 inches of memory foam matress, and watch the news while I sip my coffee. Great sadness that the 11-year-old girl that rescue crews freed up yesterday died a few hours later due to no medical help on the ground. (Probably infection, or perhaps she needed a transfusion to keep her alive, or whatever.) Antibiotics are SO cheap and SO easy to ship and SO easy to administer. What is up with the lack of those very important life-savers?

But, they also found an 18-month old little girl who was pulled out in good condition just recently.

Sure does make my cold seem very trivial. It is no worse, and perhaps a bit better. Time and inhalers will tell!

Stop by, have some coffee, and let us know what's up in your world. Happy Saturday and long weekend to us all.

Happy travels!

All is well here on my side of the Adirondacks.

Had a great night of basketball last night, as I went to the boy's games. Looks like we're "carry'ing it on" with our school's basketball tradition of having great teams. I knew the girls were strong but the boys are good too,... with their powerhouse only a junior,... we keep him another year! :D

Today is housecleaning, laundry, and a dump run. Tonight we're going to see the Too Tall String Band in the next town at a coffee house type evening. They play a mix of Celtic, Adirondack, Bluegrass and Country. You can check out Rod Driscoll on Myspace for some samples.

OK,... time to finish this cup of coffee and get at my chores... :D

Have a great day everyone!

Raining here in FL but much warmer than last week. We will be unhooking and heading south in another hour or so. I wouldn't want to move toooo fast. :) Will grab some tea and a bagel and finish catching up on the news.

Morning,
It's still raining here and probably will keep it up till around July!
In about an hour or so I head north on glorious I-5 to Kalama to watch my 9 yr old GD's BB game. Then at 1 & 3 in Kelso, further up I-5, is my 8 yr old GDs bb games. It's her first year of playing so I haven't seen her yet. She actually has two today, back to back. Should be fun1
Other than that, nothing new to report!
Wishing everyone that's under the weather to get well, & those traveling to stay safe!

Mornin Sistahs :D

Just left the welcome center in Lordsburg, NM. That was nice with heated restrooms. Have something like 390 miles or so to go. Mom's goin away at a carrot cake and I'm lettin my coffee cool. Not sure what time we'll roll into Yuma, probably about 7 or so with potty and food stops. Just passed over the AZ state line. Mom didn't want to stop when we did laste nite but AZ has closed all of their rest stops. Cold last nite. It dropped from 45 at about 10 to 37 by midnite and then 30 at about 1:30. At the moment it's 44. Mom says at one point I woke her up snoring. That I was making all kinds of weird noises in my sleep. Told me I'm not allowed to razz her anymore about her snoring.

Hope everyone has a good day, has safe travels and has better road coffee than I did yesterday!

Good afternoon sistah's. Just finished the chores. Since the snow has melted I found many places where I needed to pick up after the puppies. The were doing their business where ever they could because of the drifts and depth of snow. Can't blame them, if ya gotta go ya gotta go. :D

Lenora and Cedar you sure are busy with the grandkids sports. I'm sure they appreciate the support.

Echo and Wicked, sounds like you are moving right along. Where will you be staying in Yuma? Arizona has just closed more state parks recently, so pickins might be slim. Drive carefully.

Soos, nice new picture.

Soos, nice pic! Looks so different from your other one.

We are experiencing a messy January thaw. Feels so much better than last week! Plus the sun is out!

I went to that RV show yesterday north of the Twin Cities. They pretty much just have travel trailers and 5th wheels but it was fun to look at them all anyways. I did notice that they seem smaller inside in person than on the internet. The new ones seem to all have a regular kitchen table and chairs now instead of the dinette. How do you keep them from flying around while driving down the road?? I like the dinettes better. Got a free hotdog, chips, pop (soda, to you southerners!) and mini donuts. So that made the trip worthwhile! One of the salesmen took me out to the 'back 40' to see a used class C but after all that long, cold, slushy walk, it turns out he had the wrong keys and we couldn't get in. It was newer and they are asking $36,000 so it was out of my price range anyways. Got my fresh air and exercise for the day tho!

Kitty update: the vet thinks the kitty is pregnant but will check her in another two weeks to see for sure, so I don't get to bring her home yet. However, I am going over to see her shortly and take some photos of her, so I will post those. If she is pregnant, I will wait until after she has the kittens and then either take her or one of the kittens.

Have a great day everyone!

After hours and hours of rain here in Waco yesterday, today is sunny and warm - around 53. Got up this morning to go get my rental car, took forever they were really busy. Toured the Texas Ranger museum - very interesting. Then hit Wal Mart to re-stock some fresh food etc and went to sonic for lunch. Can't fit there when in the rig and we don't have those in my home town, so it was good - cranberry limeade - delicious. Got back to cg, which is COE and is just as great as the one I stayed at near Little Rock last year. Had conversation with worker - they have been workamping for 17 years! At COE cg they sign a contract for specific amount of time, with hours worked etc. This one is Oct thru Mar but they are going to KY next for 2 years. Hee they work 3 days and have 4 off and another couple work 4 and have 3 off - I could SO do that. Also told me about a volunteer spot in a TX state park - I think she said Lake somerville - where you get your site, all hook ups and free laundry for 20 hours work per week helping clean brush etc from the hiking trails. My cup of tea, exactly. I am definitely going to start looking for camp host kind of jobs for next year. Did some housekeeping chores around the rig so I can spend the day in Austin tomorrow. Sharon (Sprinter) is driving over from Kerrville to meet me and we're both looking forward to that. I will post pics when I have more reliable inernet. Spent 30 minutes or so typing a blog entry the other day and then lost the whole thing. Port A on Monday and their internet is steady. I'll be there a month.
