2010!! Rabbits!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

2010!! Rabbits!

Hope everyone enjoyed ringing in the New Year.
Me? I spent most of the night with a frightened dog as fireworks are legal in WA and people aren't bashful about shooting them off hours before midnight and a couple hours after!
Will probably watch some of the parade on TV and catch some of the Rose Bowl as Oregon has a team playing this year.
Coffee is on!

Here I was thinking being up so early I would maybe be the first one in for coffee.

I am the second one...but I have to wonder..if both us Washingtonioans are the first in here this am...
Exactly how much fun did the East Coast Sistah's have last night.

I have some French Toast Sticks and breakfast pockets...great for a breakfast on the go.
We are off to Mt Baker today in search of snow...I am sure we will find plenty of it.

yes,... wild party here until way after midnight!

Now the truth.... :D I did stay up until midnight to watch the ball drop. Then three of us from ORS were in our chat room for about 5 min. to see Times Square and wish each other happy new year,.... then to bed. snooze and snore time! Not too exciting, eh?

today I'll go to a 90th b'day party for the mother of one of my life-long friends. I grew up eating her molasses cookies! can't believe she's 90, but if I'm 67 it shouldn't be a surprise. but then there are times I'm surprised I'm 67!

Hope you all have a great new year's day!

RABBITS and HAPPY 2010!!!

It's 27 degrees here this morning, with some pretty, light snow falling---all in all, a perfect wintery January day. I can't believe I stayed up to see the ball drop with Cedar and Pete in the ORS chatroom, while my kids phoned me as it was dropping, and we all shouted RABBITS! before HAPPY NEW YEAR! (At least that was the first word out of my mouth on this brand new month, year, and decade! ) Here's hoping it will bring me unending luck all year 'round!

Molly is playing with one of her new toys she got from Mema, patiently waiting for breakfast, as it's very late for us to get up! My brother also called me last night, after some neighbors they had over for an early party left, having to walk down his STEEP paved driveway covered with about two inches of ice in the Philly area. He had to first salt the entire driveway so they could even get down to where they had parked their cars. So he has to battle ice to get to and from his house in the winter, and I have to battle mud to get to and from my house in the spring!

Plans for today are to ski the trails with Molly until the kids get back from Potsdam, which, I suspect, will NOT be very early, as they were partying hardy when they called at midnight. I will backpack some antifreeze to the Kicker, in case it's a lack of enough water/coolant that might overheat it. I am so worried that the engine might have gotten too hot and seized up. Sigh----my dream off-road car!

I am also going to roast a turkey today, stuffing, and all. That will make a good meal for tonight, with plenty of leftovers for the next couple of days.

I wish I could have been somewhere where there was dancing going on. Saranac Lake had a first night celebration I could have gone to, but in years past, when I went alone, it was just no fun. I did see and hear the fireworks that ended the night from my front deck, (reflection in the overcast sky) so that was my only participation in those festivities. I am far enough away from them that it doesn't hurt my ears here, too! Plus the Blue Moon was a beautiful sight, even behind the icy snow clouds, as it was sporting a moon dog----not as brilliant as the other night, but very festive!

I hope you all will have a great first day and will check in here for some hot coffee and shared talk. I'll be on and off most all day.

Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

I even remembered "Rabbits" this morning :) I am quite proud of myself!....looking forward to the month coming and the new year. EXCITED.....with shopping and packing for FL :D :D Still planning on leaving sometime Monday. The drop in temps into the teens helps inspire me, too! And I know (because a caring BluePineCone sis'tar made me read the forecasts) that below average temps are expected across the south also...sigh. But I figure that chilly for FL is still better that freezing near Cincinnati....see ya soon on a Silver River...... Enjoy some goodies, don't run off too fast, but enjoy the day where ever you are and whatever you are up to!

Good-morning !! From not so sunny Florida. I am at my sisters in the center of the state for a few last days visit then heading to cold Ocala area. Have one more friend from Vermont down I will visit before heading to the GTG. I am so excited in meeting new Sistahs and seeing those I have met, again.

While here have decided I will buy new tires for my rig, before heading home where places to buy tires that large are hard to find. Getting a little leary of these, long ways home, they look great, good tread, but dates are scary!!!

Had a great Christmas in southern part of the state with my daughter and family. Children are growing, older grandson is wayyyyy taller then me and only 14. I bought myself a terrific Christmas present, a new camera. Now this next year will see if I can learn to post pics. If and when I can make another trip such as this one, which has been absolutely awesome, I may be able to share some of it with all of you.

I need to check my propane before getting to Silver River as the temps are predicted to be
low and heaters will be needed to keep the pipes from freezing. I suspect days will be ok though, for those of us who are used to colder temps anyway. Its sure to be a fun time, whatever the weather is !!!!

I hope you all have a Great New Year, with many many travels ahead

God Bless,
Carol

:D I remembered RABBITS!!!!
Good morning and Happy New Year
I saw the ball drop in NYC, 10 my time though, but that was good enough for me.
Fell asleep then woke up at 2:30, finally got up at 3. Watched the festivities from
other cities on the news, Las Vegas was spectacular!
Lots of fireworks from the indian reservation, and those started way early in the
evening. The girls must really be getting used to them because they aren't afraid
of them anymore. Gracie used to run and hide and just tremble.
Will have to put my christmas decoration away today, only got one out this year,
my silk poinsettia, very big and it just looked lovely out by my gate.
The blue moon was beautiful the last couple nights, can't remember it ever being
so bright.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day, take it easy, get some rest and just enjoy the
festivities.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

Dang it I forgot RABBITS! :x There goes my luck for the new year down the drain. :( I could use all I can get too. ~sigh~ Should have left myself a note right by my alarm. I think it would've helped? But as it was as soon as I moved to shut the blasted thing off Shade was in my face giving me puppy kisses all excited telling me to hurry and get up so she could go out and do her morning thing. So my first words this morning was, "Ok, ok, jeeze I'm getting up".

Toasted in the new year with the kids, Jenny's father and her nephew. David had bought a bottle of Champagne. It was pretty good tasting. But I call David my connoisseur. He spent 2 years in Italy and learned a lot about wine and stuff! Sometimes I wonder about that other stuff! He came home on Christmas leave once and (ahhhhh) ? brought home I think something like 23 bottles of wine and champagne with him. It was work for him to pick his duffel bag up off the conveyor and carry it out to the Jeep I was driving. You can guess what he gave everyone for Christmas that year!

Hopefully we will get to work on my wiring in Blazer so I can have cruise back again while I have my headlights on. Then I have no idea what we all will be doing after that for the day. Got my cell phone charging to get it ready for the Happy New calls I will be making in a little while. Out here at David's it is always either searching for a signal or jumping back and forth between roaming and a Sprint signal. So I have to make sure I charge it every day. Pain in the butt!

Well the first pot of coffee is empty so I think I will make up another one. With David home he 'steals' my coffee so I can't get my tank filled as usual. So more coffee is needed!

Hope everyone has a super great New Years Day!! Be safe.

Love to all

I remembered the "Rabbits" too. Cheated a little as I stayed up to see the New Year in, then said rabbits to Nicky before we went to bed. Boy, am I ready for a whole year of better luck than I had this past year.
I spent about half the morning on phone with Blue Cross trying to get a claim (for CPAP replacement last summer) straightened out (could not get thru past ten days as all they were doing was processing applications for medicare supplements). Call just added more to my to do list for Monday. Have to get doctor and equipment provider to resubmit claim with corrected codes or it will not be covered. Since it is more than $4000.00 Must do.
One of the antique malls where I have booths is open today (all others are closed for holiday). As soon as I get off computer am going down there to take Christmas decorations down, put a few items on sale and generally straighten up space. Hope sales pick up in the new year.
Beginning to look as if I may have to pack winter clothes for FL gtg trip. I'm with Tina on the thought that a cold FL might be better than a frigid AL. Most of next week here will be below freezing - 10 to 20 degrees below normal.
Happy New Year to All. Stay safe and try to stay warm.

Forgot the "rabbits" thing this morning :( Is it too late? I don't think there are any lucky rabbits around here today, it's below zero here with a windchill tonight of -40 below. Can't imagine how anything can survive outside in that!

Watched the parade this morning which I look forward to all year! Looks very nice out in California! Loved the float with the snowboarding dogs!! What a riot!

Hope you all had a great day!
