GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!
Got a full pot of coffee sitting here and some yummy goodies. Pull up a chair and sit a spell. Tell us all what's up in your corner!
Other than Conner fussing at his Dad in the living room it's quiet here this morning. Temp is a chilly 32f out there this morn. Snowed just a light dusting last night sure not enough to add to what we have. Looking at the news this morning that storm sure is packing a wallop to the eastern coast! I just know that my girlfriend in Maine is out doing her nekkid snow dance in hopes of getting all the snow that she can. She's rather freaky that way. Not suppose to even get to 35f today but the next few days are suppose to be up in the 40's. There goes that snow, probably wont be any left for Christmas!!!
Went to WalMart last night to see if we could still get the outfits we had picked out for Conner. Found one of them in his size, one of the other ones we got too but in a different color than what we had first picked out. I picked up two of the small boxes of chocolate covered cherries for my Christmas present to myself. Of course the only time you can get them is now so that is a really good thing!!! I eat them now and I'm good until next year. Those things are so sweet they make your teeth ache just thinking about them. Kelly's best friend/sissy use to get me a box for a Christmas present but she now lives in Cal. So none from her now. Poor WalMart!!! I know a lot of people don't like WalMart and some call it "EvilMart". But I felt badly for the store last night. Almost every freezer, cooler and hot prepared food deli case was empty! We got kicked out Friday night during the storm as they had lost power and only had emergency lighting so they asked all shoppers to leave. Well when David came home he mentioned that they were still closed early Saturday afternoon. I have no idea how this store is set up for emergencies? Whether they have just a gen for lighting or a big gen to run the whole store? I know that all the computers and registers were down Friday night. Kelly had talked to an employee but can't remember what exactly he said about generators. She thinks he said that they had one that was running the lights but that the other one? ones? were running and that they couldn't get them started. But all the frozen stuff, deli and cooler stuff must have had to be thrown away. They had some stuff but it had probably been brought in after they got power back. God only knows how much money they lost because they had to throw all that food away and money lost because shoppers couldn't check out. I'm not holding my breath for the managers chance of keeping his/her job with that kind of loss. Even if there is paperwork or records of maintenance showing that everything that was suppose to be done was?? I still think that the bigger district manager is gonna find a scapegoat.
It was amazing the amount of places that were closed yesterday even with the roads plowed and in good shape. Pizza Hut, Hardees, Burger King, Subway were just a few of the food places that were closed. Laundry mats were closed, gas stations and other small stores too. Weird on a Saturday!!!
Gonna go visiting today and that will probably be it for our adventures for the day. Then back home to fix potato soup for everyone.
If your on the eastern coast any where that the storm is gonna hit please be careful. Keep the hatches battened down, candles and blankets handy. Be sure you have whatever ya might need for a few days. Be safe!!!!
Love to all
