WEDNESDAY AND WARMER THAN TOMORROW!

GOOD MORNING ALL!

At 8 degrees above zero this morning, it's warmer than it will be for another few days now, according to the weather forecasts.

I checked on my trailer a couple of days ago, and discovered that my batteries were about 2/3rds charged, according to my gauge inside. I checked the water level, and added a bit of distilled to one of them. After checking again yesterday afternoon, the guage showed the batteries to still be about 2/3rds charged. I had run my furnace for way too long a few days ago, as I forgot about it, and wondered if that had run them down. But, having them plugged in should have charged them again. Anyway, after getting some light bulbs for my lamps out there and trying the plugs, I discovered there was no electricity to the rig. (I need to remember that the overhead lights run on battery power, I guess, as apparently does the furnace?) So I checked the junctions of the extension cord, (digging under the snow where they are covered with containers) and they were tight and fine. So out to the barn I went where I have the cord plugged in, and LO.....there was a little yellow light on the plug. I hadn't noticed that the socket is one of those with a reset button on it....like a bathroom socket? Anyway, when I hit the reset button, all is fine once again! Problem solved. I will just have to remember to check that plug-in after I run my furnace again. It's nice to know I can have it toasty in there via battery power, however! I have never run the furnace on batteries before, to my knowledge. What makes those switches on those plugs snap off? Overload, or something? I could have saved me a lot of trouble by checking that plug first!

We made about 20 birch bark signs yesterday in school, and I am now putting the finishing touches on mine so I can stain the back and sides and polyurethane it today. Mine is REALLY rustic (the letters, I mean) and I totally love it! Can't wait to get it home here.

Time to pay some bills and get into a hot bath before heading to the salt mines. Coffee is hot, so stop in and tell us about your day. I need to appreciate the 'warmth' of today, as it's bound to be way colder tomorrow morning!

Good morning Soos (and everyone else when you get up). It's a little cooler here today...60s predicted. The good thing about weather in FL is that the cold days warm back up in just a few days, rather than months.

Glad you discovered why your battery wasn't charging, Soos, and that it was a simple fix (no $$$ needed)! Yes, running things in your TT will run it down when you're not using a generator or hooked up to elec. In my rv, driving also charges the batteries, but don't know if that happens in a TT or not, but anyway you're not driving right now.

I'm off to the store for a few supplies, then a little cleaning and laundry chores here. Not too much happening.

Enjoy your day!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!

Brrrr Soos, I'm glad I'm not up there with you and Cedar. It's only a frosty 24f here this morning. Cold but not as cold as your area. The weather page is calling for a sweltering 43f today. Might have to break out the bikini and work on my tan! Nah! No bikini here someone would probably call P.I.T.A. about a beached whale.

As my Blazer is refusing to start, I borrowed David's beast of a Blazer yesterday to go to town. We got most of our running done. Last stop was the bank then we were going to go to the hospital to check on Conner before getting a few groceries and heading home. David's Blazer wouldn't start? Nothing but a click? Would have rather gone to the dentist than to call David and let him know something was wrong with his Blazer!!! :( He of course was at work and couldn't do much. But he had to run a junk motor and some old parts to the junk yard and swung over to the bank to tinker with the Blazer. Seems like there is a ground short some where. He jumped started it with the jumper box from work and seeing as how it was 4pm we had to head straight home before dark as we had no headlights. Usually he has Wednesday off but he opted to work today and is going to have Thursday off instead. He said he will see what he can do for both my Blazer and his.

About Conner? Doctors? Bah! They are not sure what is going on with him? Blood work came back but didn't really tell them anything except that he has an infection. Urine test says it's a bladder infection. They did an ultra-sound on him yesterday but wont have any results or news until today. I guess one doc is talking about doing a lower lumbar spinal tap? One is talking about needing to circumcise him? Seems to me that he would have a urinary tract infection if it was a problem with his foreskin not a bladder infection???? And Jenny keeps that boy clean and changed all the time. And what in he77's name has a spinal tap got to do with a bladder infection??? They have any idea at all and are groping for straws in the dark. We are all worried to a frazzle here. They said he'd be in the hospital for maybe 2 to 3 days? He went in on Monday so maybe it's crazy but we are hoping he can come home tomorrow!!!!

With no vehicle to drive for now, we will be staying home today! Oh well, will do some extra house cleaning and Kelly has plans to do laundry. I need to dig out the battery charger and throw it on my Blazer. Get it back up to full power after playing around trying to start it. And it will at least be out for David if he needs it for his Blazer too.

Got the coffee pot brewing up a fresh pot, so if ya need a caffeine jump start this morning it will be here. I think I will whip up some french toast this morning....YUM

Hope everyone has a great day, stay warm and stay SAFE!!!

Love to all

Good Morning All - Echo - so sorry to hear about Conner - that is so scarey when they can't tell us what is wrong - the baby- and doctors just guess.
It gets cool here at night temp guage says 50 but it gets hot during the day up to the 80s. Today we are going on a slow boat ride on the El Fuerte River (my idea) so hope it is fun. Lots of biting bugs here though so even with the heat it will be long pants and shirts.
This little town hasn't been found by the tourists yet so it is really really Mexico - did find the churro man last night - yummy
Safe travels everyone.

So sorry to her about Conner-----I sure hope they find out what's wrong with him sooner rather than later. Being car-less certainly doesn't help with your anxiety, either.

Keep us informed, and hope it's an infection that will respond quickly to antibiotics and that little Conner willl be home soon.

Hello Everyone, I am in central Fl. Wishing I wasn't here last night. Depression set in, as it has all changed so much down here and a really stressful place. I vowed I wouldn't come back and here I am. But think I might really mean it next time. Maggie and I, are well and the trip will get better I hope :) Except for the GTG, and the fact I really want to go, I would have headed home this morning. Yesterday was just not a really good day , but I feel better this morning.

Echo, I am so sorry to hear that Connor is in the hospital. I sure hope all turns out well there.

I really don't have time to read of everyones doings, and by thread titles, looks so interesting. I will be a very busy person for the rest of this winter when I get home. Next outing, I hope to have a laptop, sure thinking of it.

Had a long list of those I wanted to visit on this trip, but have narrowed it down to those I have not seen in 10 years or more. Had a great time in Wesley Chapel, hadn't seen that couple for over 20 years so a lot to catch up on. His sister and I, were the best of friends, she's gone now and he was only 10 when I met him.

Have fun, those traveling stay safe. Merry Christmas to all, and Happy New Year, in case I don't have access to another computer. I wish you all the Very Best in the New Year. 2010? Hard to Believe.

God Bless,
Carol

Thank you, Carol, and may God continute to Bless you throughout 2010! Hope Santa surprises you with a computer! :D

Echo, Sorry to hear about Conner. Poor little guy. The spinal tap is to rule out meningitis. Scary stuff for little ones! Babies are so fragile. There is viral and bacterial type. One can take your life quickly! I had the bacterial one when I was in 3rd grade. The sypmtoms I had were a low grade temp and a headache. Keep us updated on him, please. Prayers being said.

Our wild Arctic blast has passed and we are back to 40s for highs and rain, rain, rain. I'll take the rain any day over low temps or snow/ice.

I bowled yesterday and two gals on the same team need prayer. One lady flew to CA to be with her sick sister and she fell and broke her ribs. Francine is probably in her late 60s. Then Lisa, in her early 40s, had a stroke!! We are totally shocked that it happened to someone so young. I know last week she wasn't her usual self and thought she was fight a cold. Both these women are lovely in every way. Just doesn't seem fair.

Soos, glad you found the culprit for your electric problem. Sure feels good when it's a simple solution.
Everyone, stay safe!
Hugs!
