Tuesday Before the Deep Freeze

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Still warm here this morning at about 28 degrees, and we have another inch of snow from overnight. But the weather warnings are for REALLY frigid temperatures to swoop down on us from the midwest beginning tonight. Guess I'd better bring some more firewood in after school today and store it on my porch.

We made some birch bark signs in my class yesterday-----cut the wood, glue birch bark on the face of it, and then fashion letters on the sign from birch twigs, hot glue them in place and then fasten them with teeny little brads. They are very rustic and very pretty-looking. The final step is a couple of coats of polyurethane over the whole shebang to weather-proof them. My personal one is "LIBERTAS"------Freedom in Latin! I will hang it outside my trailer when I am finally free! When I get it home, I'll take a picture of it and post it, along with the two wreaths I made and have hanging on my porch.

I hope everyone is having some nice weather mingled in with the nasty stuff that's spreading across the country. It seems as if no area has been perfect camping weather this fall and early winter. One week from yesterday will be the Winter Solstice----shortest daylight of the year for us in this hemisphere. I'll have to figure out some way to celebrate that day, as it's my favorite turning point of the year.

Coffee is hot and Hazlenut again----can't afford the really expensive stuff with more exotic flavors, although I may treat myself for over the holidays! So, pull up a chair and tell us about your day. Happy Tuesday to all!

Last night I treated myself to one of those Land 'O Lakes Hot chocolate packets, Caramel flavored. It was like drinking a melted candy - delish! Today Jenny, Beth, Chris and Moi are making another run to Agodones. Chris to get her paperwork done, me to get medication that Dr. Google says I need, Jenny and Beth...the only thing on their agenda is eat Shrimp Tacos. I can help out there. Um....what happened to Monday? Oh yes, I was too lazy like everybody else! 8-)

Good Morning All - We are in El Fuerte now. Out in the middle of nowhere - 36 miles (1 1/4hr drive) off the main road. Old silver mining town, that hasn't been resettled by Norte Americanos. Established in the late 1500s. Lots of bitting bugs though and I can't use bug repellant on my skin - guess long pants in 80+ degree heat. Gets really cool at night - turned heater on for 5 mintues this a.m. to take chill off. Just exploring today around here.
Better weather and safe travels to everyone
Got an email from a friend she had to return to Edmundson Canada from AZ - It was 60 below with windchill when she got there. Doors on plane had to be thawed before they would open. UGH.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!

Hope ya'll are staying dry? sheesh It sure does seem like it's been raining a LOT! Everything feels damp and soggy including me. I just know I've got mold and moss growing somewhere I can't see it. :? It's not raining at the moment but the sky sure is gray and overcast. The table and chairs out in the carport where just drippy this morning and of course without even thinking about it I sat down in one of the chairs while waiting on Shade. Ewwww, talk about a soggy butt!

Didn't go anyplace yesterday so we will be going to town today. Need to take the clothing that we bought Conner for Christmas back. At just 6wks old is already out growing the 0-3 month sizes. So we will have to exchange them for bigger. Haven't figured out what to get Jenny for Christmas. Will probably end up getting her a gift card. David is no problem I can always figure out something to get him. I have to admit that what to get Kelly is a mystery this year. I've had one or two ideas but they're not cheap ones and I'm not sure what kind to buy. ~sigh~ Me? All I want is an electric frying pan. That's all. Found one at WalMart that I drooled over and showed it to Kelly. Told her that all of them could split the cost. Now if Santa wants to bring me a Class C with a big bow on it??? I sure wouldn't turn it down or even exchange it!!!!

Well it's time to pour another cup of coffee, I've got some extra here if anyone wants a cup. I do believe I will do up some french toast this morning for breakfast. Yum, yum!

Hope everyone has a good day today be sure to stay safe and well.

Love to all

Good day all
Morning seems to have slipped away.
Weather continues to be crazy here too. Overall much colder than normal and way more wet. In past 2 weeks we've had snow, flooding, black ice and one day of near record high temp coupled with a night at 25 degrees. Just saw on news that we have a 15% higher chance of a white Christmas than normal. No thank you; I'd rather see my snow on Soos videos (I enjoyed that very much). Don't need to be any closer than that to appreciate snow.
Cannot believe I have another leaking roof problem. This one I've called the insurance company about as I am hoping at least some of the cost of new roof will be covered due to hail damage. Adjustor has not been out yet so just keep your fingers crossed that this one will not be all out-of-pocket.
Wishing everyone a safe, warm and dry day.

The weather is yuck here. It has been raining for 2 days. Wish the front would come through and push the rain out. Look out East of Louisiana, it's headed your way.

Our roof is leaking again too. When we bought a modular home after Rita the salesman's big hype was the 10 year warranty. They would only come see about something for the first year and worked on the roof 3 times. Last year I called another place and they worked on it twice. Today it is leaking in a different place. I think the next thing will be a metal roof. I haven't found one problem that their 10 warranty will cover. It's like the service contracts, they find a way to weasel out of paying for anything.
