OMG it's a C-C-Cold Monday ...

Can't believe I'm the one posting the Monday wake-up call. It's almost afternoon for a
lot of you. But I put a little cinnamon in my coffee this morning, and my Little Little Dog
woke up happy and hungry this morning (she's normally a real a.m. slug). And so did I.
Big storm is moving in today, and high winds are predicted. It's 19 degrees right now.

Today is my fouth day without sugar, so I'm out of the woods again. Now I can CHOOSE
what I eat, without those driving cravings that sugar gives me. So no muffins for you
gals this morning.

My roomie is getting a colonoscopy today, so she's been doing the laxative dance
since yesterday. I'm taking her to her 1 p.m. appointment, and I'll tell ya ... when I
had mine done, I said, "The earlier the better!" when I scheduled mine.

Hi Janice! I felt a little disorientated with no east coast morning post to read! Warmer today, but foggy, not sure it's really fog but that's what they call it here, NOT tule fog, that's for sure. I'm still knee deep with sewing projects. So the weather is cooperating nicely. :)

Too funny you mentioned sugar as I've been on a sugar binge since Thanksgiving. Before that big mistake I was feeling soooo good. My system just can't take this kind of abuse anymore. No more sugar for me either! ;)

Later in week it's forecast to be much warmer, I'm thinking about a short camping trip to test out the 'winterized' routines. Oh it's so lovely to have a full service rv. I know I am going to miss them for the next few months.

Here is a movie recommendation for those with Netflicks......The Answer Man....its' REALLY funny. Hope you have good day....

I am addicted to sugar, and when I eat it I have NO control. Much like an alcoholic.
In fact, my self-talk is JUST like that of an alcoholic in his cups. Just substitute
the word "cookie" for alcohol. "I can have just one cookie," "I've had a bad day,
I deserve a cookie." "Let's celebrate and eat some cookies," and, the classic,
"I'll show you! I'm going to go have a cookie."

It takes me three days to process that #@!$ out of my system. On the fourth
day (today--yaaay!) the cravings and urges and self-talk disappear. NOW I can
eat reasonably.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!

Monday, Monday can't trust that day!! Geeze I remember when that song came out and it sure did ring true back then. Now it seems like Monday is just another day. Working at the Lodge Saturday was our Monday cause we had Thursday and Fridays off and we would grumble then. :D

Chilly here, weather page says 34f. Actually feels a little colder than that cause it's damp outside. Suppose to get to a high of 50. It's gonna be colder than that out in AZ where we were at. And in St George UT where we would go shopping, dinner and Kelly would get in a movie if she wanted. Now we just need to get somewhere warmer for a while. We've had the cold, the rain and the snow in both AZ and here. Now we need the sun, sand and balmy temps!

Breakfast? Might have a bowl of oatmeal and some toast. No donuts or muffins here. Talking about sugar, sweet cravings? Every so ofter I go on a sweet binge. Not very often but sometimes it gets the best of me and I go crazy. Candy, candy bars, Reese Peanut Butter Cups are my downfall! Oh and ice cream. Good thing I'm not a diabetic. Have no idea why I'm not? Grandfather, Mother both were and at least one older brother is. I'm not sure of the other older brother? I figure it will hit me sooner or later and then I will be in deep doo-doo when the craving hits me.

Hope everyone has a terrific day. Stay safe all and watch out for those sneaky sweet cravings.

Love to all

Janice, sounds like you and I have the same affliction... Just ask Karen,, she saw evidence of my SUGAR addiction when I was @ her place! I keep trying to get those little demons away,, but when I get away from home,, they creep back in! Seems like a celebration to me!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!

18* :o here in the bbbbeautiful PNW! What's worse is the wind! It's been blowing now for 2 days straight! Yep, Janice, it's coming your way. The Arctic blast is going south down into CA, too. They are predicting a few flakes in the Sacramento area where my son/family lives. That area hasn't seen snow for 30 yrs!

I just got home from Curves. It was crowded this morning, but so much fun. All the ladies are a riot! Nothing like starting your day with a good laugh!

Before Ieft I finished cleaning up the kitchen. My DD and her family were here last evening after doing their Christmas shopping. I fed them meatball sandwiches and fresh baked choco chip cookies (sorry Janice, Janet, Diana, and Echo) ;)
We played Super Mario on the Wii and had a great time.

For the rest of the day I'm going to wrap myself in blankets on the sofa and watch a few shows I recorded. (did anyone else watch the end to The AMazing Race?). Love that show.

Stay safe, dry and warm. God bless your day, ladies.

I love that show, too. And the team that won (I didn't use a more descriptive term in case anyone hasn't seen it yet) was exactly the team that should have won! I sure as heck was cheering for them last night!!

It's been cold but sunny here in Illinois today. Must be the day for the colonoscopys as I took a friend in early today for hers. It is a 3 hour process and they insist you have someone drive you and stay there during the procedure.
My sweet tooth seems to be in high gear too, my latest indulgence is fig preserves and marscarpone cheese spread on fresh baked English muffins from our Coop bakery yummm and I don't even care for figs that much butt this is great even on crackers.
