FRIDAY

I guess I'm the first here this morning so I'll put the coffee and tea on and open the cupboards and see what we have to feast on. There's sodas in the fridge, help yourselves. Looks like we have some muffins and some bagels and some hot oats on the stove.

I get to pick my Granddaughter up today from the school. She's been away for the week at an outdoor education facility that the 5th graders get to attend each year. It is 4 days/3 nights they stay in dorms and do all sorts of environmental "classwork". We went last night for family night where each of the groups put on skits. The allow 4 classes at a time at the facilities. She had perfect weather this week for her stay there...that won't be the case for some of the classes as they do this for the entire school year. Glad she got October and not January or February! Brrrr.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Surprise! It is raining in Ohio! I hope that your gd enjoyed her week...... Kids need as many connections to nature and the outdoors as they can get..... It helps if it is beautiful! I came through some wonderful color as I headed north on the road yesterday. It was like condensing a month in one or two days. First there were the few trees of color and then more and more of the hills were affected. The first thing I noticed this morning was how many leaves where being brought down with the rain..... Today is for running around, checking in with the step mother who was taken back to rehab after her fall last week and hospital stay....... returning books and books-on-tape back to the library...and paying my fines $$$ because I forgot to call them to renew while I was on the road....I never really mind paying the fines....I love libraries....and it is all cheaper than buying the books.... The ladies are very nice and I just thank them for not putting my picture on the wanted poster....and to name a chair after me from my "donations".

Remi needs his yearly exam and I get to clean and clean some more......the house smells like kitty! I have had cats for years and it is the one smell that I have managed NOT to acquire  DH's nose is not sensitive and he apparently didn't notice that anything was wrong. SO now I have a house that smells just like my Aunt Glady (the cat lady's) house smelled..... This will take some time to correct.
Rain or shine, I hope everyone has an adventurous day as they go about their journeys......discovering the wonders and making peace with the rest........

Good morning ladies. Good news here....I have a new refrigerator in the rv and it works! Switches automatically from elec. to propane, so no more kneeling while pushing buttons and begging it to light. It can also be manually put on house battery while driving.

Tina, I so enjoyed your travels...thanks for taking us along. Hope to meet you some day.

Paulette, sounds like it was a great opportunity for your gd. How nice that you could attend and see some of what they did.

All else, safe travels to everyone.

Afternoon, all!

I'm back this afternoon after a 5 day trip to my sister's on the Illinois side of St. Louis. Great time and even hubby (mine) had fun!!! Go figure.

Tina, I'm sorry your trip is over. I've enjoyed every minute of your postings, especially now that I've met you and your kids. You're still lucky that I didn't try and make off with Herschel, you know. All your kids are wonderful, though.

Happy Friday evening...

ON EDIT: Vickie made me change my avatar. It was HER suggestion as to the image...

Well, for some of you the day's over. I've got a couple of hours left before I hit the sack, but I wanted to say how very grateful I've been for your support this week.

It's been hectic, getting back into the swing of school and all of its craziness after a week with the RVW group in TX. So much fun, and so many retired people! It was hard to come back and think about having to work for 6 more years. I've actually figured out how much I'd need to win in the lottery to be able to retire now ... not a good state of mind when the school year's not half over. ;)

Besides that, the whole Jed saga and dealing with the insurance company has pretty much wiped out my emotional reserves, and I've felt pretty fragile inside. Add to that the rest of living, and let's just say that I'm glad for 2 days to myself.

There's a big street faire tomorrow that I'm going to enjoy, and then on Sunday the big California RV show will keep me busy dreaming. It's been a tradition for me to go every year on my birthday but I was in TX for that. Love looking at all the rigs. :) And the weather will be great for it -- we're expecting 90-degree temps both days. Yup, I'm still in shorts & a t-shirt.

Jed's walking without scuffing his back feet and has found his voice again. Walking him this evening almost brought tears to my eyes. It's been 3 weeks since my boy got sick & I didn't know if I'd ever see him back to his old self. Thanks for all of your prayers and support there, too.

I hope you all have a great weekend. I think I will. :)
