Good Wednesday morning to all!

I've already had my coffee & cereal, started a load of laundry and straightened the kitchen. Cleaning floors is on the agenda today too, but first Roe has an appointment for his semi-annual check-up at the vet. Hope they're impressed with how fit and trim he looks after his summer travels. He looked like an old overweight dog the last time they saw him. I must be careful not to let that happen again over the winter....to me either!

No decision made yet, but I did call a realtor to see if they would come and look at my house & property and give me an idea of its marketability. They didn't call back, so maybe they're not interested in doing that? I'll call another one today.

Hope the sun comes out on all of you today, physically and spiritually.

Good morning :P
coffee is tasty this morning and a little toast hits the spot. No big plans for today
other than tidying up the kitchen. Will do a little surfing on verizon website for
new service, they offer prepaid now so will probably go with that. Daughter has
had me on her family plan but it ends soon and she isn't going to
renew as she plans on changing to cricket. I must say I've been spoiled with free
cell service for the past 4 years, first two years was mothers day gift and second
two years was birthday gift. I don't use the phone much so a prepaid plan would
work for me and give me the security I need in case of auto breakdowns or other
emergencies.
Off to read up on posts, have a great day and everyone be safe.

Good morning everyone!

Dreary day here, very fall-ish looking.

I'm back at work. And finally, through a group effort here at school we have convinced Kath to go to the ER to get checked out for the persistent headache since our mishap on Monday. She's a stubborn lumberjack, but when tag-teamed she gave in. Whew. She's taken my Escape and I've kept my SIL's "tank".

Liz, that sounds interesting,.. what will you do? Full time? Exciting to think about changes a-foot for you.

Have a grand day everyone!

Hi, Ava!

When we moved to TN 5 1/2 years ago, our Verizon phone didn't have service (teeny-tiny little area in NW TN that doesn't have service and we plopped ourselves smack dab in the middle of it!). Anyway, they cancelled our contract with no penalty and I went to Pay As You Go and have had it ever since.

Our works like this - $15/month and it's $0.25/call and $0.10/minute. The $15 is good or one month and then expires, unless you renew before the end of those 30 days OR $15, whichever comes first. I was having issues with running out of time right in the middle of a call and then trying to figure out how to add minutes. What I ended up doing, is giving them my credit card for auto-renewal, so now - a few days before the end of the 30 days, OR when my account gets down to $3.00 (I think), Verizon automatically renews me for another $15. That way, I get to keep my number and don't have to even think about calling to renew. I love it. We use our cell phone so little, I have accumulated 35 hours of talk time!

I am not sure if that plan is still available. I think the way it works now is the same $15/month, but say you make a call on Monday, you are charged $0.99 and then any other call you make for that day is free. So, if you only make one phone call on Monday, that call will have cost $0.99.

You should try and ask them about the plan I have...for us, it works a LOT better because we usually only make one phone call every week or more!

IF you use your phone much tho, the pay-as-you go plan can end up costing more than their plan with the least minutes. I've had Verizon for years and only found, so far, one area that didn't have service and it was on the Navajo reservation near Monument Valley.

Also, check out the Magic Jack phone (www.magicjack.com) for local calls. $20 a year for unlimited calls through youor computer, local and long distance. I've had one for years. I admit that sometimes the quality of the audio isn't the greatest but for about $2 a day, you don't lose much.

Dreary day here too, rained a lot during the night. The weather man said we are having November weather as it is running almost 20 degrees cooler than normal. Maybe we'll get October weather in November, wishful thinking!
Carol I understand why you are considering selling your house, sounds like you and your husband are more into warmer weather. The midwest has not been at it's best these last two years to say the least. The ice storms and then the inland hurricane that we had here were really devastating and frightening. We still hear the sound of chain saws or roofing most days.
Liz so exciting to hear you are thinking about a new adventure, I hope it all goes smoothly.

Morning (still morning, here) it's only 9:30.
I've been to get my mammogram and back already. Also baked a batch of cookies.
Our weather is pretty much back to normal. Rain off and on/partly sunny/cloudy.
Yesterday morning, just before I left to go bowl, we had a storm go through. I heard a crash and found my Halloween decorations from the front porch pretty much scattered about the yard. The wind was really whipping things about. A few trees had entirely lost their leaves already.
Nothing else planned for today but sinuses are acting up and I think a dose of some sinus meds are in order. That means that a nap will soon follow as they knock me out, even if they say non-drowsey.
I used Consumer Cellular for years, $10 a mon and .25 a min. Last Christmas my son put me on his family plan with AT&T and I spurged and bought an iPhone. I keep getting emails from my DIL that I need to use the phone more as they have over 8000 rollover minutes to use up and more being added every month!! I'm like Mitch. I'm not a person that enjoys talking on the phone, nor am I one that has to carry the phone around with me wherever I go. I don't like the added stress that comes with people thinking that you HAVE to answer cause it's with you! JMHO ;)
Have a safe day, everyone!

Good afternoon all. It's drizzle time here for the last two days. The weather should improve after today and stay on the cool side which is nice. Finished cleaning all the rugs this AM and am now done for the rest of the day. I think my puppy (15 yr. old) was eating something outside that didn't agree with her and she was not sick. At her age that is what was worrying me the most. She had a few accidents during the night, but last night was accident free. I certainly needed a SPEW ALERT for her. Why do they keep walking around instead of staying put? After cleaning up the accident site, I figured why not just continue and clean the rest of the carpet since the machine was out. I've also decided to look into either hardwood flooring or tile. Going to read what everyone else is up to. Take care. Linda

Ava: I have pay as you go with T Mobile. After I bought $100 worth the minutes do not expire for a year. As long as I renew before the year is up any minutes left roll over and there is no roaming fees.
BTW: You don't need any service provider to dial 911; it is free. Just need a working phone.

Oh, thanks for that reminder.
I remember hearing about Verizon and paying for a year up-front, which made it pretty cheap.
I then promptly forgot all about it.
