GOOD MORNING, ALL!

I had a fitful night of sleep after Cedar came into the ORS chatroom last night with a brief note about her Columbus Day. I will let her tell you all the story of it, but I must say I am just so VERY happy she and her friends made it through the ordeal. I can't imagine the terror that you must have felt, and are probably still feeling. I will look forward to a post from you when I get to school, letting us know how you are doing today.

Enclosed are pics of my front deck this morning---I am so happy I managed to get my woodpiles covered up yesterday before this white stuff decided to pile up a bit.

These are pics I took this morning:

Cool seating for coffee this morning!!

My poor freezing flowers and the front deck, with snow still falling.

Coffee is hot, and fire is blazing----c'mon in and tell us what's going on in your world.

Well Soos, I could use a little of that white stuff just to cool us down a little..92 yesterday..as we finished unloading the rig...Now I told you all I came to Florida for the winter.. right..well I like warmth.. but breathing is another story.. the air is so thick you could cut it with a knife..yikes..now what I like is like 70ish..that's wonderful..So...please send some cool air down our way.. cause I know Liz, Lori, Nan, and I'm sure Carold too would like a little bit.. and you all know I'm the sharing, caring type..LOL

Today is finish up and move the rig to the parking area..then I'm gonna throw together a Chocolate Cherry cake as my girlfriend from Maryland is coming down to stay a week at her house and she'll have her mother and her friend with her..soooooooo need to make a dinner for tonight with desert :)

Critters are settled in great and I'm just catching up with myself..then tomorrow I take a trip to Orlando airport and send hubby back on his way with some cookies... yep, gotta make Peanut butter Blossoms and Oatmeal,Raisin,Walnut, Chocolate chip..gosh.. gotta figure a name for those cause by the time you type the name your fingers are panting hahahaha...

Well, today also is the first day of the trial so..by some chance if you happen to have a spare minute please remember Ange's family in your prayers.. this is going to be so hard ...

Hope you all have a great day and if ya get a wild hair..and come my way.. you are guaranteed a meal and desert and possible some good entertainment...ya just never know with me :)

Miss you all !

God Bless
Zeee

PS... Hey Lori... I thought Ernie was gonna do the walkin ?...Spinner is gonna have to get sneakers..his little toes are gonna be worn out LOL...Lots of good times and I can't wait to hear the stories ...LOL...

Good morning! A little on the somber side after hearing about Cedar. Sure hope everyone involved is ok. Let us hear from you, friend.

You'll all be in my prayers today, Barbzeee, as that trial gets underway.

I have some good news though. The reefer for my rv has arrived at the service center, and I just made an appointment for next Thursday (22nd) to have it installed. (The earliest they could do it) After that, I'll be like Pinocchio, with no strings. :D I'm ready for a little outing...maybe to St. Augustine beaches, and of course to vist Barb.

Hope the sun comes out for you all today. (And melts that snow, Soos!)

OMG - Cedar, I just read what happened to you over on the ORS board. Thank God you are okay.
I am in total shock. You and your friend and pups were so very, very lucky.

good morning
I'm not a member of ORS so I have no idea what happened to Cedar, hope she posts
over here so we can all know. Barbz, glad to see you've arrived in Florida ok, and my
prayers and thoughts are with you on this date for the trial.
I'll be dropping by the bus yard today to get my floor mopped and thinking about taking
the girls with me, they would enjoy visiting the office staff.
Coffee is good this morning, and I'll just have a little toast with that and off to catch
up on posts.
Have a great day and be safe.

Weather is still a major issue here. The wind is rocking the rig at 32 so our windchill is pretty bad with high humidity, heavy clouds and freezing rain or snow about to start - round 4 of our winter storms so far in the past few days. The big rain front moving into CA is likely to ride either through us or maybe go south. Either way -- I reckon more winter or rain is due somewhere. And the big storm racing across the south...Many of you in the heat zone may be getting flooded next! All us humans can do is -- stay away from danger areas, keep any eye on the weather and run for cover should the need arise!

I'm about to head into the house to snuggle up next to the kitchen wood burning cookstove. Some of you know how nice that is...and I can't wait until our house is done and we have ours up and running!

That's true especially today -- our front heater in the coach quit last evening. So far our trouble shooting as netted no cause for our shut down and we'll be working all day to find a cure before colder weather hits.

Be safe and warm everyone!
Shelley

Good Morning Friends!

Thank you all for your kind wishes and prayers. Yes, Kath and I are ok this a.m. ... a little heartsick for her Explorer and my Rockwood, but as my daughter put it when she and my DIL and GS arrived to drive us home, ....it's only metal and plastic and wood... YOU are ok.

This is what happened,... short version,... driving about 53-55 mph on I-87 north to drop off camper for winterization. Apparently hit something small and sharp on the road, taking down a rear tire on the Explorer. Even with the anti-sway bar in place, the sway of the Explorer and then the camper became too much and we lost the camper up onto a bridge railing where it jackknifed into the side of the Explorer. My upper body is very sore from working with the steering wheel,... Kath is sore all over and got a bump on her head, not enough to raise an egg. Both little dogs were in the backseat and survived nicely with only a couple small pieces of glass in Ginger's fur. We were truly blessed. It is obvious that the Rockwood is totalled, and we expect the same for the Explorer.

So for the first time in more than five years I'm without a camper. (again) My house is filled with bags of furnishings,... strange what survived and what got broken. Wardrobe doors were off the hinges, plastic coat hangers broken. Yet a ceramic coffee mug survived as did our little resin bear mascot and our ceramic lamp. The range top ended up at the foot of the bed.

So today we are sorting through the bags and organizing .... in case I decide to start over again. At this time I'm not sure I'll get another camper. It may be time for me to give it up. i feel like I've had to start over too many times.

I'll grab a cup of coffee and get back to work sorting.... (both of us are taking day off to deal with insurance and rest our bones.)

Thank you all so much for your concern, your well wishes and most of all your friendship for both me and for Kath.

WE are rocking and rolling here this morning. 40* out there and the wind is howling, lights are flickering, and rain coming down sideways! My Halloween decorations on the porch are all over the front yard. ;) But that being said, I love it! So Halloween-ish! Now we'll see how much I love it when I have to go out in it to bowl and get groceries.

Barbzeee, prayers for your family going up. Cedar, rest my friend and gather yourself. Liz, hooray on the fridge arriving! Everyone else safe warm if up north or upper west/midwest, and cool if down south.
Hugs!

Cedar, your bear mascot survived so that she could ride in your next rig. I have a book that I write meanful messages for myself. Recriler pour mieux sauter (Draw back to jump higher). Take the winter to plan your next move. You and Kath will be 90, sitting in your rockers, rehashing the experience and laughing. Beats saying "I planted roses over there and I put marigolds in that pot, then I tripped over the garden hose. Thinking of you

OMG Cedar what a horrible experience. I'm so glad you and Kath are alright for the most part. Do take it easy for the next couple of days. Your daughter is right, it's only plastic, wood and metal and can be replaced, that's what insurance is for. You don't need to decide right now about another rig, although come spring you might decide to fill the empty space in your yard. LOL. Take it easy and heal. Linda

Your pictures of the snow is absolutely beautiful but a little early for me (I'm in Virginia - the earliest snow that I remember is early December). And the forecast for this winter say we are having a warm winter...which probably means a few blizzards for us.

Cedar- I like the rest of this group am very glad that everyone is alright and that the pets are fine also.

I had to work yesterday(my school was in when others in the area was off) and today was 2 back to back conferences(one for Personal Finance and one for my so I am a little late in posting. I remember how happy you were with your new rig and I am with the rest...I don't see you with a rig for long. And I think your grandson had the best answer: it is just stuff...glad you are ok. And I believe it was an accident but the best thing is that you are here to move forward.

Hope that some great things happen for you (maybe just a small blessing) and the rest of the wonderful women here.

HELLO SISTAHS!!!

Been a couple of days since I posted. By time we get off work, home and have eaten supper I simply don't have much interest? gumption? or whatever ya'll want to call it to come back down to the lodge. Besides by then it's almost dark and cold. Bah Humbug! Not to even mention that after being in and out of the rooms in the cold air, getting all warm and toasty and full belly I have a really hard time trying to convince myself to get my butt in gear.

Haven't found jobs yet that will fit for us so we are still looking. Will probably end up camping out at a small campground on the Indian Res until we find an apt to live in for the winter. Have talked to the boss here and we are more than welcome back next season. So at least we know we will have jobs for 2010. Whew!!! Got to pinch and save them pennies even harder.

I have been trying to read the postings and catch up but it's rough as ya'll have been busy.

Marda, Hun my prayers for you and Mari's family. It hurts I know. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

Cedar, OMG I am so glad that you, Kath and furbabies are ok. 'Stuff' can always be replaced in one shape or form. But YOU can't!!! Yeppers, you'll have another RV. Just can't imagine you not camping.

Barbz, so glad that you've gotten to FL safe and sound. Sure do miss yakking with ya. Give Robert and extra big huggie before he leaves.

Lori and Earnie, WooHoo a new furbaby. Gonna be busy now. Maybe Spinner will help wear Ernie out? LOL

Carolyn, now I know why Kelly and I haven't been rained on much! Especially when we were camped out. I must have left those gremlins in TN and now they've found you. Sorry!

Sharon, I'm sending my sorrys to you too. Maybe one of those gremlins adopted you? ;)

Janice, that is a beautiful floor. Love the look of it and coloring! Way to go.

Lotus, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

I know I've missed much more since I was here last time. Sending out a HUGE welcome to all new members. So glad that you have found us. We is good people!!!! :D

Ok, it's 8:12pm here and time to head for home. Send a little time with Shade and chill for a few before I head to bed.

Love to all
