Good morning Janet and all our WomenRV sisters!

it's a dreary morning here. Today is "picture day" at our school. So many of the kids are all spiffied up with white shirts and neck ties, and pretty dresses. Then some kids are just the opposite, they look like they were sent out the door without a bath or shampoo,... my heart goes out to them.

Have a fun day subbing, Janet.

Hope you are all having a wonderful day!

Morning Girls! I'm enjoying a lovely week day morning at home! I have today off because I spent Tuesday through Thursday at a convention in our company exhibit booth...so I have a four day weekend! That will make up for the three days of working extra hours and the travel time! Today I have to run to Yankton to renew our cell phone contract and pick up new phones. Tonight is a football game, but it's suppose to be about 25* and windy...since our kids are out of school I've turned into a bit of a fair weather fan...going to be too cold for me...so we'll probably meet the rest of the fair weather crowd (old fogies) at our friends waterin' hole for our own little tailgate party and listen to the game on the radio. Our team is undefeated and ranked first in the state in their class. Football is the name of the game here also! Four state championships and one runner-up since 2002. So far this year we have scored 243 points to the opponents 32. The second and third string are getting lots of playing time, but extremely lopsided scores does make watching the games a bit boring. Think I've decided I'm going to make Hot and Sour Meatballs for the tailgate party. Going to read some more posts then get on with the day...have a great one and I'm looking forward to more pictures for the GTG!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Good Morning, y'all!

Janet----I didn't realize you are a sub! We have a ton of subs here at our school today, for some reason----guess because it's a 3-day weekend to begin with, and they wanted a 4-day one! Not supposed to do that.

Cedar has a very busy day! I won't expect to see you in chat tonight! Have FUN!

Hope everybody has a great weekend planned, rain, or shine!

Thanks for the coffee----I'm at school now, and proctoring my 5th period study hall before we all go to lunch. The most troublesome child is absent today, so it's pretty neat in here!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

We awoke to our 1st measurable snowfall yesterday. Today we sit awaiting to be hit by a colder cold front which will bring lows close to single numbers and highs below freezing until sometimes next week. Winter is making a good stand. We are hoping the snowfall is slight as the trees have not dropped leaves yet.

I don't envy the folks in the south who are still using thier air conditioners and experiencing flooding. I guess I have to admit I'd rather have our climate than yours!

We had the coolest & wettest spring and summer on record. Despite that - the garden did well so now we'll just await the coming deep snow and get ready to go sledding!

The animals are really telling us it's getting close to winter. All week flocks of cranes have been flying over heading south, the wild turkeys have been strolling through the barnyard gathering for their winter regime, and the cats are less likey to rove around far from the house.

Have a great day all!

I knew we had some rain coming so I managed to get in high this morning and make it to town to run my errands and grocery shop before the rain hit. There is a line of rain that is from here to the west of Houston so we are going to get some more rain we don't need. It has been in the 90's still and the humidity is very high. There was a heat index of 104 yesterday in a near by town. We won't know how to act when we get some cool weather.

There is the Cattle Festival in Abbeville this weekend but I won't have to go. The Cattlemen and Women use to man the beer booth to raise money for the club. All the money we raise goes to support 4-H and promote the beef industry. Last year the guy that got himself in charge of the festival gave the booth to the Lyon's club. I don't have anything against the Lyon's club but it is the CATTLE FESTIVAL. He's a local politician and I want to see what happens the next time he runs for something.

I am trying to get ready to leave Sunday for the RVW convention in San Antonio. I have know about this for a long time but do you think I would get everything ready in advance. Not me. I still need to unload my van so I can reload what I need to take.
