SNOW---OCTOBER---RABBITS!!

RABBITS! First day of October, I remembered to say RABBITS when I woke up in the early morning to stoke the fire, and it's SNOWING!!

My satellite TV is having trouble with local stations this morning----I can't get any of them again. I'll have to wait for daylight after school to see what's up with the dish---maybe the wind knocked it off kilter again the other night. But it was fine last night when I went to bed, and I didn't hear any more winds. Surely it can't be snowing THAT hard to interfere with the signal?

Hot coffee tastes good and the wood fire feels great in here----it's right about freezing temperature out there, and snowing like crazy! October is coming in with a flourish, all-righty! Pull up a chair and warm yourselves, inside and out, and let us know what your day in this new month will bring.

I just checked outside on the deck, and it looks as if it's already stopped snowing. My camera is still out in the trailer or I would take a pic of the white dusting on the ground---maybe I'll go get it and edit this message in a bit.

Happy October to us all----time to read "October's Bright Blue Weather" by Helen Hunt Jackson. If you get a chance, plug the title into Google and read that neat poem----one we had to memorize and write perfectly in the 4th grade. I still remember most of it, and our Octobers up here are much like Helen describes in her graphic poem.

Good morning Soos and all our sisters!

It's about 43° here and no snow. I'm not surprised you have some as just before dark the sky looked very heavy out your way. I'm not ready yet, either with the unfinished outdoor work or in my mind. Just not ready!

Had a big crowd last night, a steady line to pay their school taxes. So many people wait and let their money earn as much as it can before they pay it out. It went well and my report came out to the penny for the day. I processed just over $159,000 yesterday between 3-6 p.m. I do enjoy that job.

My granddaughter is leaving today on a 4-H college visit to one of the Ag and Tech schools in our state. It's where her brother is going. So after the official visit is over she'll spend the weekend with her brother and his girlfriend. She's staying in his girlfriend's dorm room. He brought his new (and FIRST) girlfriend home to visit for the day last Sat. I didn't know she was coming with him and I was in Plattsburgh grocery shopping and didn't meet her. But my daughter says she likes her. She's a farm girl from VT. Good match. My grandson works at a John Deere dealership in VT during summers and college breaks. He's had dates before, but nobody he called his girlfriend.

time for me to get going here,.... have a great day everyone!

Good Morning!

Soos, you sure do live in a gorgeous place, but I think I'll stick with my less beautiful and much warmer/not so much snow area!
I can't believe you had snow this morning! It's far too early for snow. I'm also surprised your temps are so much colder than Cedar's...
Oh, well - that's the stuff that makes life interesting.

Hope everyone has a great day. I picked up a PM from Sharon this morning and she's headin' East at 'Oh Dark Thirty" this morning! She gave me her cell, so I'll give her a call in the next day or so, see how she's doing.

good morning
running a little late but wanted to stop in anyway to see what everyones up to.
I'm so tired this am, woke up with a migrain and a cramp in my left foot that
took forever to work out. :( Working all these extra hours is kickng my butt,
but I do appreciate looking at the paycheck and know I can go buy some GOOD
groceries. Tomorrow is payday but its in the bank today so I can start on my
budget and know what goes where. It was certainly a long lean haul over the
hump but I'm finally there and now I can start putting my health in order.
Very chilly out this morning, and inside its a chilly 62 degrees. Had to put on
my long robe.
Coffee is ready and I'll have a few graham crackers for my tummy. Off to get
dressed for work and catch up on a few posts, especially the one from Trudy.
Have a great day and be safe.

Good Morning All - Our first day home yesterday was busy. Everytime I thought I had everything I wanted out of Jennie I remembered something else. And as I climbed into bed I remembered another thing - All my bottles of Bernsteins Restaurant House Italian Salad Dressing that I bought in Vegas - need to bring them in this a.m.
Going to take Jennie to get her solar panels installed today at the RV place - will visit with Alfie(our Alfa 40) while there and let him know we still love him. He is going to spend the winter there instead of here at the house. No mice there.
Finally finished up my blog on the trip yesterday. The last three days of our travel were pretty boring except for the WIND.
Now we're starting to get ready for the winter trip. Sending for the Church's Camping Mexico book - the new edition has just come out. If you ever plan to travel in Mexico it is a must.
Worked a little on my stained glass window yesterday while waiting for laundry to get done. Just tack soldering - but discovered I'll need to recut a couple of pieces. Always happens.
Have a wonderful day.

OH Soos! SNOW?!?!? I am so amazed by your winters! It's the beginning of what I hope is a LONG Indian summer here. Fall is my favorite time
in the mountains. Aspens at high elevations are just beginning to turn. Maybe this week-end I will go over to the Calaveras Big Trees to check on the dogwoods, but black oaks here won't be turning until close to Thanksgiving.

I'm going to a small retirement lunch for a friend from work. Actually we have been friends, neighbors, and co-workers for more than 50 years, so I have to say she is more like family than anything! Most of us 'old-timers' are gone now from work, I seldom think of it, just the people.

OK, time to get out for a long walk, hope everybody is have a fun day!
