Good morning ladies
am I the only one up early? Well the coffee is dripping and there are cinnamon rolls
in the oven. Banana and cereal as well if your into something light. I'm going to catch
up on laundry and cleaning today, I just can't stand it anymore, so much has been
put off since the last few weekends were tied up working this place is looking quite
messy. Our nights and mornings have really cooled off but the days are still getting
up there in the triple digit temps. I also need to get some of the oleanders trimmed
down out back and the neighbors shrubs as well as they are due back next month.
I've been taking care of their place over the summer and the stuff in back is growing
like weeds.
Off to get another cup of coffee and then I have some googleing to do. Have a great
day and be safe.

Good morning Ava,... and all our sleepy sisters!

Just finished pancakes and bacon b'fast. I always have a nice b'fast on Sundays. My friend Kathy is visiting for the weekend. We have a roast chicken dinner planned for later today.

For today? It will be laundry, a bit of cleaning,... and as Kath is here,... Scrabble of course! it's drizzly outside, I heard it raining in the night but was too cozy to get up and go out and sleep in the camper. I love the rain on the camper roof.

I hope you are all getting ready for a great day!

GOOD MORNING TO EVERYBODY!

I went back to Plattsburgh yesterday to check out a trailer I had happened upon at the dealer the last time I was there. I took a more critical look this time. Although I do love the added space, (same length as what I have now, but with one slide-out sofa,) and the 500 pounds less weight, and huge enclosed back bathroom including a good-sized tub, two rooftop vents rather than one, walk-around queen bed rather than corner double bed, removable table rather than built-in dinette style table----many pluses, for sure. Detractions= no outside speakers, no ladder so I can safely get to top, too small battery tray (I have two batteries for longer off-grid time) water pump in an impossibly tight place to get at, and double the payments I have now....albeit for fewer years and with lower interest, and not the burgundy color decor I wanted!

Instead, I went to Walmart and bought one of those propane-fired campfire doodads on sale for 25.00, some new border strips to re-do this icky stuff in here, new sheets for the corner bed, and some more good yogurt!

Then I came back here and removed my dinette table and its bottom pipe hole fittings to make more room in here. I also got one of those aluminum fold-up tables to set up between the seats for my laptop. Now I can easily get to the cabinets that are over the window by the dinette without having to climb up on the seats! I also bought a blue-topped plastic bureau-like thing that just fits on the wheel well riser just under the window. Now I have storage space there, a small shelf for my lamp and speakers, and new space! I'll put some pics in this thread later after I take them....will edit the post.

It was about 45 degrees ouytside when I got up, and raining. I heard rain on the roof all night, and my furnace came on and off all night. Very nice and toasty out here, but I soon have to go in and check on Twitch and my mouse traps. NO mice for nearly a week now!

Coffee is hazlenut, sure does taste good! I am doing laundry, re-decorating, and steeling myself for another week in the trenches at school.

Here's some pics of my 'new space'----doesn't look very big, but it feels so much better to me!

Now, on to the border change!

Very cool lookin' and a wise decision you made, Soos.

Ya know,, when I owned my own business, beauty salons,, (not at same time), I learned that the smartest thing one can do is keep one's overhead down. That, equals success. SO you were probably smart to not get into a more expensive rig, but customize your current one, as you did. Great thinking, GF! Also figuring the "don't wants" is going on MY wish list!

I'm learning more from ya'll everyday!

cya out there!

I loved your 'pros' and 'cons' list! :D

The 'new' space looks wonderful. Have you tried your little propane fire thing yet?
Thanks, Karen, for telling us about them! You saved me a couple hundred bucks! :)

And don't you just love that little folding aluminum table? It comes in handy a lot.

Good job on it all!

Soos, buying new is not always the answer. The point being the battery area is much larger in your trailer and the location of the water pump. I sometimes wonder what the manufacturers are thinking when they design RVs, if they do at all. Great ideas to give yourself more space. Linda

Well its not really morning anymore but thought I would post a few pictures from my trip to Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. I had a great time and put over 1100 miles on the rental car in 6 days. I saw a lot of great sights and got to meet Cedar on my travels.

Okay, there's a few pics of my trip. I will go back to the area again as there was so much more to see. I will probably spend more than 6 days too LOL

Hope everyone stays safe in their travels.

Great pics of my side of the country, Laura! It's been a long time since I was in Maine---once worked at a summer camp there in Fryeburg---a camp for very rich and very spoiled young girls! Needless to say, their antics didn't impress me much!

The last time I climbed Mt. Washington, the friend of mine and I didn't realize that the trail had been closed due to heavy, freezing fog, as we left via a trail NOT beginning at the lodge where the signs were posted. When we got to the atmospheric research center building at the top of the mountain, it was the only way we could tell we were at the summit due to the freezing fog! A guy was using a hatchet to chop off the rime ice from the door so they could get in and out of the building! He turned and when he saw us he nearly had a heart attack! We must have looked like apparitions coming out of the heavy fog, and, as the mountain was closed, he asked us how we managed to get up there. Needless to say, he was not impressed that we had managed to bypass the warnings. We went inside and had the best hot chocolate and Lorna Doone cookies I have ever had! Getting back down is a story for another day, best left untold, probably.

Thanks for the memories!

Oh, I so dearly want to visit the New England! When I think of that area my mind goes to pictures of snowy Christmas cards, horse drawn sleighs, bright red cardinals on bare tree branches and Victorian homes with Christmas trees in the front window.
