good morning everyone!

Here it is starting another week. Today I'll head for Plattsburgh, (nearest city about 40 miles north) and pick up my new glasses. It's been five years since I had new glasses so I sure was ready for them. I also will take my laptop to visit the Geek Squad for a couple issues. I just got an notice from HP that apparently mine is one of the ones with a battery problem. I have noticed it gets very hot. Also my CD/DVD drive will not recognize commands any more. aaarrgghhh...sure hope this doesn't mean big bucks as it is not yet 2 years old until November.

Sure wish my camper wasn't parked in my back yard,... (and I only got home yesterday afternoon!) this "hitch itch" is really serious this summer. It will be until Sept. 2nd before I leave again for long weekend.

I hope everyone is gearing up for a good day,..... coffee's on,..... coke/pepsi in frige,.... and peach biscuits on the table. Grab a chair and a mug and a plate and enjoy! :D

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!!

NOT ONE MOUSE in my live traps this morning! Molly and I let one go at the pond last night in the rain, and reset the trap before we went to bed, but nothing this morning! I am also shutting the doors to the house at night now, and have closed the upstairs bedroom doors to the balconies. I suspect they are mainly getting in from the screened porch as there is no screening between the floor boards out there and there are mouse-sized gaps. So far, a total of seven mice have been released.

I was going to update my Windows XP, but it wanted me to shut down all other programs so I canceled. Now I don't see the option to update any more----sigh----hope it comes back, as I love XP and the service pack 3 seems to address many little bugs it came with....especially the one where it doesn't recognize my CD player/recorder any more on this old computer.

Rain and mist again this morning. Perhaps this would be a good day to go shopping one last time before school begins next Tuesday----I had thought we go back on Monday, but the 1st is Tuesday, so I have one more day than I had thought. I should schedule an appointment with my trailer dealer to have it gone over and winterized this year, although I did just fine with it last fall. Would like them to replace the grease nipple cover gaskets on my do-it-yourself hubs.

Of course, there are always clothes and closets to sort through, also. ACK!

Bunnies and two deer got Molly and me up in the trailer this morning as she spotted them at sunrise! And I was surprised to see at least one deer grazing on what blueberries are left out there----have never seen them eat blueberries before.

I spent a wonderful evening listening to copies of CDs on RVing that Connie let me copy while she was here while sitting on the screened porch in the pouring rain!

Happy Monday to all.

Good Morning Every one. Another cool day here. Yesterday never did warm up. Today is laundry and bill paying day. Such fun. And the Satellite installer just sent an email that the dish isn't here yet so he can't come today. Throws a wrench in our plans. Oh well.
Bill just finished something else for Jennie - ????? - and wants me to check it out. He says I forgot to take pictures of the holders he made for the pens and dry eraser and his shaver - shame on me. Best go see what he built. Later.

Morning all, I usually don't get on so early and clean up the leftovers in the kitchen. Thanks for the peach biscuits and coffee Cedar.

Today, I'm doing a dump run with whatever can't be recycled and the garbage men won't take. My garage is really clean and looks so large now. Too bad the camper can't fit.

School start dates are scattered here, with the last ones on Thursday of last week. I think it is safe to get into the stores again. I hate crowds. Off to do my errands.

Travel safely through your day . Linda

It is a lovely cool morning, maybe I should say cold because I am sitting here in a sweatshirt in AUGUST. I love it but it is very strange for this time of the year.
We had an interesting Saturday evening. We heard about a small town picnic which wasn't too far from us and my DH said he had been there before so I didn't check directions. Mistake!! After an hour of driving down country roads that had no sign for the place we were looking for, the THIRD person we asked (not counting the two teenagers who swore they had never heard of it) said I'm going that way you can follow me. Well, come to find out the place is so small there is no sign indicating the road to turn down. The only thing there was a very old building that was home to the first college in Illinois, a bar and a lovely little park where the picnic and tractor show was going on. They had concession stands selling fried chicken & fish. Not bad when washed down with an icy cold can of Stag beer. Seemed to be the drink of choice with the locals so hey we tried it. The tractor show was over by the time we found the place but several were still parked around. Guess they also had a driving contest. Our friends were there and we had a good evening that was worth the frustrating hunt for the place.

GOOD MORNING ALL!
We have another unusual and wonderful weather day on tap here. High only in the mid 80s. May have to scrap some of my indoor tasks just to get outside a bit today. Plenty of chores to go around either place. Now if I would just tackle a few of them instead of just thinking about it.
Spent yesterday with my sister. She is still in such a daze over loss of husband. I am worried about her. She has finally agreed to let me bring har to town tomorrow for the day. Am hoping that getting out for a while will help.
Safe travel wishes to all who are out and about.

Good Morning everybody out there! Very nice 77degrees here right now. Makes me want to open up the windows and get a breeze going through the house, but I'll wait as it's supposed to be around 90 later.

Cedar, those peach biscuits sure do sound good, thanks for opening the kitchen this morning.

Not sure what will go on here today, need to check on rv lift so Mitch will quit bugging me!   (not that I'm not anxious too!) Go get Hommie's nieces PE uniforms and he wants me to help wash his truck. He does a really good job of it himself, only the top half is still dirty. :o

Well, I'm going to read the rest of the morning posts and get on with the day,,, hmmmm maybe I could get a nap later,,,,,

Good Morning One and All! Beth arrived yesterday and we have plunged her right into working today. At this altitude she's going to be worn out..ask Echo and Kelly! Yesterday was my Birthday, (does that deserve a Capital Letter?) and Beth, Alien Rox and I had dinner. As usual at this altitude I couldn't eat, but I've got it in my fridge at home and when I get a twinge of hunger I'll be at it. I got a speeding ticket last week which I am going to fight. Whether or not I get off I'm going to put in a complaint about the way it was done. The officer came up to the passenger side window and told me to pull father over onto the verge. So I ended up at an acute angle. He told me it might be a while while he checked my licence, and not to leave my vehicle, so I turned off my engine and read. Then I heard him yell, Jean! Jean! I looked in the passenger side mirror and he yelled, Come here!. I had to heave the truck door up and out and step out into the traffic lane, walk back, and he handed me the paper and said, here's your ticket. He wouldn't take the time to walk to my vehicle to give it to me. How rude!

Sparkle - HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY Birthday!

I'm sorry I missed it!
Don't you think your Alien Friend could have sent us a telepathic thought to remind us.
Jeez, what good is having an Alien Pal if she can't help you in times of need.
And couldn't she have put some sort of Alien Hex on that copper?
Serve him right for bein' a jerk.

Anyway, hope it was a Great Birthday (yup, sure does deserve a CAPITAL B)!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SPARKLE, don't know if you remember me , but I remember you, when I first joined the "other" forum , you had a big ole motorhome that was giving you some motor trouble . The story I remember , you broke down and ended up spending a couple of days with the family that was fixing your home . It was not a funny time but by the time you finished relating your circumstances you had us all in hysterics. All I could think of at the time was , how would I have reacted in :D that situation , and sadly to say , it wouldn' t have been a funny story. You have a unique way of looking at situations that is truly special. Hope you have'nt lost your edge, have a wonderful Birthday and enjoy all your blessings. Betty

Happy Birthday Sparkle! Glad Beth made it there ok and has jumped right in. Carol and I are heading south toward home...currently on the Blue Ridge Parkway trying to eke out the last bit of cool weather. Hope you all have a great end of season at the North Rim.
