SINGLE MOUSE SUNDAY
Posted: Sun Aug 23, 2009 7:35 am
GOOD MORNING ALL!!!
Only a single mouse I released this morning at the old saw mill site, (I had 4 yesterday and one the day before) and perhaps they really ARE getting back here almost before I do, as someone said yesterday, but I think it's a long way for them to navigate back. Molly positively DROOLS as I take the trap into the kicker with her! She is the greatest mouse hunter EVER! Must be her Dingo genes coming out! The other trap was sprung, but nothing in it....I found some steel wool in it which had gotten under the little lever that is to hold it shut----fixed it for tonight.
Misty, sort-of rainy morning here, but at 64 degrees, it feels wonderful. Painting will have to wait today unless the sun comes out. Sigh....guess it will be indoor sorting and weeding out stuff here today.
My son and daughter-in-law-to-be (diltb in text language?? ACK!!) called me last night saying they had finally painted the inside of the house where they had to make all the repairs to the walls that the tenants wrecked. I can't wait to see some pics of what it looks like now. They are really excited about their little house down there, and the fact that they can pretty much do to with it whatever they want. My father would be SO happy to know his final major purchase was being enjoyed and appreciated so much. The next step is to make a workbench for the garage they've cleared out and organized so they can make some furniture and begin replacing some siding on the outside that has a bit of dry rot. They are really nesting---now then, WHERE ARE THOSE GRANDKIDS I AM WAITING FOR??
Pull up a chair and share your morning with us all. Coffee is hot and hazlenut, and I am sure some of Barb's goodies are still around here somewhere!
Cedar says the bluegrass is the best of the summer, and I sort of regret not going but am also enjoying the last week off just doing nothing at this point.
Happy sunday to you all! Hope to see a bunch of posts in here today so we all know who's where and doing what!
