Good morning Barbzee, and all! So good to see you in your kitchen! I also love your bowling pins! Can't wait for them to be all down so Saturday is back!
I just HATE it when I lose an entire post to cyberspace! I NEVER preview or hit submit any more without copying the entire thing first---in case!
The pig roast dinner was great, Barb----although I had chicken as I don't like pig! They served roasted chicken or roasted pork (they had it on that spit all day long!), cole slaw, baked beans, rolls and butter, lemonade or coffee, and cookies for dessert. They do this a few time a year here, and it's always good. Then they have a lively DJ with great dance music for two hours in the large lodge hall, and everybody joins in for that fun.....from little kids to great grandmas! (Great grandpas tend to watch----sorry guys----that's just how are!)
I need to vacuum my truck, I know, and clean the pine pollen off all the interior surfaces. The outside could use a good hosing down, as well. The last time I went home to check on my cat, the pollen on the porch phonograph was so thick it looked to be fluffy yellow! But, when I swiped it, it felt sharp and gritty----no wonder it makes people sneeze!
It's just at about freezing level here this morning, with the temperature at 31 deg. F. The sun is coming out bright and warm, however. I can't believe what a perfect camping weekend this has been! I started my furnace to get the chill out of the inside, and now I'm running my Little Buddy heater to keep it just right. I am having coffee, then need to stow my loose stuff inside, crank up my stabilizers, hook up, disconnect power and cable, and haul myself home. Then reverse all that to get me set up in my yard again. I am never totally sad to be heading home, as my own campsite is as beautiful as any other places I may go. The only drawback on that home side of the mountain is that they don't treat our streams to kill black fly larvae any more, even though our streams were the tests to see how it works! We had NO black flies those years they used the BTI in our streams, as they have none over here on the Wilmington side. It appears to check mosquitoes, too, as while over here, I have needed NO insect repellants of any sort. Back home, I will be getting attacked as soon as I step out of the truck.
Wherever you all are today, and whatever you are doing, I hope you all have a wonderful day doing it. Back to school I must go tomorrow, for another whole month before summer vacation. Sigh...I can't WAIT for that last day for the season!
Happy trails from me and Molly
