Mornin' Ladies!
I remembered. Did you? ;)

Spent 5 days in Galveston and now up in Livingston for one night and to get my mail. Heading towards LA tonight. Finally out of Texas after a month.

Nothing really new or exciting here.

Morning Cheryl and All, I said rabbits after midnight. Weather is windy, high in low 80°so very nice. Too bad the porch is covered in pollen. Did laundry yesterday so today will water 12 houseplants then IPad time. Need to mail a birthday card got #7 great grandson who will be 3. I always carry my cell when outdoors in case I get into trouble. I would be safe without since there are cameras around the outside. SIL can keep an eye on me and His buddy, Garfield. lol Tine to check in with Edith. Be safe

Good morning Cheryl and all!

Cheryl, have a good time on this trip. Judy, I hope the humidifier helps you. What Karen said about the altitude could be part of your problem. Beth, it's good to hear you are back in the casita and thank you for helping Lyn get back here. Sheila, you're getting lots done at your mother's house. Karen, be careful hauling those heavy bags of soil around. Sue, you're getting your yard ready for spring and summer. Lyn, it's so good seeing you here. Catherine, you're getting ready for a big move. Martha, we aren't getting any of the rains you are getting, and we sure could use some. Shirl, it's always good reading your cheery posts.

It is warm here in central FL, topping off in the high 80's to low 90's. About half the days in April were above 90. We did get just over a 1/2" of rain Monday evening, but that's all we've had in several months. Much of the state of FL is in a draught right now. Our hurricane season opens June 1st and I'm keeping my fingers crossed we'll be safe here, but if we need to evacuate, we will.

We will be taking two short vacations, one in May and one in June. The first trip we'll be staying on the Homosassa River, arriving after church and leaving that Friday to be back in time for the next church service. The 2nd will be in June, staying at Margaritaville in Auburndale FL, with the same schedule as the first. We're looking forward to getting away.

Since the weather is so nice, we've been spending lots of time in the pergola. We have a TV out there and we also take a book.

I remembered to say rabbits! Have a good day!

Good morning. Remembered Rabbits this morning only because I woke up at 5 and Emma was still sleeping so didnt talk to her. As I lay there I went RABBITS RABBITS. Silly me. Irmi too late about my back. It is hurting this morning so will take some Motrin and Tylenol with my breakfast. It is going to be hot here today 85° so there will be no outside work today and can rest it. It wasnt hurting when I woke up but tweaked it when I bent over for something this morning. Hopefully it will work it's issues out. I need to take Emma to the groomer this morning but other than that nothing planned. I have to baby my back every once in a while and most of the time I really haven't done anything to it. If needed will put the heating pad on it when I get back from the groomer but hopefully my chemical warfare will kick in by then.

My friend that I stay with in Medford is from England and she doesnt like anything cold. In the morning I have coffee and she has warm water. Yuck. I like lots of ice too with my drinks. I guess I dont worry too much about the artificial sweeteners. I dont drink alot of soda's or sweet drinks anyway but I guess I figure I am going to die anyway so sugar vs sweeteners ya never know. They used to say coffee was BAD now they say coffee is GOOD. Eggs bad now eggs good. I cant keep up so I just eat and drink what I want when I want in moderation.

I bought a small container of strawberries and they are the biggest strawberries I have seen in a long time so better slice them up today and I hope they are sweet. I will be happy to harvest my own strawberries this year. This is year 2 for them and they are doing great, lots of blossoms and with the heat coming they should start producing soon. I need to fertilize them and my blueberries this week. This coming week I will go get my tomato plants and also plant my onions, beans, beets and an acorn squash that should do me for the gardening.

Took blackened salmon out for dinner with some fresh green beans and might throw a yam in the air fryer too. I still have quite a bit of my chicken casserole left so will divide and put in containers for the freezer. Good for a quick dinner or lunch.

Good morning Everybody. I’m checking in from Connecticut. I’ve been home for a month and am beginning to settle back into my life here.
Cheryl, I see that you are on the move. Any chance that you might make it all the way to New England? I would love to meet up. I’ll be home until late fall and I always enjoy having company. I still have my Roadtrek for another camping season anyway and have several local campouts lined up with the LoWs (Loners on Wheels). Enjoy you day. Peggy

I’ve posted the last couple of days so you know I am still around! Didn’t say rabbits. Can’t remember to do so!
We’re experiencing “May Grey” all ready and it is only the first! So far the sun comes out in the afternoon and warms us up a little!
Softball tournaments all over the country. I like SEC games. Now many of them are on SEC+. Does anyone know how I get the +?

Darn humidifier I've had but not used for years turned out to one of those that heat Vicks into a warm mist. Of enough humidity to matter, so I am going to get rid of it. Very slowly coughing less, but the prednisone makes me feel shaky. Last pill tonight.

Just spent $41.00 at laundromat. Very large down comforter cost $9 to wash and slightly smaller one was $6.50. Luckily I only wash down one only once a year, and this year it got dirty from my leaving window slightly open during day storm! Then had one other large $6.50 load and smaller regular load. Plus few dryer loads at $4 each plus some extra quarters for the big comforter! Whew.

Glad to hear from folks

No Rabbits here. Forgot it was amay 1st. But thrn I had things on my mind this morning. Wanted to clean my bathroom and kitchen and review my finances and portfolio as had a meeting with a new financial advisor at Edward Jones this afternoon. Switching over from the otber one as I just didn’t feel comfortable with her. Don’t think she totally understands the needs and issues of older seniors that well. Hasn’t been an advisor that long, and is still earning her credentials and such. She knows investing but at this point might be better for those new to investing or working toward retirement etc. The new gal is a Certified Financial Planner and also specializes in Retirement planning. We went over everything with a fine tooth comb and things ok good. Suggested I sell of some shares of a couple of my Mutuals and put into another fund to build extra income if I need it. Definitely knows her stuff. Glad I switched.

Been a chilly, damp and rainy day. Good to just stay inside. But I had to go out. Dogs have pretty much been sleeping all day. Piper just took a quick potty trip and right back in. No walking today.

Cheryl, have a good summer of traveling. Karen, seems funny to read about you planting already when we are at least a month away. I need to get some dog-ward fence boards to finish the bottom of my ine raised bed, the I can move them out side and get some dirt to fill in. Warm up coming next week, so will probably do it then. Lyn, glad you are back aboard. Irmi, sounds like a couple nice trips you have lined up. Judy, I like your book ideas.

Neighbor was telling me about all the tree destruction Thry saw on a ride yesterday. All our beautiful forest are pretty much destroyed. But we have our memories. It will be at least 40 years or more before they return to the state they were in before the ice storm. Same can be said for those destroyed by wildfires, but we still have the u tact trees, just have to wait and see how they recover. Be interesting to see how much leaf canopy if any, there will be this summer. Will depend on the area. Found out they are clearing the snowmobile across the highway here, so we will have that back for our walks in the woods. State parks are slowly starting to open again as debris is cleared.

Ti e to get dishes done. Have a nice evening all.

I didn’t remember to say “rabbits” either but checked in. Been spending my day trying to manage the possibility that I’ll require hip replacement surgery. Kaiser has me scheduled for so many tests and doctor appointments I can’t keep track of them. I have to meet with surgery people, a doctor who will give me a cortisone injection and somewhere along the line I’ll see the surgeon who will do the surgery if they decide to go ahead with it. I’ve had x-rays and an MRI. So far the only complaint they have is that I don’t weigh enough! I’m very concerned about after the surgery because of the design of my house. Technically, it has 4 levels if you count the garage at the lowest level. I have no idea how I’ll get from one level to another and do everything to please the dogs. Maybe I shouldn’t have walked 2,983 miles in the last year and nine months.

My older dog, Abby, the grey and white one, has kidney disease and I have to feed her special food with a large syringe twice a day. That requires sitting on the floor, feeding the large syringe to her then getting up off the floor, refilling it and then sitting down to give her the second full syringe. I love her so much though I’ll do it. I hope I’ll be able to sit on the floor, get up for more and then sit back down. Both dogs love to go on walks. My daughter lives about 30 miles away and has a very demanding job so I don’t want to bother her. No sense worrying now since they haven’t even said “it’s a go.”

Everyone stay safe and pretty quickly we’ll be able to enjoy summer.

Sandi

I started a reply early this morning. Got interrupted and am starting over. Sandi, I totally understand your worries with the dogs. TY has never spent a night without me since I rescued him. I've always had a friend or friends who could help if necessary but now none close, so it's a worry, for sure. I know Ginger, my friend in Benson, would step up if necessary but I should talk to her, just in case.

I learned today that Benson has a free senior lunch on Fridays. I'm not sure what time my RV service guys are coming but if it works out I'll go. I'll have to put it on my weekly schedule.

I love reading all the messages on the 1st. Great to catch up with so many of you. And, I did say rabbits on my first potty break after midnight. Surprised me.

happy may day!!!!
did anyone ever do the May Pole??? we didn't it wasn't part of our traditions although had heard of it and always wanted too...
did say RABBITS I usually say it just after midnight forgot last night but did on my way to the potty
have all the surfaces in mom's room cleaned off the perimeter close to being done have to get some of the stuff moved as well as what is left on the bed... basically know where it is going just need to do it niece and nephew boxed up the books now I need to move the hummingbird figurines of the top of the book case that sister in law is taking... perhaps someone will want one or two but rather doubt it... I swear she had so much Christmas decorations some never opened... trying to get it all into the garage so people can go through it not sure if it's all out there yet or not...hopefully they will leave room for my car  right now niece has it as their pickup is hooked up to the trailer so she can make a quick run to the land fill
and tonight I tossed pictures into small bins some I don't know so will need to take a picture of those and get help from other members of the family... the ones that are family pictures of me and my siblings are going into another spot so we can figure out what to do with them later... I've always all my life felt over weight I am finding that was a misconception :(
it was good to hear from everyone... to have the catch up
Shirl it's good to hear from you always good you are so chipper
Lyn so glad you are still able to get on
How are your blueberries doing Karen you will have to take pictures of them... I always wanted to grow some but the soil in Utah was just too or not enough not sure which... or of what  Beth I think that is a concern always of not having someone close enough to help ...
Sandi that is an impressive number of miles... very impressive will hope that they can help you without surgery for a period of time... as I think getting up and off the floor is going to be difficult for a period of time...
Sue here is hoping for the best when it comes to the trees budding out and doing their thing...
Irmi those trips sound like they will be fun... and sitting out in the pergola would be really nice...
Judy here is hoping that you continue healing
You all have a great day

Meant to check in yesterday, but usually don’t turn on my iPad until bedtime, and last night it was too late. Day before yesterday I started going through boxes of stuff I took out of the rv in preparation to sell it. I went through 3 boxes, sorting things to keep, yard sale stuff, and trash. I ended up with one large container to keep, 3 items for upcoming community-wide yard sale coming up end of May, and a handful of stuff to trash. There are many more things to go through, but haven’t got back to it. Also dragging my feet on broadening my listing of the rv for sale. I think there’s a message there, so praying about it. I d knowi have to be vigilant in maintains it; not letting it sit unused. So today I’m driving it to the Community Center to play pool (billiards) with a friend, lol. I did show it to an elderly resident in the Village who was interested. He was hoping his power wheelchair would fit inside. I convinced him it would be a lot more practical to have his minivan modified since he had no interest in camping.

Last year I decided to give up on vegetable gardening other than my inside hydroponic garden because the wild critters ate everything before I could. Deer, raccoons, caterpillars, possums, etc. so I concentrated on my front flower/butterfly garden. I bought some already blooming plants to give it a head start while the perennials regrow after the winter freeze. Everything was looking great until the deer found them in the night. They ate all the new plants down to the roots, including two hanging plants! Decided not to buy more for them to eat.

The Village is doing some preventive maintenance before hurricane season this year….removing many more tall pines threatening homes…something they should have done last year after lessons from the year before. They are also starting to remove hundreds of stumps left from previous storms. They must have received some large donations.

Other than all that depressing news, I am keeping too busy to be depressed. I’m still able to do my 3 volunteer jobs, almost every week there are appointments to go to which involve driving to Lake City, Gainesville, or Valdosta. We go out for lunch quite often.

Time to get my day started. :D

Sue, reading your post made me sad thinking of the generations of people who will miss the beautiful forests that were destroyed by the storm. I also wish I could find an Edward Jones financial advisor like the one you have I feel very uncomfortable with ours. I need to check around for someone else. instead of grumbling.
I think I have written about it before but lately a few people have mentioned back issues and thought I would suggest it again about learning how to bend over without hurting your back. Most people in the US bend over with their back in a 'cashew' position which incorrect. Before you bend push your hips back (think looking sway backed) and then bend straightening your back as you go downward. This is a basic yoga lesson and there are several videos on how to bend without hurting or injuring yourself online. Or if anyone would like I could do a WhatsApp session with you to guide you through the correct way.

BJ you are so right about the bending. In the hospital we had to take a class "body mechanics" each year on correct procedures for bending and moving heavy patients in bed. I practice this all the time. My back is still sore today but think I might have tweaked it doing nothing LOL this happens every once in a while by just turning wrong or sleeping wrong. My back is better today than yesterday but still tweaky. So will just rest it again today. Don't feel the need for drugs today. I was going to use my big vacuum today but instead will send Henry so no pushing and pulling of the heavy one. I was also going to wash my car but since it might rain tonight or tomorrow I will wait until Monday or Tuesday. Otherwise just going to cut up my strawberries and make sloppy joes. I have a banana I should use soon so will make a strawberry banana smoothie and freeze it so then I have a homemade blizzard.

So nice to see so many posting. Always good to know everyone is doing pretty well. I like to have a project each day....sometimes a bigger one and other times something small. Keeps me moving and I feel like I did something. Today will only be something small, like sorting thru a pile of documents/mail. Yesterday we hit a high of 86 turned my AC on about 5 for a couple of hours. Today we will be cooler 68 with sun tho, and remain cool thru the weekend then we heat up a bit more this week mostly the 70's and 80 on Tuesday.

well I better get cooking and get a shower.
