Tues Morn April 29

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tues Morn April 29

The month is almost over. Still projects I want to do in the casita, but today I'll start working on cleaning and organizing the RV since someone will be de-winterizing it and doing a few maintenance tasks for me today. Money I hate spending, but necessary as I don't do those tasks any more. It's good to have Lyn back posting. Sheila, streets here aren't all the same but mine has, I think 42 sites. Many sites aren't occupied in the summer so how many to read and then delivery to vary. I will not always, and didn't this time, do my street but was given another. This time I only had one street. Last summer in various months I was given anywhere from 1 to 3 streets. It all depends on how many volunteers are signed up to do it and I've let it be known I'm fine with more. I just take breaks as necessary in the heat of the summer when assigned more. I needed to get my exercise so it's a good task for me. Speaking of exercise, time to walk TY while temps are still cool.

Still wheezing and some coughing. Should I go back to urgent care tomorrow??? Getting tired of being stuck inside and I need to do laundry. Maybe go on Thursday if not better?

Afternoon Beth. I have been running errands this morning and spending money LOL I had to go to Costco for a few things but did not wander the aisles. So got what I needed and still got out of there for under $100 which is very unusual. I needed to get some more Blackened Salmon, paper supplies and a rotisserie chicken. Had some of that for lunch....made Emma happy. Will probably have a bit more for dinner then tomorrow make a chicken casserole with stove top stuffing to freeze for some quickie reheats.

Had Henry vacuum the family room, living room, and dining room while I was out. Left Emma home to babysit him LOL While I was unloading the groceries there was a cat lying in the sun on my driveway. I left Emma inside. So when I went out to get the last of it Emma dashed out the door and she usually never leaves the deck. But that darn cat had jumped in the back of my car and jumped out and Emma was off like a shot. Fortunately she understands COME so only chased it across the street and came when I called her. She loves cats but if they run she is on it. She wouldnt do anything but scare it.

Judy you probably have all the meds they would give you anyway. Probably have to let them do their thing for a few days but if you feel you need to go then you should. Only you can decide that.

I’ve been having a rough time. Looks like hip surgery may be in my rather-near future. Don’t know for sure yet. That will really mess with walking my two dogs. The three of us enjoy it so much. I wonder if it’s all the walking we do that’s caused the current problem. Or is it because I’m getting old? I don’t like to think about either one of those. I wear a Fitbit that tracks my distance walking. In the last year and a half the dogs and I walked 2,983 miles - the distance equivalent to across North Africa from the Atlantic Ocean to the Red Sea. Even with all the tests, x-rays, and MRI they’ve been giving me I enjoy getting out so much we keep going. In fact, we just returned from today’s third walk. Gotta keep going!

I read every day and love hearing about what everyone is doing.

Sandi, I wish you all the best. I try to walk as much as possible because of one hip. The hope is to keep me from needing surgery. So I totally understand where you're coming from.

Tough day. The workers cans to take care of things on my RV. I like this service and they did more than I asked, but we found extra problems. Overall I was happy with the amount charged. But! I was told to watch for any water leaks. I went out and saw water leaking and went inside and my toilet was overflowing. Nothing was done to the toilet! I turned off the water to the RV, emptied the black tank, dried the floor and checked the storage compartment that got slightly damp. Then called the service tech. Hw returned my call in just a couple minutes and we discussed what some possibilities are. He's trying to rearrange his schedule to get back here tomorrow. I actually told him whenever, as I have the casita and will survive if it's a couple days. It might be time for a new toilet. Unfortunately it's nothing they did wrong and I'm betting it'll cost a much or more than today did. And it still needs new tires.

I hate disappointing my sister and the friends I'm hoping to see in June, but it might just happen.

On top of all that TY has decided he can and will go over the gate at the door to the casita whenever he feels like it. So I'll be calling the handyman I like, hopefully he's still around, and it's time to get and install a screen door.

I can't leave Luna in the same room with the roomba because she attacks it. She is with the cats all the time but if one will run she will chase it. I laughed at her this morning. Two cats were laying in the yard of the old house and she took off like a bullet after them. They never moved and she had to do a u-turn when she got to them.

I took one of the orange kittens to the local vet to be neutered. I won't do that again. He is about 4 times higher than the spay and neuter clinic in Lafayette. Went to Walmart to pick up a few things and get a pool noodle for this weekend. They are almost alway out of the kind of coke I like but didn't feel like stopping at another store. I'm sure I'll think of something to go to town for tomorrow. I had to get two of the spring loaded small curtain rods to hold the drawers under my beds in the motorhome closed when I'm on the road. Who ever installed the latches must have not known what he was doing. None of them will hold the drawers closed. I put baby latches on one of them and need to put that on all of them.

I posted the picture of the snake in the rose bed to one of the Facebook identification sites and it was a rat snake. I didn't think it was poisonous.

Sandi, sorry you are having hip problems. Most people do really well after the surgery but it's the idea of it. When my mother-in-law broke her hip she through she was a goner. When she was growing up a broken hip was the end for most people. When she figured out she was going to live after the surgery she got up and lived another 10 years.

I went out for a couple of hours, taking the shuttle to the end of the canyon, and then walking a while, but I got really tired and did not make it to the end. Came back with only one coughing fit in the bus, but called a friend in NY and at the end of the conversation really got to the kind of coughing fit where you cannot catch your breath. It is really scary. Hung up on call and finally settled down by breathing very slowly to as not to set off cough. No fever, though a bit of a sore throat, but while I can go maybe a half hour or hour without coughing, when i do cough it is hard to stop and it is hard to catch my breath, plus my stomach and chest are getting sore.

Will wait until Thursday to go into St. George and go to urgent care, pick up a few groceries, and do some laundry.

before I forget about it ... Sandi my brother in law had hip replacement a few years back he is golfing still not sure how long it kept him from golfing just do what they say and they say that it's an easier operation than knee replacement or shoulder replacement... and that is a lot of miles in a year!!!! good for you
Beth I have been going to ask you if you were staying in the casita or in the motor home think I know... that is too bad that you might need to replace the toilet if you do might look into a chair height one... easier to get up from...
Hope you get to feeling better soon Judy
Martha it's good that Luna gets along with the kitties
Karen thanks for telling me how you do the pie... the one I saw had the pie filling and the filling mixed up ... I had wondered how much of it to use...
worked on mom's room today... I keep thinking that one day it will look like somethings been done... and I guess it looks like it but that bed is still covered!!!! and not just with bedding  however the drawers are all emptied the bins with stamps and stuff of that nature is out the jewelry is also gone... brother put them into bins coins ect into other bins and the found 750 dollars in currency is tucked away till he can get it to the bank... so I guess stuff was done the firearm still hasn't been found... I actually think she either didn't have it or got rid of it some how... I need to be busy the next few days ... sister in law is coming on Sat to get the furniture out of the room or at least most of it... there is a unit and a metal table that aren't part of it like I told brother that I don't think we need to clean them out till after the rest is gone then worry about the closets and those two things
you all have a great day

Just wanted to check in and see if I am still able to post! I continue to check on the Big Bear. Eagles chicks. They are growing quite big. Flapping their wings, hopping around the nest.
parents leave them alone for longer and longer periods.
As my older daughter did not want to sell nor rent her condo. Laurie an I check it for her every two weeks. That’s what is on my schedule today. Lyn
