Good early afternoon, and happy Easter Bunny Day! :D

Been a little lazy so far, but do have the trash ready to go out. Then dump tanks and clean stuff up. The cat sitter is coming by this week to see what she needs to do while I am gone. Need this place to look someone clean and organized.

I checked the nest out the window this morning and it looks like the doves are moving back in! There are pine needles and things on top of the moss I put in there. Yay! The cats were intently looking out the screen door this morning so I looked to see what they were watching. The doves were mating again by my steps! :o

Just got an Amazon package. Got my bottle of black tank sensor cleaner. I want to put that in just before I leave, so it has time to do it's thing by the time I get back. It says to let it sit in a clean full tank for 3 days. Hopefully, it works.

It is warming back up again, with highs in the mid 80's this week. It was cold enough last night tho, that I actually had to turn the furnace on! Just have the windows open right now. Not much of a breeze today so I have a fan running. Will probably have to turn on the AC in a couple hours. Glad it cools off at night tho.

Looks like it will be in the low to mid 70's in Sedona when I am there, so that is nice and comfortable! Cathy was wondering what she should pack for clothes. I told her "a little bit of everything!".

The Sedona books I got are very interesting! One is just a travel guide for what to see and do there, with colored photos, maps and directions. The other 2 are about the vortexes. First one was good. The second one is much more detailed, a little too much tho. Too much scientific stuff, but there are some interesting meditations, etc in it.

Beth, take your time and enjoy the scenery! Your casita will be there no matter what day you arrive! Glad your eyes cleared up!
I need to get my eyes checked again. I think my last prescription is wrong. Just got it last July and have since had trouble reading road/street signs until I am only about 3 car lengths away. I have to use my GPS to see what the street names/exits are that I am coming up to. Not good when I am in an unfamiliar area.

I better get the trash to the dumpster and get the tanks dumped soon... Have a good day what ever you have planned.

Happy Easter! Nice that you are cleaning up a you do, Sue. I'm stopped at a rest area where TY can get a pretty good walk and sniffing going. I'm not in any hurry with less than an hour and a half to go to today's motel. I was hoping to see a message from Lyn. She hasn't been able to sign in so I checked and she was, as she said, locked out from too many tries. To be safe I changed her password just one added character and then logged in as her, having to do the extra steps after her being locked out, and got it working. Asked her to try today and let me know if problems. Haven't heard anything, but maybe she's busy with family and Easter.

Happy Easter Sunday to all."

The time has come, the Walrus said, to bring you up to date on the latest edition of “Where’s Liz?” and fill you in on the changes in my life. First I want to let you all know that although I haven’t posted very often, I do check in almost daily and follow what’s happening in your lives. You still do fill my heart with joy.

Anyway this past year has held many challenges that have slowed me down considerably, although I count myself blessed that God has seen me through them day by day, and without knowing it, you have helped too.

January 2024 started with cancer, surgery, and several weeks of recovery, followed by months of construction repairs on the house following Aug. 2023 Hurricane Idalia. That involved 2 new carports, new roof on house, new ceilings inside, etc. Work was completed just before the 2024 hurricanes began, 3 of them in succession. We were fortunate not to have much damage to our home i those, but we did have to evacuate for them. The Village was hit hard again and many homes had damage from fallen trees. Most of our trees were already down, and we had several other large ones removed before the hurricanes hit.

It was during this time, August-October, that I noticed Bob was having difficulty with cognitive issues like confusion and memory. So began a round of doctor visits, referrals to therapists other specialists and finally a neurologist who finally diagnosed Alzheimer’s, which is what I suspected all along. So I have been learning and navigating the role of caretaker. He has also gotten very weak so is now using a walker. He gave up driving and sold his truck willingly, so that made it easy for me. We are having a platform lift installed in the carport up to the landing, as it is getting hard for him to climb the stairs.

So it won’t surprise you that there hasn’t been many hikes and hardly any kayaking the whole year. Also the RV has not had much use at all. So I took it to the RV dealer where I bought it and had it checked all over, making sure all systems are working like new. The result was new engine and house batteries, starter, solar controller, inverter, toilet replaced, kitchen faucet replaced, etc. I decided to put it up for sale while it is restored to perfect condition, as I don’t want to go through that again, and I’m pretty sure there won’t be any trips coming up for me. Someone else should enjoy the benefits of it. I have advertised it here in the Village newspaper, but don’t expect much from that. Most everyone else here is old too. I will post it here and on my FB page and RV groups next in case anyone is interested or knows someone who is.

Fortunately Bob is still in the mild/moderate stage of dementia and we are not experiencing the worst of possibilities. They have a monthly support group for caregivers here which I have joined. It makes me realize how fortunate we are compared to some. Bob will be 92 in August, so we will enjoy what we can of each day. I’m so thankful for my faith in God; He keeps me going on the path set before me and gives me peace for the journey.

Thanks for being my friends and are still there.

Liz, I'm sorry to hear of me challenges with Bob. If there's anything I can help with from so far away please don't hesitate to ask. I'd also be interested in the RV, but I highly doubt it would be in my price range and logistics could be quite interesting. That said, I never say never, so I'll look for more info from you.

Good evening and hope you all had a Happy Easter. I enjoyed my day and dinner at the neighbors house. My electrician and his gal were there too. Also his stepson Chris and wife. Chris painted my house and helped his step dad with all the other chores and modifications I had done when I moved in. So thankful for both of them. Came home and changed into my "fat clothes". LOL so sweats and sweatshirt is now the dress of choice. Took the dog out and then fed her so she is now snuggled next to me in the recliner. So a fun day for sure.

TY has no trouble adjusting to motel life. I said it's bedtime and first he went under the covers but realized shortly it wasn't cold enough in here and crawled up:

Happy Easter!

I got a text from Walmart this morning that I had a prescription ready to pick up. Since I hadn't picked up anything to cook today I decided to go to Walmart to pick up my prescription and a ham slice. The two grocery stores in town were closed so everyone was at Walmart. Ran into a lady I use to work with so we had to catch up on things.

Liz, sorry to hear you have had so many problems. Sorry to hear about Bob's health problems. Being a caregiver is so hard.

I started the motorhome and let it run for a while to make sure the battery is charged. Before I can start loading I need to unload a bunch of things. I didn't unload the Christmas stuff when I camped in January. I should have turned the refrigerator on to see if it is still working.

Happy Easter
so sorry Liz that you've had so much going on not a fun year at all ... it sounds like you have a good support there in the Village.... and we are always here even though miles away we can always express our thoughts... and send prayers your way
I wonder how many had ham steak today???
Barbie it sounds like you are getting everything ready to go ... how many days will you be gone
I think for the most part our fur babies adjust easily just as long as "mom" is close by ... when do you plan on getting to your casita Beth
hoping Lyn is able to get on been wondering about her so very glad it's been a case of not being able to get on... I was fearful and wondered if family knows to let us know about her... news we never want to hear
Sue is the energizer bunny
Martha where are you going on your next camping trip?
Liz if I had my inheritance I would be interested as well
Karen it sounds like you had a great day

Liz, I'm so, so, sorry for all the hard times you have had to deal with and it's sad to hear about Bob's diagnosis. It was such a blessing for you to have met him and had these wonderful years together, even though it was rather short. It's very hard to make all the decisions alone, but know you are in a lot of prayers. Please keep us posted.

Liz, I second all of the supportive posts that others have written on here.

I enjoyed reading of your travels, and I enjoyed reading of your settling in Florida, and of meeting your Bob.

So sorry to read that you are having such troubles. My heart goes out to you.

Been busy past week with my California son and his family. I drove all the way from Arizona through southern California, picking up my DILs mother in Modesto, and then to Southern Oregon where we met my son and his family, with one extra teenager along for the trip. Went to two plays in Ashland, and spent six days, then headed back to drop DILs mother in Modesto, and now I am on my way to Las Vegas and Zion for 12 days. Basically, i have been worn out!

I drove a very long day yesterday and then did three big loads of laundry last night, so today, I drove a lot less. Whew! Also did a lot of cleaning and changing beds last night. Going to need the rest in Zion.

I've been reading posts, however, about the storms and Liz's husband's problems. Hard for all of to get older, and I am feeling more aches and get tired more easily, so will be looking for a condo or small house this summer in Ohio. Still plan to keep motorhome, at least for a while, as giving up traveling is hard for me.

Now to do some catching up on my blog.
