FANTASTIC FRIDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

FANTASTIC FRIDAY

GOOD MORNING ALL!!

Thinking about you this morning, Barb-----hope you are somewhere comfortable and healing nicely. Keep in touch whenever you are able.

I heard on the news this morning that Daytona Beach has had over 6.5 inches of rain this past week! Floods everywhere. I sure hope people aren't flooded in their home due to roads being closed.....that's very scary. Keep us posted, those of you in FL, please. Perhaps trading in your RV for an arc is in order??

I am very happily ensconced in a beautiful site at the KOA outside of Lake Placid. I took some pics of this place this morning, which I will download to Photobucket later and add to the general talk forum. Right now I am sitting outside the trailer under huge, tall white pine trees at my picnic table. my MP3 player playing on my portable speaker system----all my most favorite CDs I put on it-----right now Woodstock of the 60s is playing, after Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb."

Molly loves it here, as there is so much to see and investigate, including a little tailless chipmunk that some other critter must have ripped off! I hope to get a shot of him, as a tailless chipmunk is rather peculiar-looking! And they now have a great fenced-in dog play area where she can go free every so often. The dog-walk trail is also very beautiful, meandering through the woods with strategically placed trash barrels and plastic bags for pick-up.

Not very many people here yet, but they are FULL after today. They had absolutely NO sites left last night, after I told them I wanted to change my reserved site from one without a cable connection to one with cable. So they opened up a 'saved' site for me to keep me from turning around and going somewhere else! I truly love the people around and the dogs and all of it, as I am so isolated all winter that being back in civilization, if only for a little while, is really wonderful. I am basically a hermit who DOES like people now and then, I suppose you could say.

I will drive back home today to make sure I closed my front door (I was going back in the house to get my guitar, but once I hauled to the driveway, I forgot!) get my guitar, my cell phone AC charger, Molly's little camping hut, and a few other odds and ends I forgot. Also I will check on Twitch, my cat, and give him some attention to let him know he's not abandoned.

I hope you all are having as good a weekend as I am! Weather couldn't be any more perfect so far. That's another thing I forgot----phone numbers! I don't use this cell phone at home as we have no service, so I don't have many numbers programmed into it. Sigh---so many things to consider!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Comfortably Numb...my favorite! Now folks, I know Soos went back to Thursday's Coffee, but if you haven't you've got to see Mitch's Alien Banana!
Paulette, of the 50 or so phone calls a day, 47 of them are great folks. Many of them ask to speak to whover did their reservation when they arrive. In helping them plan their vacation we form a bond. It's the nutty calls I collect. I'll check when the next full moon is due.
We had rain all night, which was great, because its all cleared up now for the vacationers. I'll take some pics of the Lodge and area.

Thinking of Barb also and hope she is resting and recovering.

Well it is another wonderful sunny day in the PNW. I am really starting to feel better. We had a horribly wet and cold spring/winter and fall and last summer was nothing to write home about either. I do like it here, I and as many others grew quite tired of the colder wetter year. Even many of the long time locals were complaining. The outlook is great for the weekend.

Today is homeschool co-op...then the afternoon brings dance and horseback riding. Then it home for the evening...I think. I haven't actually look at my day planner yet today.

Now an update on the cabinet doors saga. Well once we took it over...and started dealing with Crossroads directly. We will have 9 custom made cabinets on their way. They do not use those ones anymore due to quality issues..(DUH). So they have to special order and have some custom made. They hope to be able to drop ship them directly from the maker, as we leave June 18th for our big trip. They said it could be 3-4 weeks. So they put a rush on the order. It was funny after all the emails DH sent to crossroads to get this issue settled...as the RV service had basically dropped it when Crossroads told them they were discontinued cabinets. Then we began our process with Crossroads. The service dept who DH was CC each email he sent to Crossroads...actually called up DH and told him...
" Looks great, looks like WE got everything worked out" . Dh was very nice about it.

Good morning all. Leaving the Austin area today for San Antonio for 3 nights-staying at a KOA that we've been to before. Nice and right on the bus line so we don't have to drive in.

Thinking of you Barbz, and wishing you a fast recovery.

Soos, sounds like life is good. Love that area as used to go to camp in the summers on Saranac Lake and drive into Lake Placid for sundaes and ice skating. DH has 6 Pink Floyd tee shirts-his favorite group.

Well, now to disconnect electric and water, close up shop and head out on the road. carold
