Morning y’all. Beautiful sunny morning out there. Supposed to have clouds around too. High in upper 20’s. Not a bad forecast. Was a beautiful dsy yesterday too. Like Beth was saying about her weather, ours is taking it’s time warming up. Course nothibg like you gals in the south, but 30’s are a heat wave for us this time of year. The sun is warmer too, so that makes a difference.

Barbie, hope your lights you ordered work out for you. I don’t like those real bright white ones either, except in certain areas lke my garage or basement. Wow Shelia, things really got done at your place. Nice having that extra help. You mentioned making something to keep spices from gong to the back of the drawer. There are dividers and such out now days for that kind of situation. Check your dates on those spices too as some don’t last forever. Martha, glad you were able to get back on the forum. Spectrum was doing an upgrade in this area the other day and said our system would be down from midnight to noon yesterday, but possibly back before then. Was on when I got up yesterday morning, so that was nice. Tina, hard to believe those pups are ready for forever homes. Will be quieter at your house, but I’m sure your are ready to get back to some stage of normal. If there is such a thing  Beth, there’s a zillion things going on in northern MI in Winter and this year has been perfect. Ice fishing, snowmobiling, skiing, both downhill and cross country, snowboarding, snowshoeing, sleigh rides, Winter festivals, ice fishing contests, the list is endless. I’m seeing a lot of post comments where people are saying they have really been enjoying this winter. With todays clothing that’s out, there really is no excuse for being cold and when one is active, you keep warm anyway. But like anything else you have to watch those temps and Wind chills same as with hot temps and heat index. I have done my share of Winter sports over the years, but now am content to watch others having fun. Sometimes I miss snowmobiling though. Miss ice skating too, but other than our sports plex in town with it’s ice rink, no place to skate with all the snow on the ice.

But today or at least part of it, I’m going to go and rake some of the snow off my garage roof. That will keep me busy for awhile as can only pull down so much, then have to blow it out of tbe wsy so it doesn’t pile up. Need to be able to get my truck out. If I do any on the back that won’t matter as far as piles are concerned. But won’t be going that far today as fish fries starting up on Friday’s at church for Lent and today is first one. So will be heading up for that.

Hi Sue and everyone!

Sue, I admire everything you do around the house. I wish I had your stamina but will admit I don't. One of the things I have noticed getting older is that I can't lift or move some of the things I used to be able to do.

We arrived in GA midday Wednesday, as our friend, Bill, was packing up to head to DE to live closer to his step son and daughter. He's having some health issues, about a month ago his house burned to the ground and two weeks ago, he totalled his truck. After the third episode of passing out (that's why he wrecked his truck), he decided it was best to make some changes in his life. So today, Steve and I took Bill to the train station in Savannah GA which will take him to Wilmington DE. He said he would call us tomorrow after he got himself settled in.

We're having another cold snap but it's almost 10 degrees warmer at our home in FL, so I'm looking forward to getting home tomorrow where it will be about 70.

Yesterday, the room two doors down from us had a suicide. Steve was outside getting something out of our car when one of the guys from that room ran outside the room screaming to call for help. It didn't take long and the parking lot was full of police vehicles and an ambulance. They were there the majority of the afternoon and after the coroner arrived and the body was put in his van, everyone left. Our friend, Bill, couldn't go to his room because it was beside the room where all this occurred and was in the area taped off as part of the crime scene, so he spent the majority of the afternoon with us. The whole thing was sad and left me feeling sort of spooked hearing the screaming and crying. I'm glad that's behind us now but sad for those involved.

Irmi, the two of you are such good friends. But that suicide situation would have been very hard. Hope you're home safely and a bit warmer.

I'm still being a recluse except for walking Ty so not much to say. I'm either reading or watching TV mainly these yucky days.

Sue, I miss snowmobiling a little. We had some fun times but there was sometimes just too much traffic in the trails to be safe. Lots of people going way too fast, especially around corners or over hills and we always gad two kids with us. The oldest who was about 6 or so would ride behind his dad. My youngest who was three would ride in front of me. Kids were warmly dressed and wore face masks and helmets as we did also. Youngest would fall asleep with his helmet resting on handlebars so I had to steer one-handed so he would not slump off! Usually we would stop and spread him out on the seat for a nap. It was also funny to be on a trail miles from anywhere and see a sign directing you to a bar or restaurant. Parking lot would be full of snowmobiles. When there was good snow, local businesses would be happy.

Sheila, why not just stuff a box in the back of that drawer to take up space? Or even better, get one of your grown kids or grandkids to fix the drawer so it will open??

Heading out tomorrow to visit an open pit mining museum and maybe wash my truck at quarter car wash.

Judy, you reminded me of when I use to ride my son in front of me on a horse when he was little. He would usually fall asleep. He now says that when he was older and his dad wanted him to ride a horse it made him sleepy.

Didn't do much today. It's still too cold for me. Hopefully it will be a little warmer tomorrow and Luna can play ball.

I noticed today that the light on my rv surge protector was off. It has been humming for a while so guess it's time for a new one.

I don't know what I'll do tomorrow. Sunday it's time for the monthly hospice dinner. Seems like we just had one.

Martha

I probably didn't explain the drawer well... it comes to a natural stop if you want to pull it out the whole way you can by tipping it up then you have to maneuver back in that would be a big hassle so I just want to put something to stop the spices from that part of the drawer and I did try some items couldn't find the right size so will go with this made up thing and then whoever buys the house they can easily deal with it... my sister in law did weed out the old spices awhile back so most of them are ones that I've added to it...
I did go through the hutch and wrote down stuff some I ignored some I tossed some I was surprised about after mom died we were looking for her safety deposit key and found my dad's old wallet he died in 73 I forgot that we had found the wallet and so I was temporarily surprised to find his wallet... box cutter's a whole bunch she worked at grocery stores for all her working life so understand having them but .... she had two junk drawers I'm sure she wouldn't call them that but I do so I know of 5 in this house :o I can see one and perhaps two but 5???
had popcorn for supper decided that wasn't enough so just had a piece of toast with peanut butter and honey and hot chocolate hopefully that will keep me satisfied
dd was going to come back after work and push the table back in place so when I got finished I texted her to see when she was getting off work opps she forgot which is ok I want to vacuum
the area first will one day get it done then see if some one can push it back in place
it's really no more in the way where it is than it normally is
and I still need to put stuff away here in the living room would be good to see about taking care of stuff that is in and on the side table some will inventoried and figured out where to put it but some I am sure is in the throw away category it will be interesting
that must have been upsetting Irmi so sorry for the family of the deceased... it's so hard that some feel that is the only way to fix what ever is wrong in their lives
Beth your days sound like mine in a lot of ways ... I don't have a dog to walk part of me wishes I did have other I wonder ... and although the tv is on during the evening hours I usually lounge on the bed reading scriptures or listening to a pod cast pertaining to it... crocheting or knitting on something... I may even pick up a book and read on it... had to really talk myself out of it... even used the phrase what would it matter if you just lay here and read no one is going to know" oh well I didn't vegged out on the CBS line then over to Murder She Wrote...
you all have a great day

Just after 1am so I need to get to sleep soon!

Went to WM for my meds and pick up a couple other things. I got several things done today from my To Do list. Then went to the Potato Bar Happy Hour. Turns out they were charging $11 for that. I didn't have any money on me so I told them I would pay them tomorrow. The potatoes were huge! Lots of stuff to put on them too. They had it all outside which I also didn't know so I wasn't dressed for it, being it started at 5pm and the sun sets an hour later and the temps drop fast! They also had a small band playing outside which was pretty good. I chatted with a couple who are staying a month and then heading to Palm Springs. Once I started getting cold, I headed home. I drive to the clubhouse because it is at the opposite end of the park from my space and is a long walk.

I put some of the new bulbs in today and they a fairly bright but not stark white like the ones already in here. I got "natural white" which is a little bit amber, and "warm white" which is a little more amber, so not so harsh. In the bathroom, I have a light over the sink, and one over the toilet that is controlled by the wall switch. I want to keep the one over the sink bright, but the one over the toilet can be the amber one since I will use that when I go in there at night and don't want my eyes blasted by bright lights. Same for the light under the cabinet over my bed. Don't need super bright lights in my eyes there either.

Last week I bought a 6 ft power strip to reach the back of the dinette area in case I want to plug something in there. Today, I ordered a 10 ft power strip to go from my bedroom to run to the couch for that area. That one also has USB outlets for charging my phone. I have a light strip I want to put up under the cabinet over the couch and that can plug into the USB as well. Right now, I have an extension cord running from the kitchen, across the floor, to the couch, for my phone charging cord. Not the best solution.

I have been trying to get ahold of the maintenance guy here who said he would install the vent fans for me. I found out today that he doesn't work here anymore so I need to find someone else to install them. I talked to the guy who put in my TV at the party today, and he said he could do it for me. However, he asked if there is even any electrical wiring to either of the vents since neither one has a fan in it now. I have no idea. That might be an issue if there is no wiring there. I never even thought about that. :?

Irmi, that is sad and a bit unsettling about the suicide where you are staying. I hope your friend gets settled into his new home. I am sure those 2 close calls were a wake-up call for him to make some changes.

Both cats are asleep on the bed so I better get to sleep here too.
