Chilly Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Chilly Thursday

Martha, I'm glad to not have the cold you're getting but from 90's yesterday to low 50's for a high today is more of a drop than I wanted. I just got my little electric heater out and turned it on and am back in bed letting it take the chill off in here. It must be working because Ty has come out from under the covers lol. Plans for today are to do laundry and see about doing my taxes. I have a Walmart delivery coming. I need a few things from HEB but would have to pay for a delivery from them and don't see myself going out, so will wait a day or two for those.

I haven't been walking enough so was thrilled when I checked and saw I got over 11,000 steps yesterday. I need to get out more!

Good morning Beth. Our morning is not as chilly as it has been 17° did not excite me but today it is 33 totally doable. Was cold in my house when I got up but kicked the heat on to 61° I know that still isnt warm but I am in the recliner with dog warmer and my electric throw so I am just dandy. Just had breakfast and got dressed. I need to go to Costco today to get a rotisserie chicken. Will have that for dinner then pick the rest of the meat off and freeze it as I want to make a chicken pot pie with the pillsbury crescents on top. Looks super easy and tasty. Then will put the carcass in the Instant Pot for a couple of hours to make bone broth for soup and stuff. I have been needing to go to Costco for a few days but figured I should eat up what I have in the fridge.

I am not much of a collector of doo dads around my house. I had quite a few in my other house of things I collected in my travels. Disappointed somewhat that I lost them but hey, I pretty much dusted them and that was it. So here I only have a few "decorations" so not much dusting of them. I struggle to dust the furniture ha ha It isnt that I dont like to, it is I just forget with Henry doing most of the vacuuming. Will run Henry again this morning for the family room. I deep vacuumed the other day but with Emma being a shedder Henry gets the dog hair so that works for me.

Need to take an Amazon return back today before my window of returns runs out so will do that when it warms up to a whopping 46. Maybe the sun will come out again this afternoon.

Hope everyone is tolerating the weird weather

OK, so I have been AWOL for a week but found this unsent from last Friday  . I was trying to upload photos but was having issues and eventually forgot to just submit this. So here it is. Now I will write another post and update the week since then.

FRIDAY, FEB 7th:
Judy, I saved that cartoon from FB about 8 years ago and pulled it up again as it is once again relevant. :(

Spent the day working on projects. Got almost everything done on my list except for one. I can probably do that sometime tomorrow. I got the board for the back of the couch fastened down. The cats are still trying to get into the wider-open corners tho. I have a pillow stuffed into those spots but will have to come up with a better solution since they can eventually pull those out. I cleaned up a ton of cat hair from under the couch when I pulled it out into the bed. That bed is worthless! Besides being very uncomfortable, it extends right up to the kitchen counter, so if someone is sleeping there, I would have to crawl over the bed in order to get to the bathroom and then back again. :o (of course, the cats would be running back and forth over them too!). So my friend will be sleeping on the dinette bed instead. I would like to replace that couch with a different one eventually.

I am going hiking with Ray (David's friend) on Sunday morning at Sabino Canyon, close to where I lived before. I never did get over there to hike, just to the visitor center. Should be fun! And, yes, things went pretty smoothly with my other brother and his wife. Paul even said he was very impressed with my latest gourd project. Compliments are few and far between from him usually.

I have been texting with Linda (Bikerchic). She bought a van that she and a friend are fixing up to travel/camp in. They are going down to the Florida GTG next month. She thinks we should get another GTG organized in Q next January. I second that idea!

Off to bed!

I have been busy this past week and also not feeling great. Have a cold and, with the dry air, my nose is raw and scabbed inside. Blowing my nose dislodges that and then starts over with trying to heal again. I felt worse this morning so have stayed in bed all day reading and napping.

My friend from CA who was coming out here to visit, cancelled yesterday because she has a bad cold and cough now. I was kind of relieved, more than disappointed, since I have been really tired too with all the busyness of working on the trailer, day trips, and visiting with family lately.

Tomorrow, I am meeting a friend from camp who recently moved up to Phoenix but is down here for a couple days so we are going out for lunch tomorrow. Then on Saturday, Julie wants to take David, me, and Ray down to Tombstone for the day. So tomorrow I will lay low again other than the lunch meeting.

The hike I went on with Ray to Sabino Canyon was nice (altho we got lost twice). We ended up sitting in a shady spot and talking about everything under the sun (sounds like a contradiction! :lol). I did squash his hope of us getting "involved" tho. We do have a lot in common and enjoy spending time together but I just don't feel any chemistry, plus the distance factor, and some other issues.

I have things to do around here yet. I need to dump my tanks in the morning. I bought some flowers to plant the other day that still need to get planted in the pots. Also still need to staple the material to the boards that go on the top of the dinette bench backs. Always stuff to do...

Now I need to go back and read the posts from the last 6 days...

Las Vegas and area finally got some rain today. It varied from .3 to .5 inches, which at least got the ground wet down a couple of inches. It was cold today, and my rig is in a shop getting a lot of front end bushings and tie rod things replaced. Hate to spend the money, but i have 214,000 miles on this thing and it has been making noises there at low speeds, and it is about time I had it fixed.

So, I am in a hotel for the night--second time I have had to do that in 12 years, but vehicle is guaranteed to be ready tomorrow late afternoon. I mostly spent today doing some shopping, but buying only a couple of small things. Nice to have a rental car and some time to look around for things I need. I did get a new lightweight bedspread a couple of weeks ago and then ordered a down throw to go over it when it gets cold. I still have my larger and heavier down comforter, but it is not good for warmer weather.

I'm going to be in the Tucson area in a couple of weeks, so Barbie and I are figuring out how to get together for lunch or whatever. I'm hoping to see her new home!

I second that gtg in Q next January.... I will be there at least as of right now nothing to stop me but you know life happens and one never knows what it will do... I thought years ago that I would be in Q long ago!!
I really need to reset my clock and get to bed earlier... no one to blame but myself
anyone remember I think it was a song basically the devil made me do it??? in my case it's FB made me do it ... I can waste so much time getting on it especially if I do so early in the day  I just need to not do it early on... set a timer and turn it off in that time... but I would ignore that anyway .... word search also grabs me...
niece took me to the store today... got way too much stuff hopefully the right stuff so I can actually make a meal... she dropped me off said to call when I was through but that she had parent/teacher at 4 should just take 15 min. so text her told her that I had checked out shortly after 4 it was almost 5 when they got there ... while waiting I saw a teenager come in wearing pants and shirt no coat and snow in her hair... just shook my head... it wasn't warm in fact it's warmer now than it was then I think it was around 10 it's now 18 above still dang cold
we did have snow today not sure how much and it's suppose to continue till Sat I think more the off and on type...
I have a screen savor that changes sometimes faster than other times it has a place I can click on and find out what the picture is so I normally do that one day there was a beach with big rocks all over it looked at it and it was a beach in CA called Bowling Ball beach anyone ever been there? could see why it was called that it's been interesting see where the places were
I was trying to make room on the bookcase in my room I've done that shelf by shelf... :o they are mostly recipe books ... found a coloring book one of those thick ones... lots of pictures to color it was on nature with telling what the picture was about like what animal it was and more about it called granddaughter who does home schooling to see if she would want it thought it would be an addition to her school stuff oh the cost of the book just to show how old it was 1.00 and never was used... anyway I tossed recipe cards away you know those that come in the mail or used to but did find one that I wanted to try it was Cajin Catfish couldn't find catfish at the store I went too... so got some Salmon will enjoy it tomorrow night
sounds like it was a good place to go Beth...
I wish I had a "henry" almost did but it didn't happen...
Glad that they got rain in Vegas it will make my sister happy what will you do to kill time after you have to leave the motel???
you all have a great day
