MONDAY 12/16

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

MONDAY 12/16

Postby OregonLuvr » Mon Dec 16, 2024 11:27 am

Good morning. I was up pretty early this morning (4:30) as I just couldn't stay in bed any longer. Luckily Emma does what I do..........up early or later she doesn't care. Took the dog out then came in and fed her. When I bent to put her food down I tweaked something under my shoulder blade. Dang. So next course of action was to just sit and sip my coffee and rest it. Well that didnt help after a while. So I resorted to Motrin/Tylenol and got my heating pad out. Then knew I had to eat something because of the chemical warfare LOL So had an early breakfast and now an hour later it is feeling so much better. I am still going to just sit for a while with the heating pad on then all will be good.
So I am sitting and my front deck camera goes off.......dang it is the mail lady bringing me my package. I NEVER get my mail before 5-7pm. Guess due to Christmas they are having a package run twice a day. I dont have anything else ordered and wont be doing anymore ordering for a while.

Anita sorry your brother is having problems and hope they can figure out something so he is more comfortable. I have only been to Leavenworth once several years ago and I loved that little town. It really wasn't too crowded the Christmas we went but of course more people now I guess. The California town I liked when I was working in Lompoc was Solvang. Little Dutch community with the absolute best pastries I have ever had. Also hope they figure out something for your daughter and the insurance covers it.

Not too much on my agenda today. I have my little Christmas tree winking it's colored lights at me and my lighted table decoration so it is a tad festive in here. I dont need to go anywhere today but tomorrow I have an 8am appt with my eye doc to get my injections and of course this is a dilation visit...yuck. So wont be able to do much tomorrow until late. Takes so dang long for the dilation to wear off so I will probably just watch some tv. Have a big pot of soup so can have that tomorrow. Have some leftovers for today then my fridge will be pretty much empty of leftovers. Might make those sausage rolls later today we shall see if I am motivated.

Good morning Karen,

Trying to get caught up on previous posts this morning. Need to leave soon for "camp".

I might get my trailer moved over to the "ranch" today or tomorrow! My space there is available right now so I figured I may as well move in early. I have been working in the trailer at the storage lot but I have no power there and with the slide in, it is hard to move around in there to do stuff. Will be much easier to get things done in there once it is moved over and have electricity. I probably won't move into it for a couple weeks until I get things done and organized inside.

Amazon loves me right now! I get packages from them every day! They must think I am doing a lot of Christmas shopping. :o  There is a large Amazon Warehouse out here so a lot of stuff I get the same day which is nice!

Martha, I don't understand why restaurants that have music have to play it so loud that no one can have a normal conversation! Drives me nuts!!

Carol, glad Bill is feeling better!

I better get moving here! Have a great day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I don’t know what I did but I lost my post a few minutes ago. Darn, hate when that happens. Not much news here. The big storm didn’t hit us as badly as was predicted. We had very little snow but had ice and freezing rain. Roads were bad enough for accidents though. Definitely was much worst in other nearby areas. The icy whatever it was covered the sidewalks and my driveway. Temps were up overnight and today so it’s melted the sidewalks and most of my driveway. So no shoveling required this time. Rain predicted for this evening. Sue, have you dug out from your latest snowfall? Karen, Solvang was always a fun village to visit and one of my favorite. But I thought it was a Danish village not Dutch. But correct me if I’m mistaken. Barbie, nice that you can move your trailer in sooner.
Buddy and I have a date with a trainer 6 January at a pet store to work on the lunging problem. And my timing. This is a new place so it’ll be a good testing area for us. Luckily the trainer hasn’t worked with worked with Buddy so he’s aware of his personality and quirks although I’ve never worked with him. But I’m sure Claire will fill him in. Tina, looking forward to hearing when the puppies come. Beth, it is surprising to hear about the humidity you’re experiencing. Sounds like a dehumidifier is probably the answer to make it more comfortable for you. Okay, time to get moving here again and get finished with a couple of chores I need to get to today. My mornings seem to go so quickly and before I know it here I am. I’ll be glad when the time changes back. I still seem to be on that schedule. Dark comes to soon now. Hope you all have a good day and stay warm. (Without high humidity!)

Sharon you are absolutely right it is a Danish community. I just remember the awesome pastries I was able to get there, and walk around the town poking my head into all the cute shops. Things were very expensive there so I rarely bought anything except pastries LOL
Hope the new trainer cant get you and Buddy on the same page.
Barbie so exciting to get working in your trailer making it your own. That is half the fun. You are talented with the decorating ideas too so I am sure it will be a wonderful cozy home for you and the cats.
Just started raining here off and on but not freezing we are 46 right now soaring to a high of 50

Still sitting with the heating pad on and babying my back/shoulder, geez, it needs to hurry up and get better. It isnt super painful more of a nagging muscle or nerve issue. Anyway will just baby it today. More drugs at 4pm so not sure if the drugs helped or the heating pad but is much better, only hurts when I move but now I can at least take a deep breath..

I have been to Solvang several times. Very cute town with lots of interesting shops. The bakeries all serve Aebleskivers, like large donut holes but are called pancake balls. Here is a better description:

Aebleskiver are light Danish pancake balls cooked in a cast-iron pan on the stovetop at Advent. They're served warm with syrup, jam, or powdered sugar

Sharon, it sounds like Trump is gonna get rid of the fall daylight savings time change for the whole country.

Didn't get the trailer moved today but got a few things done in there. The screen doors don't latch so I have to drill some new screw holes to move the plates that holds them shut because the plates are too far back on the door frame. I tried removing the ugly factory valances over the windows but it is a fight to the death I think! :o The material keeps getting wound around the screws when I turn them. I am gonna bring my box cutter tomorrow to cut the material off around the screws first.

I need to get rid of the 2 inch thick mattresses on all three beds, so will probably have to cut them up to get them in a dumpster. I got some light beige paint to paint the numerous areas on the cabinets, fridge, and slide-out frame that are all black. Will start on that tomorrow.

You can see the black area on the slide-out frame and the black squares below the TV on either side of the stereo. There are quite a few of the black "spaces" around the trailer that I want to brighten up.

I put some good stuff in the black tank to loosen up and clean out anything that is in there. Will dump once I get to the park, but the towing should slosh things around in there on the way and loosen anything else up (I hope!).

I am wondering, if I am plugged in to electric all the time, what does the battery do during that time? I have solar panels on the roof that are charging it now, even tho the battery is old and not holding a charge very long. I need to get a new one, but just wondering if I need to do that right away?

I got an exercise step platform to put at the bottom of the steps since the bottom step is 13 inches above the ground. :o I tried it out today and it will work perfect. It is wide and has good traction for the feet and looks nice. I got a grab bar for the inside of the screen door to make it easier to open and close it. I put one in my old trailer and that was so handy! I also got a metal screen cover for the screen door so the cats can't claw their way out.

So lots of little projects to keep me busy! And more on the way!

I have a cute snowman wreath I got to put in the front window where I am living now. I will move that over to the trailer and hang in on the door.

Have a good night!

Barbie, that's a cute wreath. Since I have been having refrigerator problems in my motorhome I have read up on the RV refrigerators some. I think that even thought you have the refrigerator on electric it also has to have battery power too. If you get a battery that you have to add water to be sure and check it. I didn't check the batteries in my motorhome often enough and one exploded. The maintenance free batteries are expensive but you don't have to add water to them. Since the lights in RV's are 12 volt you would probably want a battery to have lights in a power failure.

There is an Amazon warehouse in Abbeville now and sometimes I can get things in a couple of days. Yesterday when I was on the way to Lafayette I counted 36 Amazon vans headed South. They were probably headed to the warehouse because it was almost a caravan.

I went to Walmart to get the rest of what I need for the campout. When I got gas the service engine light went out when I started the truck. Guess I'll have to play that game for a while. I have one of the things that you can check vehicles with that my son bought. I looked at it one time and there weren't any instructions on how to use it. I need to find it again and see if here are any instructions online.

It was hotter today so even though I could have handled it without ac, I turned on the AC to being the humidity inside down. It helped. Tomorrow the dehumidifier arrives so I'll plan on using it overnight as necessary. On another front, I knew I needed to go to the dentist and was putting it off I until January. Last night the tooth I'm having trouble with broke. So I have a Thursday dental appt. I was afraid with how busy things are and coming up on Christmas I wouldn't get in this week, but I could even have gotten in Wednesday but she told me she was squeezing me in more than Thursday so I picked Thursday. Still might have a wait but I shouldn't have waited knowing this tooth was in trouble. TY and I had a very good walk this morning. And a shorter one when the sun came out this afternoon. One of the ladies convinced me to go in to crafts this afternoon but it wasn't anything I wanted to do so I just tried to be sociable for a little bit before bowing out.

Martha, if it went out when you got gas, there's a good chance it had to do with it thinking the gas cap isn't on completely. My last class c did that all the time and it wasn't a real problem. So find out what it's coding. If you can't find yours, Auto Zone will do it free.

we are so late getting anything Christmasy up... have a poinsettia and that is about it... mom always went out decorating all the decorations are downstairs the tree is hiding unless "the kid downstairs" found it not seen him today he has a new shift and I'd finished dishes when he got home... thought that he would spend some time upstairs but he didn't and he didn't answer my text... so don't know if he found it or not or if he even looked... my nephew and family usually come over and put up the tree not usually this late they also put up theirs and her mom's so it's a lot but would really like to have it put up
think part of the problem mom was having last week was due to getting too much morphine she started to being here yesterday so of course she had morphine today but not as much so hopefully it won't last as long... it's like she isn't understanding what we need to do like get up and go to the bathroom just looks at you and sits... or perhaps she just doesn't want to go to the bathroom... when they put the dressing on her legs today had them put something similar to saran wrap hopefully that will work better than the plastic bags.... it will be one less step in the process...
actually tried the crock pot might need to do it more often although I was really hoping the meat would have been more tender... but it's sometimes the meat itself... although it wasn't bad just not fork tender... need to figure out what else to make in it... it was nice having it cooked when I got around to doing supper... thinking of using what is left of the meat for soup but worried that the potatoes will just melt away as they are pretty done...
I don't know what happened but my happy color started working today I decided to try it as I was doing several times a day and it loaded took me by surprise...
was there a problem with the forum tonight? couldn't get on and when I finally did had to put in my log in
you all have a great day
