SUNDAY FUNDAY 11/17

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SUNDAY FUNDAY 11/17

Postby OregonLuvr » Sun Nov 17, 2024 10:55 am

Good morning. Rain, rain, rain. Atmospheric river coming our way. To me it is still a "storm". Yesterday was a decent day, just a couple light rain showers.....BUT dense fog. I was going to go to the coast but I wouldnt be able to leave until like noon when the fog gets lighter and by then would be way too late to go. Takes a couple hours to get where I wanted to go and I sure didnt want to be driving home in the dark. I dont drive at night anymore, altho since my cataract surgery I think I could....but why test that theory? So my new plan is to make a hotel reservation at the coast in December to go see the King tides. I need to see what time high tide will be at that time and how much the rooms are as that might be a popular weekend. Also the weather might factor in. If not I have another shot in January ha ha ha the last one so they say.

Judy you picked the perfect day to head south. No snow of course, because it has warmed way up, but is very rainy today. Lots of rain they say. Mountain driving is no fun in the heavy rains. Redding is flat land so you are good to go, or will be soon.

Anne I have steps also for Emma. YES she sleeps with me, actually tries to tell me when to go to bed. Sometimes it works and sometimes not so she goes to her own bed here in the family room until I move to the bedroom.
I had some steps for Blossom as she got older but she never really used them the way I intended. She would go up them but jump off the bed. Defeated the purpose. My bed is fairly high. So when I got Emma I brought them out to the living room so she could get used to them and get up on the couch. She used them up and down no problem. Then I moved them into the bedroom and that is what I use now. Jumping off of things is very hard on their joints, especially the smaller dogs I had some in my Motorhome too. Now those are in the guest bedroom as she thinks that is her room as it has the only window where she can lay in her bed, on the bed and see out the window. My steps are not as nice as yours but they work just fine for a small dog. I have a sheet on the bed to contain any dog hair between vacuumings. The things we do for our dogs ha ha

I was very motivated yesterday and got everything on my list done. Today I have a new list but it is much shorter ha ha I need to go to Safeway and pick up my order this morning. Just a few sales items before they change on Wednesday. Making BBQ chicken thighs for dinner. Going to do a pan of roasted veggies so will also put the chicken in the oven. I am doing 4 thighs so will have left over veggies and chicken for tomorrow. Such an easy meal. The prep isnt bad either. Just peel and cut the potatoes, sweet potato, carrots, cut the brussels sprouts and onions in half, clean the mushrooms. The mushrooms go in the last 15 minutes as they cook really fast. I use a sheet pan with parchment paper so no real clean up either. Sometimes I just put a few in the air fryer and that works good too except this time I want leftovers.

I had steps for Peaches a she got older. Luckily it was her back hips causing her trouble because she used the steps to go up but never would for going down. Anne, those are nice steps. Unfortunately I don't have space for them. I tried putting out my step stool but TY just laughs at it. If it becomes necessary I will help him every night. The problem is he likes to get up some nights and drink water. Some nights he jumps right up, other he doesn't. It's a weird opening and I hit my head on a cabinet getting in and out if I'm not paying attn. Usually that's because I'm worrying around where TY is sleeping. Yes, the things we willingly do for our babies. No regrets.

I wish I had more get up and go. Most of my projects right now are fairly easy and can been done pretty quickly but I'm procrastinating.

Karen, I'm glad you agree that yesterday was the perfect day, since you know that area so well!! I did NOT want to drive this thing on ice or in snow through those mountains, so I knew I had a narrow window to make the trip to at least Shasta. I had quite a few decades of driving in Michigan on ice and snow, but most of Michigan is flat instead of mountainous, and driving a 15,000 lb vehicle is another thing entirely! :o Whew!

Been lazy this morning, but I did change my bed and the bathroom towels, also ate lunch, so next is to sort laundry and walk to very close by laundromat here. Got two or three loads depending on how big machines are.

Funny thing is that both of my hands near my thumbs were itching all night. Looked this morning, and that area at the base of both thumbs is red, no doubt from holding onto steering wheel so tightly for 8 hours yesterday!

I got home about noon. The weather for our campout was so nice. Not too hot or cold. I think some would have stayed another night if we didn't have a lot of rain coming tomorrow. I decided I better mow. About the second round I managed to get the mower stuck in the mud. I had to get the truck and some big chains out of the barn. I was afraid I might get the truck stuck too so got all the chains I could find. Got the mower out and finished mowing. My motor home was so dirty I decided to wash it before I put it up.

I need to keep up with my phone in the morning in case the RV shop calls. My refrigerator is still switching from electric to battery on it' s own. I doubt I will be able to get it in and we have the big Christmas campout in two weeks.

had surprise visitors tonight.... my #2 dd and husband stopped by..when I talked to him yesterday about the heat mat he was going to order a cord for it made the comment when dd said that he was hooking up the mat I said but I thought that they needed to order the cord they brought over theirs and will order another one for them... works for me... that way the ice doesn't get a chance to build up
mom has been confused today and noticed it last night... she asked me last night who it was that was in the living room... well no one but didn't know if for some reason it was the week before and grandson and family were here later she mentioned that the kids didn't say good bye which they didn't why it would come up a week later who knows then today got home from church gave her her thyroid pill and was getting my oxygen stuff gathered up to move it from night time spot to daytime spot... when she came and asked if I would cook that pheasant neck I told her she couldn't have anything to eat for a half hour after having the pill. Last night she want some prune juice which I gave her and assumed that she was constipated ... I gave her her pills at lunch water pill the rx pain pill can't remember it's name and a laxative... was pouring my milk looked over and saw that she was chewing them that was a first so she drank some milk to get the remnants down... supper was more prune juice the mild stool softener/laxative that she gets daily and of course her pain pill those she swallowed.... finally while I was on chat she had success I'm hoping that this takes care of the confusion .... she asked if the books had come that she ordered pies and more pies it's hard dealing with it some times but it doesn't happen often
Shadow used to sleep on the bed with me and on the couch when I took a Sunday afternoon nap do miss it
you all have a great day
