Election Day 2024

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Election Day 2024

Postby Colliemom » Tue Nov 05, 2024 8:27 am

Morning all. Mild and damp here at the 45th on this Election Day. Not going anywhere today. Plan to run vac, do some dusting and back to sign project. Finished putting primer on the sections. That showed up a few spots where some wood filler would be helpful, so will do that, sand it a bit and prime them, touch up a few spots on the lettering, trees and deer and apply first coat of white paint.

Irmi, I plan to return to Diamond Painting after this. My fall picture I had custom made and have been working on is finished, but set aside to work in the sign. I need to go over it for any possible missing Diamond, make sure it looks good and then seal it. After that, it can be framed and hung. I have about 5 more waiting in the wings as well as sone coasters and a bookmark. But the sign project is a nice break.

Judy, after working at the State park doing building maintenance and also a few years in housekeeping, I’ve become sensitive to certain smells too. Some things I can tolerate more than others. So I avoid what I can’t.

So that’s basically what’s going on here today. Whether or not dogs want to go for a walk remains to be seen. No inclination yesterday other than a short one to potty up the road and back home. So have a nice day all.

Thank heavens it is Election Day. I am very hopeful all the ads of which I have been in dated with
Finally stop! Sometimes I feel like I just want to drop out of the whole process.
We had about five drops of rain Saturday night. We’re now having clear bright blue sky’s.
Heater on in the morning to take the chill off, then AC on in afternoon when sun gets around to my door!

Morning Sue. Getting my sleep pattern back to normal, at least normal for me ha ha Got up at 4:30 this morning. Just enjoying perusing the internet, checking my bank accounts, ya know for fraudulent activity..all is well. Had my second cup of coffee and some breakfast now ready to start my day. Cleaning my stove and oven. Self cleaning oven so not much to do in there except wipe it out, but the rest of it needs a good wipe down. Then going to wipe down my refrigerator and throw out anything I am not using or that is expired. If I still have it in me will go thru my spices. There are some I will never use again and also some that I know have been up there forever. Then we shall see if I have any more ideas of what to clean.

My Thanksgiving cacti are blooming (were supposed to be Christmas cactus but they have other ideas) and doing well. My Anthurium also has some new blooms coming. I only have 3 live plants as I really only have one window with decent light it is in my kitchen dining area. I need to refresh the soil but should wait until after they are all done blooming.

When my chores are done I will pop in the shower and get dressed properly. I dont have anywhere I need to go today. I have Bunco tomorrow afternoon, groomer on Thursday and labs drawn somewhere in between so not too bad.

We are supposed to have sunshine until Sat when the rain comes back. OK with me as long as we have a day or two of some sun.

Laundry day! Got three big bags to wash. Luckily, no rain today, but definitely damp and cold. Headed a bit south tomorrow and supposed to be sunny for next two days. Yea!! I have some outside things to do, but hate doing them in the rain.

Tractor Supply has some really bright rechargeable flashlights on sale for $5 each, so I bought three for myself and one for everyone in my family, since all but one are now driving and that one will be getting her license next spring. Come with a charging cord that will plug into most newer cars.

Not much else going on.

The excitement will come in the middle of the night or early tomorrow morning.

My son came and met me this morning and we went and voted. Then we went to eat at Shucks, our favorite restaurant. Went to Walmart without my list and forgot half of what I wanted. We had several big rains today and there were a couple of tornadoes Northwest of here. I forgot to check the rain gauge to see how much rain we got.

I'm watching the election projections and they are making me dizzy with all the numbers. I think I'm going to have to mute the TV.

I hate it when they start making projections. The polls in the western states are still voting.

I have been in a whirlwind it feels like all day! I took my van in for semi annual check up and then had to figure out how to get Toby to the groomer and DH to the dentist at the same time. A text and a phone call juggled things around, but needless to say tension was already at upper limits so the extra drama just about put me over the edge. Oh, it was also raining, after so little rain, two and a half months with only one rain, it picked today. I was soggy all morning. Thankfully we had already voted. But I also had a bit of luck, got a call around five saying my van wad ready! A miracle!! She is so busy it can be several days to a week. I was too tired to go pick it up plus she suggested I get a new battery as mine was over 4 years old and didn't have a full charge or something. I said yes as I really don't want to deal with a dead battery on a cold winters day. This woman has been working on my Toyota's since the late 90's so I trust what she suggests. I doubt she weighs a 100 pounds but she works over 8 hours a day, in fact it wouldn't surprise me if she didn't have a small apartment over the garage.
All is quiet tonight and since my body hasn't adjusted to the new time I'm probably not too far from heading to bed.

I noticed even more blossoms on one of our Rhododendron bushes today, roses and Hydrangea and Azaleas also have some blooms. Strange.

Martha I can't watch the election news it's more stress than I can handle.

It's 9:30 and I'm writing from bed. I'll find out the election results in the morning. Or maybe the middle of the night lol I agree, Sue, I'd rather not see any results until all the polls are closed.

My mix-matched rug floor is close to done. Should be finished tomorrow. I promise to post pictures of the final results. I gave my sofa to the guy helping and ordered a loveseat from Amazon. It came today, luckily not arriving until after our heavy rains. And I discovered a leak coming through a storage door during that heavy downpour with high winds, so that needs to be corrected because that's a weird storage door that isn't storage but simply a storage door into the main RV. Strange, but I'll fix it and the RV/carport will also help protect during storms. The loveseat is put together and in place. It was inexpensive and is the perfect size so should work out well. My original intentions were to get a recliner but the space isn't really good for that and two definitely wouldn't fit. I am considering getting a folding ottoman that I can put away when not using.

I have to quit reading when any of you talk about food. I get hungry and end up snacking.

it was an interrupted day got a call from the dr asking if he could stop by... perk of being on hospice dr visits first time since she has been on hospice care... I think it's part of the certificating again... she gets so bent out of shape when they want her to go take a shower... not sure why it is other than she might feel she isn't in control even when I was giving her her shower there were times when words were said attitude given... I wish I know what to do that would make her not so grouchy about the whole situation ... told her today that a shower was needed and they have to work on a schedule but we would listen to what she has to say to make it more enjoyable we still don't know what that would be... all said she saw the dr and got a shower.. she had gained so weight and I was really happy about it till the nurse said she thought it was water gain guess her legs are a bit swollen and she is back to not eating very well... I thought it was last nights soup but tonight's soup wasn't much better... I sat down to finish scriptures after the nurse left and fell asleep so I was later getting supper put what I thought would be faster than what I an intended... so tomorrow night will have what we would have had tonight... had to find my yarn and it was the right color... wondered for a bit ... label changed so was concerned
glad sun has returned Karen and haven't you needed rain Martha so if so that was good
that is too bad to find a leak hopefully it's easy to fix Beth... is your couch comfy?
it's feeling chilly tonight one day I am going to put a thermometer in here and see what the temp is
you all have a great day
