Good Morning. Happy first day of November. Hope we hear from some of our Monthly posters. Alway good to hear from them. Wish they would chime in more often.

38° and cloudy skies to start November off here. 43° expected for high.. There was snow predicted for far western U.P, yesterday morning, don’t know if it materialized or not. But we are heading back into 50’s and 60’s in a few days. Election Day looking mild with chance of showers. Doesn’t matter to me as my ballot is already done and personally delivered to the township clerks office. Now I’m just waiting for the day to get here so the flood of political ads on TV will be over. They have been hot and heavy as the day gets closer. Nice thing is, all on the major networks which I can easily turn off and go to my other cable channels. I’m not much of a TV watcher anyway.

Bit of house cleaning today and will work in the sign project. About 3/4 done now. Brushed on the final coat of paint on one side of the framework yesterday and will do the other side when temps warm up in the 60 degree range. It’s in my garage, so doesn’t matter if there’s a shower around. Otherwise not much going on around here today. This is the time of year I have to adjust from the busyness of outdoor stuff to doing inside things, so takes awhile to get into that groove.

Wow Beth, an early delivery of your carport hopefully. That’s great. Can’t wait to see final result. No Trick or Treating around here either. Only two kids in the sub and they probably go up town. Around up here, it’s too dark in the country and areas around the lakes are a mix of permanent and second homes, so people head to the towns pretty much. Gaylord gets a lot and has a big party at one of the Churches, plus businesses are passing out candy at the Pavilion on Main Street.

So, guess I should get busy and get the house work done. Have a nice day everyone.

Good morning Sue, no Rabbits from me. I think if I changed Emma's name to Rabbits I would be golden. Guess I have to live on the edge this month hah She is always just so cute when we wake up as she wants her kisses and loving before we get up.

Raining big time here right now. Good thing Emma doesn't really mind the rain. It is warm outside 50° so that is a plus. I have to take my garbage can out to the curb but will wait for a break in the rain to do that. We have high pressure coming in later next week so anticipating some nice days ahead. I dont mind the rain as long as we get a break.

Paid my lot rent and property taxes. Taxes only went up $15 so not too bad. All other bills paid for now. My electric bill for last month was only $80 so that was good. Will start going up from here now tho. I do keep my house fairly cool, I just dress real warm and if I am sitting I use my electric throw. I refuse to be hot or cold tho so have no problem using the heat or AC.

Looking thru the recipes again this morning. I want to make something different but do not want to have to go to the store so we will see if I can find something. I saw a hashbrown casserole so might check that out. I have never made one of those before. I want to make some stir fry but that would involve going to the store so that will happen next week.

Time for another cup of coffee then will see what I can get into

Good morning Sue, Karen and all that check in!

Sue, when you're done with the work you're doing at the entrance, please post a picture. Karen, it sounds like you are getting your share of rain.

I remembered Rabbits. It was 66 degrees when I got up and we'll get into the mid to high 80's. Steve has been busy using the pressure washer to clean our pad, which needs to be done by the end of every November. It's unbelievable how much dirt settles on the concrete in a year. I'll be making cookies for tomorrow's Bible Study. Those will be Chocolate Chip Blondies. Then I'll make Saltine Cracker Toffee for a dessert for the potluck after church on Sunday. I better get myself in the kitchen and get cookies made.

Have a good day!

Irmi, I had to look up the recipe for Saltine Cracker Toffee. Amazing what you can find on the internet. I can't eat that much chocolate but I could try making it with the Heathe English Toffee Bits. I use them when a recipe calls for chocolate chips. My dad ate a lot of Saltine Crackers and he could tell you how much crackers cost at every store in town.

We got 3 1/2 inches of rain. The weather channel says we have a 70% chance of rain but the radar shows all the rain to the East of me. It's already 81 and very humid. The fish are probably glad to have fresh water in the pond. I can see where all the ant nests are in the yard after the rain. I need to find the ant bait and go poison them before some decide to move in the house. I haven't had any ants in the house lately because it was so dry. The rain makes them look for higher ground.

Good morning to all - only 9:30 here in Vegas. And it is only 50 degrees out! HOORAY I love it. Bill on the other hand is cold. We went out to breakfast this morning and then to the pharmacy to pick up three new prescriptions for him. He wads in the hospital for three days. I called ambulance on Tuesday and off we went much to his annoyance. He was short of breath and very dizzy, also they didn't like his ekg. Turns out his body was FULL of fluids. Causing both the dizziness and shortness of breath. So he is now on water pills and a blood thinner. Am trying to get a hold of his cardiologist because he took him off of the blood thinner because of the macular degeneration. Also they say his heart is pumping slowly. But wouldn't give us a diagnosis. We saw the cardiologist in July and every thing was fine. So I want to talk to him soon. Also a week ago his one eye lid on his good eye started to droop. So need to see a specialist for that, luckily we see one next week. He turned 88 last week. I think the retention thing is because he has practically become immobile. He sits in front of computer then goes to bed. Says he can't see and is bored and feels like he is in jail. Probably some depression in there too. I am still, except for this week, getting out and walking 3 miles every other day. Keeps me sane. Our son asked me how I'm putting up with Bill, I told him I go out in the back yard, which is rocks, and throw them around to work off the tension.
We also have a huge tall dead pine tree out back that needs to be cut down, luckily it is the parks tree and their problem.
I remembered Rabbits this morning. I finally got smart and stick a post it on my bathroom mirror the day before. I don't have any pets to talk to first so it works pretty good.
I read every day. That is it for now.

Just sitting here in SW Ohio, still enjoying some beautiful fall weather. I will be going to the Y to keep mobile and as healthy as a body my age can expect. Motivation helps when I realize that I can now accomplish some yoga positions that was not able to a year ago, my balance hasn't gotten any worse and I have manage to maintain the weight loss that I worked hard for in the spring. Best part is that I seem to have mostly quieted the "must have pastries and sweets" addiction. It sure doesn't take many calories for this GHL to maintain weight...sigh. I choose them carefully.

Jane is in the wait and see portion of the her possible pregnancy. The exciting news is, if we have puppies, they will come at Christmas. The disappointing news is, if we have puppies, I will again spend winter here in Ohio and miss visiting Liz and Nan and all down in Florida.

This past week I got an unexpected phone call from one of the Roadtrekers I met earlier in October down in NC. Her friend from Charlotte had driving up to visit her in the Cincinnati area. (They purchased the RV together) I drove over to meet them for dinner. They had made an appointment with a mobile mechanic to attempt to answer a few questions they still have of their new to them (vintage) rig and get a few things fixed. Just to keep you guys looking forward. Both these ladies are 78. One had traveled in a class A years ago with her husband and now she and a good friend are heading out for a few adventures. Peggy (from Connecticut) was right when she said the world of Roadtrek owners are a niche of their own....

By the time we check in for December, Jane will know how she is spending Christmas.

Hello Everybody. I’m checking in from a beautiful fall day here in CT; sunny and perfect 77* weather.
My sister is coming this afternoon for a short visit and tomorrow we are attending a high tea put on by the good ladies of the Chester Garden Club. It will be ever so nice…..
On Thursday, Nov 7th I fly to Guadalajara, Mexico for five days of touring on my own. A little anxious, but I’m doing it. On the 12th I meet up with the Vagabundos for a trip to Copper Canyon. After that I go to beautiful Kino Bay for the winter.

Tina, I’m so glad that you are enjoying your Roadtrek and the special community of Trekkers. I just couldn’t sell mine this year. I have rejoined my local chapter of LoWs and now have people to camp with next summer. Enjoy your day. Peggy

Good Afternoon, I almost forgot that today is the first, I have to keep checking the date because I can’t remember!
Although I should o$begin to get better because the neurologist on my games keeps telling me I will! I surely will not get Alzheimer’s because of the amount of games I play!
That’s why I am reading less books this year. To whoever recommended One Trail Diary, it sounds like something I would like, however I cannot find a copy. Any suggestions?
I have become quite unsteady so use a cane most of the time.
Hazazel is quite content laying on the couch with me.
Hope all have a good November!h
Lyn

Happy 1st everyone. My keyboard just changed, I'm not sure how or why, but I now have to go to another screen to put my period at the end of a sentence. Strange and not convenient. I'm going to have to figure out what happened.

Peggy, every year when you are heading back to Mexico I want to come along. I'm glad you're still going and also that you've kept your RT for future trips.

I got a call a bit ago and my RV carport will be installed a week from Sunday. So I arranged to work with my neighbor on my floor this Monday. It should go fast. Tuesday I'm getting a new lovesest delivered (hope I like it lol) so my current couch becomes his when we take it out Monday to do the floor. My original intentions were to do it myself, but I'm happy to have someone to cut the pieces to fit. Time to figure out dinner.

I’m checking in. I never remember Rabbits. Not much going on here in my area. My dog Abby (my angel) is doing better after having been diagnosed with kidney disease. Thank you Beth for all your help and suggestions. It’s not curable, but compared to a month ago when she was diagnosed, you wouldn’t know she’s supposed to be sick. I’m very grateful for that, but unfortunately understand things will probably change going forward. The plan here is to make every attempt to push any change for the worse off to well in the future. We’re busy trying to get her to like some of the special food that’s been prescribed. Living alone, I don’t know what I’d do without Abby and little Bindi.

Beth, can’t wait to see pics of your carport. I hope everyone is well.

Happy November and here come the holidays!

We finally have some rain and temperatures are dropping. Fall colors were beautiful. BFF and I had a long weekend in Port Angeles to friends and family. Brother and sister-in-law both still on chemo although he had a couple months off and worked.

Not RV trips, but I do have a couple of cruises booked.

Hi ladies! Happy 1st!
Carol, sorry to hear about Bill. That long Covid is just beating him up.

Not alot new here since I posted recently. I'm officially back at the house. It's been a week of going back and forth from the KOA to the house, but the trailer is fully empty to go for service mid-month. Plan on doing some serious purging, fingers crossed, i know i can leave some clothes items in the house since cool weather travel in the future will be minimal. Sweatshirts take up alot of room.

That's it from here. Have a good month everyone!

Cold and rainy here in the Willamette Valley, and expected to be this way for the next several months, especially as I remember the November through March when i was getting treatment her way back in 2018-2019. I remember only three non-rainy days from Oct 31 through late February, at which point I was done with the time I had to spend here, so I took off and drove to Napa, and then to the Las Vegas area where it was warm, and I could dry out everything. I had to be back here for a monthly blood test and new supply of pills, so I got a cheap flight from LV and flew back here. Never thought i would get warm, which is what I felt like today. Oregon is lovely in the spring, summer, and early fall, but too rainy in the winter!!!

Plus I was almost out of propane today, and Camping World's propane equipment was broken, the nearby Shell station no longer provided it, and the third place I used to go to had its parking lot torn up! So, I ended up driving 15 miles to find a Tractor Supply and now have plenty to keep my furnace going for a few weeks. Whew, and I had to get the propane and re-hook up in the rain. Yuck. Not going anywhere tomorrow. Headed down to southern Oregon on Wednesday for a few days, then back here for pulmonary tests, and then finally to hopefully warmer Napa.

Watching on TV one of my favorite movies, "Miss Potter." It is a wonderful story about Beatrice Potter and her life as a young woman author and as a farm owners in the Lake District. It stars Renee Zelwegger, so that makes it even better. Did you know Beatrice Potter bought several farms in that area, saved a breed of sheep, hired local people to run her many farms, continued writing her books, and upon her death willed all her land to the National Trust and it became a national park. Incredibly beautiful places that she saved from development, and if you can find the movie, watch it. Also, worth while to read one of her biographies about the other things she did in her life.
