Pleasant Tuesday

Finally got some of my energy back today, so am working to schedule appointments for engine check and repair, COVID 19 shot, and getting a few things in my RV fixed. Might stay a week here since their weekly rate is good and i need to get things fixed, plus it is a nice RV park, clean and quiet and almost empty!! Figured I'd get today opened since no one else has done it yet.

One question before anyone posts: The northwest is pretty cool and comfortable, but according to the weather maps, the whole middle and eastern part of the country looks orange, which means hot! Cannot believe this is the middle of September with such hot weather.

I'm glad you've found a place you like, Judy. Now I hope you can get everything fixed that needs fixing.

I ran errands this morning. First I got my driver's license renewed. Then I went to the county office to see about voting. What was showing Friday online was wrong (as I figured) because the county offices are closed on Fridays. So the young lady and I decided I'd go with having it mailed. I felt better after she said she expected it would mail out Friday or Monday (go figure how someone can be there sorting and mailing on the day they are closed lol) and I have it being mailed to my casita. As long as it makes it by the second week of October I'll be good. Then to the bank. My back doesn't have a branch near me in Arizona or Texas. It's never been a problem. But I had checked my hidden cash reserve (in case of an emergency) and needed to replenish it so it was easy to stop and get cash. Laundry was in my list but I'm taking Ty to the vet tomorrow afternoon so I checked and all three friends are working at the store so I'll stop and visit and do a load in that Laundromat before heading through Custer State Park to get to the vet. They are calling for storms here tonight so I'm already back and relaxing. I'll organize some, have things spread all over in here lol, so that I should be able to get going fairly early. I change to a motel room in Rapid City tomorrow. Is almost cxl since I can't vote Friday but I'll be busy all day tomorrow and I love this area so much that I'll find somewhere to go Thursday. Maybe Spearfish Canyon. Another favorite place.

I'm sure I've bored everyone so I'll quit now.

Good evening!

Sheila, I have put your expected travel dates on my calendar! Beth, that cabin looks so cute! Lyn, I keep meaning to comment on your trailer and how happy I am that you are enjoying it!

I got my flu shot yesterday along with the Covid that came out 2 1/2 weeks ago - was a very slow start to my day today and a long nap! I've never done the 2 at once.

Went to the 8th grade girls' soccer game yesterday and they are so much better than last year's team. Really enjoyed it and the parents weren't yelling at them trying to coach them. They are obviously not newbies to the game and my daughter has been so excited.

I woke up really early when I heard the lawn mowers starting in and remembered that they are scalping the lawns this week (when they mow right down to the ground and then reseed for new grass next week.) That makes a huge dusty, dirty mess all over. So I quick closed all the windows in the house and porch and then moved my car across the street so when they come by with their blowers afterward, they can blow out my carport without my car in the way. Well, it turned out they only did the other side of the street today. So I guess it will be tomorrow on my side... I never did get back to sleep after that.

Brought my car in to get the window fixed this morning and my friend Dave picked me up and took me home. A few hours later the guy called to say it was done. I didn't have anyone to drive me back there so the guy who fixed the window drove over to pick me up and take me back to the shop to get my car. Now I need to find someone help me with my car when I take it to get checked over. I will be taking the RV to the dealer on Friday and have a friend who can pick me up from there. I feel bad I am asking my friends to drive me all over lately! But this stuff needs to get done ASAP!

I need to get my flu shot and Covid shot but will wait until I get to Tucson since the Covid shot makes me feel sick for a day or so and I can't afford a sick day right now.

Beth, you should find a place to park your RV up in SD for the summers since you love it up there so much. Probably a lot more expensive tho, than down south. I would love to be a "sunbird" and be able to spend a few months in MN each summer. There are no campgrounds anywhere in the Twin Cities metro area at all. You have to go way west or north to find any.

Didn't get to anything in the house today, just phone calls and messing with the car. I am very tired after not getting a lot of sleep last night. I need to get something to eat here and get to bed early. Tomorrow will be strictly inside working! I need to find time to get a haircut too, before I leave. It is getting long and shaggy, beyond what I can do myself.

Have a good night.

I sure hope that this time it works out Anita... I plan on it but when driving with someone else one never knows... my hopes is to drive at least through was it Levenworth? that town you used to live in the Christmas town??
Beth you never bore us in fact I rarely if ever get bored with any of the postings...
Ended up we didn't need to take anything today... so cake is still on counter needing to be frosted and find people willing to help eat it... shouldn't be too hard... I have a recipe for frosting that I really like called easy fudge frosting if I recall correctly heat sugar butter corn syrup and cocoa think salt let boil for a few cool beat in powder sugar and vanilla. don't make it for all chocolate cakes but sounds good for this one...
Barbie it sounds like you have things all under control...
Judy sounds like a good area... glad that you have been able to rest up now to take care of the have to's hopefully it can all be done in a timely manner... when I could I like to get the weekly rate... usually was cheaper even if you have to bail out earlier...
was a rather cool day today went to the meeting came home read scriptures then opted for a nap so woke up and it was really cool in the other room... so cleaned off the pellet stove and turned it on will need to have the "kid downstairs" fill it happily there was pellets in the container that we keep inside for pellets for when the hopper is empty... I like to use that as an emergency it was today... and it actually started... that is always a good day...
it rained today a lot so needed just wish it had been warmer while doing so ...
you all have a great day

We had a few 80 degree days but we're back in the 90's. I didn't do much today. I needed to go to town but was going to wait until the mail passed. She didn't pass until 2:00 and by then I was out of the mood. I need to get my flu shot too. Just doesn't feel like fall.

Anita, soccer wasn't around when I was young so don't understand it at all. I don't remember what grade but we had 6 weeks of football sometime in high school so I kind of know what they are doing. About the only games I might watch are LSU. The college I went to never has games on TV.

I have some cans of pumpkin that my sister gave me. I don't care for pumpkin pie so I looked up a recipe for pumpkin bread. I haven't made it yet.

Beth, I like to hear about your travels since I'm not doing much. This week some of my friends are at a state park in North Louisiana. I don't feel like driving to North Louisiana.

Judy, hope you can get your motorhome fixed.

Martha
