Good morning gals.

I will keep this very long story brief...

In spite of all your good advice, I bought that RV and it turned into a huge fiasco! I can't go into details right now but the whole situation caused me to have a severe anxiety attack last Saturday that turned into a full-blown panic attack by evening. I ended up calling 911 and getting taken by ambulance to the hospital that night. Unfortunately, I had an even more traumatic experience there with the horrible way I was treated while trying to get some help, as I began to hyperventilating. While in the waiting room, I got up and told someone I was feeling like I was going to pass out. The lady told me to go sit back down. I asked if I could get someone to assist me. She ordered me loudly to go sit down NOW!! I turned around and passed out hitting my head on the floor (which made me come to). I was given a Valium and put in a wheel chair and moved to a hallway. Once I calmed down, they just sent home before I even got to see a doctor. That experience didn't help my anxiety any, for sure!

I have since been having frequent anxiety attacks about this whole situation, especially first thing when I wake up in the morning. I did get some meds to help calm me down but they also make me sleepy. After a lot of frustration, lies, deceit, and money, I finally got the RV towed out here and is safely in a space down the street from my park model.

For now, I am getting ready to go to Tucson to be with my brother and SIL for his surgery on Wednesday. I will deal with the RV when I get back home next weekend. I am hoping this trip will help distract me and calm me down some. I lost 5 pounds in the last week from not eating due to the stress. I am now forcing myself to eat 3 times per day to build up my strength and energy.

I am not ready to talk more about this situation on here, but maybe will later on. I learned a big, hard lesson and take full responsibility for what happened.

For today, I need to do some laundry and pack.

I am sure that I speak for all of us on here that we are truly devastated by your story, and sorry for your experience with the hospital, the rv, and. . . just all of it.

If I had the words to change even the smallest part of what has happened to you, or to even just make you feel better, please know that I would most certainly say them.

Truly, my heart goes out to you.

I am sending prayers, hope, love and my very best wishes to you.

Yes, it is really me, just quick check in. Barbie - glad you posted, but so sorry to read about the bad time you have been having. Hospitals aren't like they used to be with taking care of people. Try to relax while with your family. Keep us posted, just to vent even. Know we are all thinking about you.
So any way I'm just letting every one know we are still around. The weather has finally decided to cool down a little. Only 100 to 105 this coming week, and cooling down some at night. Thank heavens. Even got to take a walk in the Wetlands yesterday EARLY in the morning. Hopefully will be able to go again tomorrow morning, After that for the rest of the week it will not be cool enough even early.
The air conditioning in the Jeep quit working again last week. Was going to take it back to the mechanic this coming week, but when we went to market on Friday it worked fine...So guess we'll wait and see if it keeps working. Seems like every week something breaks or quits working or falls down or leaks. Enough already.
We are having a 4-sided inspection in a week and I forgot to ask the gardeners to cut back the oleanders. They have grown to just about roof level so might squeak through. Also have to remember to bring all my artificial flowers off the patio to inside. But I'm sure they will find something to write us up about.
Bill was doing really good, no long covid episodes for a long time. But last week he got a bad one. Had to make sure he was hanging on to something to make it from bedroom to bathroom. Hard to watch. He also mumbles and sometimes doesn't make sense wen it is real bad. Lasted a couple of days. I almost called 911, but doubt there is anything they could do for him. As no doctor seems to know what to do or suggest. Took him a few more days to really recover and be his normal feisty self. He gets so upset - so that makes him really angry - at every thing and every body. He'll yell at me for no real reason, then next time he gets up he apologizes.
I see it snowed last night in the northern Sierras. Already? Weird.

Good Sunday afternoon ladies!

Barbie, I am so sorry for everything you've been trough. I hope the visit with sil and brother goes well and gives you a chance to relax. Carol, it is good seeing you ere as I've been thinking about you.

Our weather is very chilly in the low 60s in the mornings but well get into the mid 80s this afternoon. I am losing track of my days. We bought a half bushel of steamed crabs Friday morning and ad a wonderful crab feast on our patio. Seila, there aren't that many crabs in a half bushel, maybe 6 or 7 dozen. After a couple crab feasts, we pick the rest for crab cakes. We had another crab feast yesterday. After we picked the rest of the crabs, I made crab cakes for dinner. This morning was church. We were back 10:30. At our FL church, on a good day, we might get back 12:30 or 1:00. There have been times it was 2:30. We had some crab claws and a few crabs left, so we ate them. Tomorrow we are going to order another half bushel for Tues. morning. Tomorrow we will go to Easton to get an oil change for the car. We have so much we want to do before we leave here Friday but running out of time. We found a thrift store that sells only ig end clothes but sell for $ 8.00 a piece! I got a pair of white slacks and white capris. Steve got a nice golf shirt. We also got books for a dollar or so each. We will be going back there. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Barbie, so sorry to hear the latest. You just take care of yourself, the rest will fall in place. When you are ready, we are all here for you.
Remember, although it may not feel like it at the moment, this too shall pass.

Having a Hot spell here for a few days with increasing humidity. So are it’s been okay. We had cloud cover past two days, so we didn’t even hit 80. Has been very pleasant actually. It’s 85°.but humidity is only 43%, don’t know about dewpoints. A nice breeze coming in the house. Tomorrow and Tuesday supposed to be more humid. We shall see. I’m sure this feels like a big cool down to those of you in the 100° temps.

Needless to say, I’m not doing anything outside till it cools down. Just watered the flowers here and the sub entrance, so that’s done. Now I’m going to work in my DP. My neighbors just got home from an Alaskan cruise this morning and now he’s mowing the grass. Raising a dust storm. Our yards are not the picture perfect lawns you see in ads. There’s spots of thin grass, weeds and dirt, especially when it’s been dry of late. So we eat dirt while we mow.

Have to get my act together in the morning. Dogs have a 9 a.m. grooming appt., plus it’s trash day. Want to pay my property taxes while I’m out and run up to the credit union as well. Otherwise not much doing this week. Did go up to Mackinac on Thursday. Was nice. Ventured over the bridge for lunch and then spent some time by the water. Molly was the wader this time. Perfect weather too.

So sorry about all the problems, Barbie. Just remember all things eventually get ironed out - it's just getting to that point which can be stressful. Try to relax a bit when you're at your brother's place. And then tackle one thing at a time.

I just got back from visiting my 2 brothers - in Port Townsend & Samish Island, WA. The weather was beautiful so we took frequent walks & had lots of outdoor time with my 6 year-old twin nieces. It did my heart so good to be with them. Siblings are the greatest gift Mom & Daddy gave us.
My ex had stayed at my place taking care of Sadie, so when I got home he helped me divide my bamboo into 2 pots. I just read that you're not supposed to do this during the summer so we'll see if they survive.

Well, I've got my 2 grandsons here so I'd better go.

I’m so sorry Barbie for what has happened. I’m glad you’ll be able to be at your brother and sister-in-law’s home while he’s having surgery. Please be extra careful getting to Arizona. Do your best to take it easy and recuperate from what has happened. You’ve always been resourceful and when things calm down you’ll get it all straightened out. You’ll be in my prayers.

Barbie, just know that you aren't the first person to get swindled in buying their first RV. I was at a parking lot recently, getting ready to leave, and a young man came over and asked me about motorhomes. He was bidding on one online, sight unseen. Plus he was located in Saskatchewan, Canada, and the motorhome was in Indiana! If his bid won, he was going to fly to Indiana to pick it up!

So don't feel bad about making a mistake. We all make them, and I still am angry at myself for a few, especially getting married right after college to someone I could not see really did not want to get married. That was a really big one, but there have been lots we all have made, so you are not alone, that's for sure!!!

And Evie, I was looking at RV parks near my younger son's house in Ohio in case I ever needed one for a month or more if I had to have surgery, etc. The going rate for these older and very mediocre places was about $1,200 per month!! That is highway robbery and places can get it because people get desperate. If I get sick in Ohio, I'll store my RV and move into my son's basement. It is completely finished with a bedroom and full bathroom. He had it plumbed for a kitchen when they bought the house 11 years ago, and said he is considering finally getting the cabinets and appliances put in.

Now I am ready for a piece of the chocolate loaf cake I bought a couple of days ago. Chocolate cures a lot of things!! Then to shower and to bed early.

Long drive today made even longer by having to drive in lower 50 MPH because of wind. Luckily, after about 2/3 of the trip, it got easier, but it was still 253 miles, so I am exhausted. Hooked up electric and have enough water until tomorrow, so I am crashed in my chair. Am in Medicine Hat, Alberta, so I need to tear this place apart and find the stickers for the last three provinces for my outside map of places I have been. I saw them just a few weeks ago, but now cannot remember where I put them. Also tomorrow, I need to take the screen and the trim off around my inside AC unit. It is really dirty, and one screw is falling out, so trim piece is loose.

Barbie, so sorry you have had so much trouble. My first RV was a lemon and it was brand new. I had nothing but trouble with it. Hope your brother's surgery goes well. Hang in there and take care of yourself.

Catherine, I didn't know you could kill bamboo. One of the houses I had was next to a school yard that had bamboo all along the fence. The bamboo would send shoots into my yard and ever so often I would have some growing in the middle of my yard.

I went to the dinner in Lafayette. I'm glad we had reservations because there was a line of people waiting to get in at 11:00. I had a cup of crab and brie soup, a salad and seafood pasta. The soup was so rich that I brought most of the pasta home. They give you so much food and the price isn't that bad compared to most of the restaurants I have been to lately.

I gave Luna one of the toys I got at TJ Maxx. It's a ball that is light so we can play ball in the house and not break things. Oh joy, more ball playing. The ball that I ordered from Chewy that makes noise when it rolls drives her crazy. I end up having to distract her with a treat and hiding the ball.

It only got up to about 95 today and it rained a little bit this afternoon. The weather says we have more rain coming this week. It's nice that it's almost the end of August and there are no hurricanes in sight. Don't want to say that too loud.

Wow Barbie so sorry that you had so much going on... don't get the hospital sending you home without seeing a dr.. have a safe trip to your brother and sister in laws hopefully all will go well with him and you can get some tlc...
my sister in law mentioned on our chat tonight that there was a wind that went through and blew down some power poles... causing a lot of power outage... guess the winds were about 65 mph so my sister said that is almost a hurricane I always thought that hurricanes were much faster like closer too 100 mph... it seems like to me that when we were in a wind situation and wondered it it was close to being a tornado it wasn't considered a tornado because the winds were only 90 needed to higher for tornado but that was a lot of years ago...
we had a bit of rain today heard thunder a bit ago...
rv parks have gone up so high I'm hoping that I can afford Q when I am able to go back down ...
tried something different tonight a seasoned pork loin that was in a bag that you cook the loin in was really pretty good... read a recipe the other day where it used garlic confit have any of you ever done that???
mom does that Carol talks just loud enough that you can hear her but not really make out just exactly what she is saying... she will walk down to my room to see what I am doing usually either reading scriptures or listening to a pod caste talking about the weeks lessons and crocheting a lot while watching/listening she will even walk past the bathroom then after 'checking on me' she will wonder back down the hall saying she needs to go to the bathroom ... it's hard to know what to do to 'help' her
need to vacuum tomorrow mom mentioned that the floor needed vacuumed that I know it's just not something I enjoy doing between the hose I pull around and mom checking to see what I'm doing...

Barbie, I'm so sorry about all your bad experiences. I hope visiting your brother and wife allow you to have a bit of calm. Here's praying that the black cloud hanging over you will pass on quickly. Hang in there. And when you're ready, know that everyone here offers shoulders and ears.
