Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday August 12

Good Morning, I've already had visitors on this lovely cool morning and thought I would share. I saw them in the yard and they were very interested in me when I opened the door to take their picture. After they checked me out they continued their stroll down the street I hope everyone has a good day. I'm going out for lunch today at the Senior Citizens Center. One of my friends goes and she says the food is good and there were several people there that we know.

You beat me BJ. So I deleted my post so Beth doesnt have to merge them. I saved it so will just post on yours. Love your visitors.

Good morning. Not sure where yesterday went, thought I posted but...NO. But not many others posted either so dont feel too bad. Starting out lovely and cool 52. Will be 84 today, so they say, usually a few degrees warmer. End of week we will be down to the upper 70's for a few days.
Still on the "drops" regimen for my eyes but will be DONE next week. I have been very good with remembering and marking it on the chart they gave me but will be glad when it is done. I have a busy week. Going to the coast for the day to meet Laura tomorrow, she is camping over there. So we will have some good seafood hopefully. Thursday is haircut day and Friday is my eye exam to order my glasses. Following week I only have my eye injections then hopefully done for a while.

Beth glad to see Ty is on the mend. Sometimes we just never know what causes things but as long as they get better I am good with that. Happens to us sometimes too, we just never know.

Time for my second cup of coffee, then will get busy tidying the house, fertilizing, then breakfast.

Claudia and I had a great visit last week. I drove south a bit into Kentucky and joined her at a state park near a small lake and we hung out for a couple days, walking dogs, talking and staying cool enough in the extreme heat with the help of AC. The rig went in this morning for an oil change and I am waiting to hear what else they will find. My Roadtrek is 23 years old so between the mechanic and I, we try to keep things running even as they age. So far so good with the plan.

Jane has authorized me to begin discussions with an English Cocker breeder, who breeds and shows in both conformation and performance events, about a potential suitor. We are waiting to hear back. Virginia has been in the breed much longer than I (and I have been in the breed for 35 years) and I respect her opinions and insights. So I may or may not be traveling this fall, though there are a couple of nice Roadtrek GTGs scheduled by the solo women's group....

Keep doing what you do best out there, just know that if it involves creative cooking, extensive housekeeping or gardening you won't hear a peep from me. Now keeping the dogs groomed and reading books and newspapers and news magazines on Facebook and going to the Y for activities to stay mobile...I am all over those things....

Good afternoon ladies!

BJ, that is such a pretty picture of the deer in your yard! Karen, I know you have to be anxious to quit all your eye drops. Tina, that is so exciting about finding a breeder.

It's still warm in central FL. We had a storm come through today that dropped a little moisture on us. We will take what we get. We are running last minute errands to get ready for our trip to MD. Friends that live a few sites down from us will come for dinner tomorrow. She will be tending my inside and outside plants while we are gone. The plan is to get out of ere 6:00 Thursday morning and will see how far we can get. Our cottage will be ready for us Friday afternoon. It is waterfront so we are anxious to see the view. I will be making crabcakes for dinner with some sides.

BJ, I love seeing the wildlife. Karen, I'll never have no eye drops as I still have dry eyes. But now I'm back to only using them when I know my eyes need them. Irmi your cottage sounds wonderful. I hope it meets your expectations.

TY is probably about 90% which is wonderful. The vets office called this morning to check on him. If I had reported anything negative they would have wanted him back today. I feel lucky to have found them and they'll be my vet of choice now here in Benson.

Beth so glad Ty is doing well again. Also pretty cool you found a good vet, they are hard to come by. I have Refresh drops I use when needed for dry eyes. I am finishing up the Prednisone drops next week then I am just back to the Refresh drops (non prescription) as needed. That will work just fine for me.

Suppose to have good weather at the coast tomorrow, got the car loaded with my chair and Xpen so the dogs have a bigger area to chill in. Went and got gas and made sure I have money. AND a sweatshirt, ya know, just in case the wind decides to blow. Supposed to be sunny and 70 I like that weather. We cooled down today right now it is 75. Irmi your trip sounds great I am sure you will have lots of fun. Tina glad you got together with Claudia, we sure enjoyed her when she was out west here. Puppies hopefully coming your way, very exciting. Not too much exciting here ha ha BJ I am not too excited about the wildlife here. Those dang deer have eaten every blossom on the front of my Hydrangea so only a few blossoms on either side!!!! Then my camera went off the other night and caught 4 Racoons on my carport!!!! At first I thought it was the feral cats but the ringtails gave it away. I am really not fond of wildlife in my yard!!! BUT they arent in my backyard......yet so that is a good thing. My cameras would go off I have 3 on the back area , 1 in the carport and 2 on the front deck. Now I need a big ole siren to scare them off, I am sure my neighbors would love that. They do sell those cameras with floodlight and siren tho.

Third day here on north shore of Lake Superior. Lake was very calm today, and several people had paddle boards, so were out in the lake, but this lake is the coldest of the great lakes. It is said that the only reason to wear a life preserver on this lake is so they can more easily find your body, since it will not float in the cold water. Anyway, there were actually people swimming for a while also.

Air temp today was 70 degrees and it was sunny, so I went for a beachwalk. Lots of people sitting out on chairs enjoying the pleasant weather. One more day here, and I will be in Thunder Bay.

Also, I am getting very good cell service and thus internet through Rogers network. Also getting good satellite TV from Traverse City, but don't tell DISH as I am not supposed to be getting it while in Canada!!!

You would think I would have deer since I live in the country but I haven't seen one near me in years. If I drive to the end of the road by the river I might see one sometimes. I see a possum and an armadillo on my back camera almost every night. They set the motion lights off but that doesn't seem to bother them. I haven't seen a raccoon here in a long time but see them dead on the road all the time.

I haven't run into Claudia in a couple of years. I never know when she is going to show up.

I got my truck inspected and another can of gas for the mower. Picked up a shrimp poboy and came home. Called to see about my car and they are waiting on a part, a fuel pump control module. I think the part is the same thing that was replaced in December. If it happens again I may be driving a Honda again.

I'm glad I got the rest of my mowing done yesterday. This afternoon we had a pretty good rain and some rain predicted for the rest of the week.

Glad Ty is feeling better. He looks ready to play.

so glad that Ty is feeling so much better. He looks good . Tina glad you got to visit with Claudia and prospective pups in the future... how exciting!!!
Karen enjoy your trip to the coast and your visit with Laura. Irmi enjoy your road trip sounds like fun and a cabin overlooking the ocean that would be so fun... Its good that you have neighbors that will water for you
Martha if it's the same part makes one wonder why it broke so quickly ... we got rain as well always good unless one have been over whelmed with rain and it was cooler today as well
Judy that just sounds cold have a fun trip through Canada
Need to go to the post office tomorrow see what goodies came...
wish I knew how I want to fix the chicken that is in the fridge... kid downstairs is hoping that we will have a salad of some sorts...along with whatever... just no idea what to make with the chicken
did something today that I have been going to do for a very long time... it was well past due...
at least I can say I accomplished something!!!
the nurse was here today and I played around with this pattern will hope that it works out it's confusing though the video says to do 6 single crochet the written pattern says to do 10 but it also doesn't give the age of the person it is for... I actually would like to do one for a 3-6 month and I think the hat is for a 0-3 I might continue looking if I do it won't be ready this week
you all have a great day
