Cool Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cool Tuesday

Postby Colliemom » Tue Aug 06, 2024 7:41 am

Morning everyone. Cloudy and 58°..5 warmer than when I got up earlier. Rained during the night, so everything is wet. Supposed to head to about 76 today. No complaints here. Was a nice but mostly cloudy day yesterday. Perfect for working outside. Started working on repainting my shutters. Got all but two finished. Put all the finished ones back up except for two on garsge. Want to get new screws for those. Need more paint to finish painting last two. Ran out of energy anyway  Spent Monday afternoon mowing my yard, sub entrance, boat launch and a bit in. Walking path, so all set in that dept. for now.

Thinking about Liz and Nan and wondering if they are coming through through Deby with no issues. Pouring out a lot of rain in some places.

Judy, enjoy your trip around Superior. Don’t know if you have been across Trans Canada before, but once out of Manitoba it gets very boring and I mean boring, heading across Saskatchewan and Alberta till Calgary. Land as flat as a pancake and nothing to look at but miles of open flat Prarie devoid of everything. No hills, no tree, no fences, no poles, no nothing. Just you and endless miles of road. I would rather drive the U.S. Prarie as at least we have a few low rolling hills and buttes. When my friends and I took our trip across, we would guess how far ahead a grain elevator was we could see in the distance. in a small town. Sometimes they were 50 miles away. I’ve a feeling that Jasper is going to have to wait for another day. They have cancelled and refunded all camping reservations to Sept. 3rd so far. Some campground ds are destroyed.

I need to get dressed and moving here. Want to run down to Twp. Hall and vote. Primary today. I go in person for these small elections but will do absentee for. November. Then off to town for errands and bit of shopping. Have a nice day all.

Liz and several others checked in on Facebook, or at least on the breakfast group post later in the day yesterday on Facebook. They got water and limbs down but are all safe so far. Several bugged out for safety.

Just noon here.

Yesterday I threw that pie in the oven before noon. It is kind of bland but I put some caramel topping on it and some vanilla ice cream and it tastes better. It is just the WM bakery pie.

Was very tired all day so took a long nap in the afternoon. I took a sleepy pill last night and slept until 10:30 this morning. So I should be good to go today! Will try again for finishing the bedroom junk boxes and also the bathroom.

Still getting Docu-Sign stuff sent to me from Escrow, to sign for closing, which is still up in the air until they get those HOA documents  . More "hurry up and wait" :( !

Romeow had the zoomies this morning for over an hour! Not sure what his deal was. :? I hope he isn't gonna do that too often in the RV! Neighbors will think I am keeping a small herd of elephants inside! :o

Have a good day :D

HI all,

This week I just have a grand-pup to take care of while the kids are on vacation. Last week was a little crazy - had at 1 or 2 grandkids 7 out of 8 days along with my friend here for the week. Enjoyed having them - it's just exhausting. Lynn, setting boundaries early on is very necessary, I just don't think I'd be strong enough to enforce them with my grands. I'm such a wuss, but I know it would be necessary. Now to get my place back in order before my ex comes up to take care of Sadie while I visit my brothers in WA. Looking forward to seeing my 6 year old twin nieces - I haven't seen them since they were 2.
I've enjoyed watching the Olympics off & on - seeing familiar places in & around Paris.

Barbie, I hope the HOA docs get there in time for closing on Thursday.
Judy, the idea of driving across Canada sounded cool - until Sue mentioned how boring it would be.
It's good to hear that those in the path of Debby are doing ok.
Hope everyone enduring the heat or rain gets a respite.

I'd better get busy...
Take care,
Catherine

Once I was up, I got busy on the junk boxes. Got thru all those, organizing some and throwing out a lot. I found about 50 pens and 20 yellow highlighters! Not sure what to do with them all. Can those be donated if they still work?

I even went thru my file box and got rid of a lot of old paperwork, and reorganized what I had left. Didn't get to the bathroom today but that won't take long tomorrow and I might even get the kitchen done too. Depends on how I feel in the morning. :? I seem to lose motivation the day after a busy day. Will see...

Need to find some dinner and then watch a little TV and get to bed early. Not much to watch right now since it is between "seasons" for the shows right now. Ones I have been watching are done now and the new shows aren't starting for another week or two.

I was headed out to my meeting this afternoon. My car started and I backed out onto the road and the car died and wouldn't start. Grrrrrr I had to get the neighbors to help me push it out of the road. It was after 5 so I'll call a tow truck tomorrow. I went to my meeting in the truck. The meeting ran long and I didn't get out of there until 8:40 and it was already dark. I don't like to drive in town at night because of the black kids wearing black clothes walking in the street. There were 4 that were trying to cross the main street. Two went and two couldn't decide what they were going to do so I came to a complete stop. I don't know how more don't get hit.

I called to get an appointment for a hair cut and the lady that I go to is on vacation so I can't get my hair cut until next week. A week I'll have to keep from cutting it myself.
