Good morning or afternoon. Whatever the time is now! It’s afternoon now. Been on the phone off and on this whole morning getting things set up to take my car into the body shop at the dealership. They called first thing this morning to say they have all the paperwork from the insurance company needed to get a rental car since the ad no loaner available. Got car reserved for tomorrow but I was told they could pick me up at 11 am but when I called the local office he said 2:30! Left hand-right hand situation! But after a couple more calls I think I’m good for tomorrow afternoon. Body shop said it’s a 2-3 day job so hoping I’ll be all legal by the end of the week! And in between my son is texting me photos of their trip so far. Last night it was at a restaurant with pics of the lobster rolls and beach and today a walk on the beach. Think they’re in NH. Makes me not to take a trip to the beach. Glad he has some of my wanderlust and a willing partner to share it with him. I need to take Buddy over for a nice sniff walk today since I can’t take him with me in the rental. Plus I think they’re forecasting rain this week. Karen, sure nice that you can get out again with no restrictions! Sounds like Debby is causing some problems from FL on up the coastline and beyond. Hope everyone stays safe in her path. Barbie, you’re moving right along with your clean out to get ready for closing. Lyn, I remember my young GS telling me that if I moved into their house that he could visit whenever he wanted but I told him there’d be a lock on my door! That way he knew right away to not just come in whenever he wanted. Figured we’d establish that right away. He’s older now so don’t think it would be as much of a problem! I need to get some lunch before we walk so I’d better grab something. Times a wasting. Have a great day and stay safe.

Sharon, it's good to know your car will be repaired so it will pass inspection. Lyn, I agree with people knocking before tey come in.

Debby started raining on us yesterday afternoon on our way back from church. I had a hooded rain slicker on when I got out of the car and ran to the casita, and I was drenched from my knees down. A couple ours ago, I emptied our rain gauge and it ad 6 inches of rain. Since then, we have ad lots of downpours. Tere is usually a pond in the cow pasture behind us but it's been so long since we have ad rain, the ground is just soaking it all in. The wind wasn't bad. The gulf coast ad lots of flooding.

Our pickup will go into the body shop tomorrow and get a new bed and will be repainted. It will look like a new truck when we get it back. Tomorrow I have another eye Dr. appt. since tey lost their power when I was there Friday. I'm so tired of these appts. taking 2 ours. Sorry for being testy.

Pork chops, a salad, pasta salad and another side will be dinner. Steve likes a warm veggie with is dinner.

Hi gals! Just before noon here.

I didn't sleep well last night. Just restless and couldn't get comfortable for some reason. Can't even blame it on the cat!

I haven't gotten started yet on the junk boxes I have to go thru today, but have been perusing Craig's List. Found an RV near San Diego that I really like and looks well cared for (I can tell better in person tho). I just messaged them so will see what I hear back and if it is still available.

I better get up, eat something, and get started... Have a good one!

Good afternoon. Another hot day but what is new? My neighbor's car became disabled last week (maybe the starter as a jump didnt work) so they had it towed to their auto repair shop. She had a doctor appt this morning so I took her to that. She is the one who chauffered me to my cataract surgeries. So then we went and had breakfast and then did a little grocery shopping so she is stocked up for a few days. Stopped and got her mail so she is all set now. I have a nice social life going on this week ha ha Mary today, Laura tomorrow, Bunco on Wednesday.

So glad everyone in the path of Debby seems to have fared okay. I havent heard from any of our friends having any damage so far. A few have evacuated so they wont know until they get home.
Sharon glad you are getting your car fixed and a rental car. I just hate when I dont have my car in my driveway. Thank goodness doesnt happen very often. Irmi and Steve will have a brand new pick up. Nothing else on my agenda for today

It was 103 this afternoon so I didn't do much. I had to water the few plants I have on the carport. We can go from too much water to not enough fast. I probably should water the roses tomorrow. I put my tennis shoes on this afternoon but couldn't bring myself to get on the road. The cats had to come in and cool off a few times. I don't know how they can stand to sleep on the carport in this heat.

I cooked a piece of wild caught salmon tonight and it is so much better than the farm raised. I might even order it at a restaurant sometime. I kept digging around for something for lunch and finally made a chili hot dog.

I have my club meeting tomorrow night. I have the email taped over my desk so hopefully I won't forget it. The lady that schedules our Meetup meals is on vacation so nothing planed.

I hope Debby doesn't flood everyone. It's moving so slow that everywhere it goes there will be a lot of rain.

Been busy all day. Did four loads of laundry and ended up chatting with several neighbors. One had to use his 30 amp extension cord to reach his electric box, and he was really upset that the long cord would reduce his ability to use the AC on his rig. I think I convince him that the long cord would not prevent his AC from working--he was obviously a newcomer and very upset at not having AC. I told him I had used an extension and used AC many times in 12 years. His wife came over and thanked me later for calming him down.

Anyway, considering the high was 77 degrees today and it is expected to go down to 56 tonight, I doubt if anyone will need AC anyway. I did keep mine running today but that was namely because the screen on one of my windows does not fit tightly and I had to sway 5 big flies!!! I even used my heater last night. Sue lives on the 45th parallel, but this place is at the 46th parallel. Sault Saint Marie was founded in 1671 as a French fur trading site, but had been used as a passage from Lake Superior to Lake Huron for centuries before that by Native Americans who traded with one another. Now, it is known for the locks that enable ships to travel between these two Great Lakes. And the city campground I am staying at is right on the St. Mary's River where the ships pass close to shore after heading east out of the locks. Great place to see a lot of big bulk grain and ore carriers. Often, they will blow their horns as they pass, which is kind of neat.

Thursday, I head north into Canada and hop of the TransCanada Highway west across the north shore of Lake Superior. Will be even chillier up there!!!

I am curious Barbie you mentioned putting stuff in bins for the thrift stores...why not garbage bags?? or do you empty the bin at the thrift store and take them home... just curious
Sharon glad that you will be getting your car repaired and get a loaner... that will help I need to make arrangements to take mom's car in and have the oil changed if I remember I might do that before leaving for the wedding on Weds. drop it off at a place and pick it up on Thurs... might just do that
I'm glad that there seems no one harmed but we haven't heard from Liz yet about her and Nan

I had planned on having BLT's tonight forgot the bacon was lazy and didn't go out so had some fish fillets cole slaw and gold potato logs done in the A/F they are so yummy just now remembered I didn't do a veggie oops... speaking of potatoes I read this thing on yahoo what it boiled down to was a series of comments made because this one person commented on the dish that is served in UK those who have been there have you tried it? it was their baked potato (can only remember the term jacket but not the whole thing) topped with a mixer of canned tuna mixed with mayo with canned corn and beans not green added it to it and cheese I think she made it and tried it and didn't like it... so has anyone tried it and what were your thoughts???? also what do you think of the potatoes baked the UK way?
I think it was cooler today but didn't look to know for sure... was a bit windy tonight though

I made a hat for the nurses daughter gave it to her today she really liked it seems to think that her dd will hope she does

Martha glad you enjoyed your salmon... will have to look for the wild caught one caught my eye but it was cause of the name Scottish Salmon from get this Chile and around 17 dollars a pound... not going to be trying it anytime soon but why from Chile???

Sheila, that recipe sounds horrible!!! Also it took me two readings to find out why the bacon was lazy!

Judy, that was Sheila, not me. It doesn't sound good to me either!

Sheila, I use old bins that don't have lids anymore or have lids that don't lock on. I don't want them, so I use them for the thrift store stuff.

I read on FB that Liz and Nan are fine and their homes and community are fine, other than a few small trees down here and there.
