Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday, July 27

Morning from the cool 45th. Currently 58°. Warmer than yesterday’s 49° when I got up. Heading to around 80 today and then warmer as the week goes on as another heat wave coming in.

Sheiia, the craft show as really nice. Some beautiful things and a variety of products like soaps, honey, maple syrup, toasted almonds, which I love and did buy some to munch on. Otherwise didn’t buy anything else. Like you, have enough and getting rid of stuff, not adding more. Wasn’t in buying mood, just browsing. Such a pretty spot by the River to enjoy. Went across the road and watched the races come up the River, swing around the marker and head back down fast as thry could against the clock to set their place in the starting lineup. Then drove over to the canoe livery where Thry were starting from, about a mile upriver or so. Spent a few minutes talking with my pastor. He showed me where the lights were they have on the canoe to use at night. Not big, but enough to see where they are going. Those are really ling sleek and very lightweight canoes, made for a racing. Not much room in them either. Tonight off they go.

Anita, you asked if Diamond Painting would be good while on the road. Sure. It can be done anywhere. I’ve got a post in General Talk about it, with pictures of my set up. You don’t need much. Some people put theirs away and others leave it out. There are portfolios you can get to store them in when not working on it or devise your own storage idea and cases with bottles to store the diamonds in (called drills). I’ve got one on my kitchen table right now, that I sit down and work in whenever the mood strikes. Been there a month already. There’s a FB group called Diamond Painting Group - The Original and if you join it, you can ask questions and get a ton of info from the members. Really a nice group.

Barbie, looks like you are making progress pretty well. Judy, I saw that whistlers Campround is temporarily closed right now, Hopefully it escaped the flames.

Not much on my agenda today. Want to finish up that porch railing I’m working on. Just need to screw down the top rail and do some touch up painting on the balusters. Won’t take long. Not planning on doing too much outside this coming week as it will be too hot for the most part. Lot will depend on humidity. I have the spray paint for my shutters, but no hurry on that.

Irmi, that should be fun for you. Sue, I wouldn't mind a couple days with your cooler temps. I'm glad I switched my drive to SD to August after seeing the temps hapoening up there now. Liked like a hot as here a couple days ago.

I did some electric readings here this morning. Picked up my papers while walking TY, but came in and rested/ cooled off, then did part of them before returning for another cool off before going out and finishing.

Ty's begging to go out. I bet we don't get out of my site before he pees and turns to come back.

Have a great day ladies.

Quiet couple of days here. Just been doing some light house chores. Cant lift anything over a gallon of milk LOL so okay that feather duster worked for me. Since I can see better now I am not sure that is a good thing!!!! I see lots of dust and weeds ha ha oh well another week or so then I can get back to it. I am pretty bored just hanging out. I think tomorrow I will wash my car it is pretty dusty ha ha
fixed a pork cube steak, roasted veggies for dinner. My neighbor brought me a piece of champagne cake from her daughters birthday party yesterday It was pretty good, never had it before. 88 here right now so not too bad with the light breeze.

So, this happened this morning on the freeway...

Image

I left early to go to Palm Springs to drop off the leaky propane tank, and then was heading back home when my car started swerving back and forth. I pulled over right away and checked my tires. The right rear one was flat. I pulled ahead a little more off the shoulder for safety reasons. Then called Good Sam Roadside Assistance. After an hour I called them back and they said they found a guy who could come out but he was aways away towards LA. I waited 2 more hours before he arrived! I had the car running the whole time to keep the AC on, of course. He put the spare tire on and I headed home. I needed to go potty (I think I have a UTI :? ) and rest a little. Then went to my tire guy. He said the tire was shot so I needed a new one. The cheapest one he had that was like the other one in back turned out to be defective and it was the only one he had there. I didn't want to spend more money on a better tire, so he made a call to a friend with a shop not far from there and that guy had a match for my tire that was used but in good condition. I figured since I won't be keeping this car much longer, I don't want to spend a lot of money on it. I drove over there and they put the used one on and it only cost $58 total. Better than the almost $150 for the new one that turned out to be defective. Finally got home at 4pm! So that was my day!

I am resting now but I want to go out later and hose off the deck for tomorrow morning's project and get the paint, brushes, etc, I need for that, ready for morning. Will be 78* at sunrise. I also want to get the door locks put on the sliders. One of the slider handles needs to be paint too.

Will see how I feel tomorrow with my bladder issue and if I still have some discomfort, I will go to Urgent Care and get that taken care of.

I might take a little nap here before hosing off the deck later.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good rainy evening from Fairbanks!

I think we may be headed to an area with spotty or no service tomorrow.

Sue, thank you! I totally forgot about your post in General - duh! I wanted something that wouldn't take up a lot of room on the table and found a kit with 4 drink coasters. Haven't started it yet. I napped yesterday afternoon, after dinner and when I woke from that one, I got ready for bed. Think I was tired. The other 3 on this trip can't seem to make any decisions. Living alone, I don't have to deal with that obviously!

A house fire not too far my daughter in Washington spread to vegetation the other night. Luckily, they were able to contain it at 2 acres. My daughter laughed that I knew about it in Alaska before she did - happened after she went to bed. :)

Irmi, I'm sure you will enjoy playing that organ! Karen, glad you are doing well and being a good girl about the lifting! :) I finally downloaded Windows 11 and now find it won't let me scroll through today's posts to remember what I read (at least that what I'm blaming). Martha, I've left some nice tips after visiting at a restaurant table since the poor waitress couldn't serve anyone else there. Those conversations are too good to give up! :)

I thought maybe we would miss the rain today but didn't. I decided to go to Walmart, forgetting that Saturday was not a good day to go to Walmart. I got in and out without getting wet but it stormed while I was there. I just kept wandering around. I am trying to find an ant proof container for the cat food for the out side cats. I may have to look at the feed store or Tractor Supply. Or good old Amazon.

Barbie, sorry you had tire trouble. I had Good Sam Roadside Assistance for many years and finally got tired of them taking forever to get me help. I like Coach Net a lot better.

I saw someone doing the Diamond Painting in her lap while sitting around visiting at a campout. I'm sure I would drop something like that if I tried it.

The weather says the rain chances are going down and the heat is going up this coming week but may have something tropical in about a week.
