Sunshine Tuesday

Hellloooooo, anybody here! Guess the hot weather has you all down. We have a beautiful day here, with less humidity than yesterday. That humidity caused pop up storms late yesterday afternoon. We had a severe storm come through about 5 p.m. and we just caught the edge with heavy rain. But up the road about a mile and a half or so they had downed trees and some damaged awnings on campers at the state park and downed trees, some on homes, downed power lines too, on the west side of Otsego Lake. We had plenty of lead time before this hit thanks to the national weather service. One of our local TV stations was also tracking it and I was watching the radar. I could see it look like it was just barely going to go by here. Prior to that my weather radio went off with the warning, And about 15 minutes or so later both of my phones went off and also the TV with warnings. When we have bad weather coming like that. I always put the TV on The Weather Channel so I can monitor the bulletins on the screen. I put both the emergency bags downstairs in my storm room, collared the dogs and put a pair of shoes on and then waited to see what was going to happen. The weather has been a bit odd this summer inthat we don’t have a lot of organized storm fronts coming across, but the atmosphere has been such that we get these pop-ups times like yesterday, and they have been three tornadoes in parts of northern Michigan in the past three weeks or so. EFO to EF1. that is very unusual. More than we see in an entire summer. Plus a number of isolated storm wind damages in places.
Carol, as Martha says, you have to be the highest temps of everybody on here. Karen, hope your fire gets controlled. I saw something about a wildfire this morning but I didn’t catch where it was Judy, I don’t think any vehicle power windows will work after the engine is shut off, but mine will for a few minutes. Barbie, exciting times for you.
I’m heading off to fertilize the flowers out front at the entrance. Just got home from major grocery shopping. Then dogs and I will head for a walk.
