Last Saturday of June

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Saturday of June

Postby Colliemom » Sat Jun 29, 2024 8:28 am

Morning. Cloudy and a bit humid this morning, mostly from yesterday afternoon and last nights rain. High have been in the 60’s which is cool for this time of year. Level 1 Severe Storm possibility for this afternoon and evening. Bears watching as it can and has triggered off some small isolated small tornadoes, straight line Winds etc. in some areas of northern MI this Month. Funny things that are not part of a storm line, but just pop up. And no warning either unless they get detected strong enough on radar to have warnings issued.

I took advantage of the nice cool weather and finished up the landscaping around my porch. Rest the doing blocks and then filled behind with bags of stone. I really like the results. Need something to finish off the decorations on one side of the porch, so will keep my eye out. Now I can concentrate on the painting, where needed on the porch trim and the new step. May do the step tomorrow afternoon or Monday if it’s dry. So this morning I’m going to clean my bathroom and kitchen. Have a new DP set up on my kitchen table, so will probably work in that this afternoon since no outside work today.

Barbie, sorry you lost another buyer, but the right one will show up one day. My cousin is having same issues with her house too. Showings, but so far no offers. Shelia, your mom reminds me of my great aunt. She wasn’t much of an eater as she got older either. I think our bodies don’t require much as we age, especially when health issues arise. Beth, that’s crazy about the propane tank. Hope you get it like you want it.

Yesterday wasn’t a great day for me yesterday. Molly has developed an inco tenance issue, but urine test shows nothing. She has the symptoms of a UTI though. . She’s restless and everywhere she lays, there’s a damp spot. But it doesn’t smell strong like urine does. Had a talk with the vet last night, yes she does call after hours if her day gets too busy, and we decided to do some blood work on Monday morning. I wondered maybe if the eye drops she’s on, especially prednisolone might be culprit, but she doesn’t think so as dosage is so small. We shall see in Monday. Poor baby. And then yesterday morning, after I dropped off the urine sample, I went out to a friends garage swale to see what they were up to as had a lot of stuff to sell. Turns out they are moving to TX. Not good for me as he is my personal representative. Offered to do it last year after he heard my cousin passed away and I had nobody to take over. So that puts me back to square one again. And with both of my cousins moving, who are my patient advocates, my legal affairs arenow all messed up. I have two neighbors who offered to be patient advocates, but I’ve exhausted my options for personal rep. So now got to get with lawyer and get this mess straightened out. PR will not move till at least August at earliest and although one cuz has moved, other still here till house gets sold, so I have some leeway for now. So two big worries to deal with

But this isn’t getting my housework done, so best I get myself moving here. Have a nice day all.

I tried to post on yesterdays morning coffee but it was rejected something about the site. Sue we are going to a similar situation but they aren't called personal representatives. I hope Molly feels better soon. I am still dealing with the odd bites and rash mostly on my upper legs that is driving me crazy. If this will post I'll go back and see if I can post to yesterdays comments.

No it still won't let me post so this is what I was trying to say on Judy's post about dog training. I just noticed my post still didn't complete. Mu computer updated as I'm having several issues, especially with copy and paste.

Good morning gals!

BJ, maybe Beth can figure out what the problem is.

Sue, I hope you can figure out what is going on with Molly.

I have not yet done a will or health care directive, etc. Julie has her hands full with taking care of David 24/7 so she wouldn't be able to come out here to take care of anything. I absolutely don't want my other brother and his wife to have anything to do with me or my possessions. I really don't know anyone else I could ask to do that kind of stuff. I don't own much other than the house and car. But I do have a box of things (plus my autobiography once I finish it) I want to eventually go to my daughter. I need to find someone I can really trust to keep that and make sure she gets it one day and that it doesn't get in the hands of her parents first. However, being that I am re-establishing a good relationship with Julie and David now, once I sell the house and move to Arizona and just have the RV and a few things, it would be easier to ask her if she would be willing/able to help with all that. I can trust her to find a good home for the cats if needed, and I could will the RV to her. She wouldn't have to travel to take care of any other things. I can also trust her to hold on to Naomi's box and get it to her at a later time. It is hard when you don't have a lot of family or close friends that you trust, especially if you are single and don't have kids.

We dropped the price of the house yesterday and I updated the listing on our community website and FB page. I asked my agent to tweak a few things on the MLS and ReMax listing that needed to be added or reworded.

Anyways, today I think I will bring in the boxes of photos and go thru those. I can do that while I am watching golf! :D

Have a good day!

And the rain comes down here in PA. Rained late last night, had a lull, started with heavy rain and now in a lull again. Looking like that’s how the whole weekend will be. Our county is one of the ones under both flash flood and tornado watches. My concern is heavy winds with the trees across power lines, homes and roads rather than tornadoes. But one never knows, stranger things have happened! Tina, I appreciated what you said about dog trainers. I ended up paying way more than I had anticipated for Buddy’s training. I said I would never use an e-collar on a dog but was glad they changed my thinking and more importantly taught me how to use it. Buddy turned out to be a very hard dog to get through to and still is sometimes but we’re getting better. So it turned out to be money well spent. One of the things I appreciated was the consultation at first where she explained how things would be handled and her close observation of Buddy while we talked. I can still contact them if I have questions which is nice safety net too. So my two cents worth. Sue, guess I can’t blame you for this weather we’re having! So sorry but the health problems you pup is having. This is when you wish they could talk to us in human language! Just looked at the time so need to get to the meat market for some bones for Buddy. Hope you all have a great day.

Good afternoon ladies! I can get here again and I am elated! It's been warm ere wit temps in the low 90s with lots of humidity. We have been in the low 90s since the beginning of May. We left right after the service Sunday for a 3 day get away to visit the SE corner of Georgia. There is a river walk along the Santilla River that we walked. It was much longer than we anticipated but so glad we did that. We hope to take another trip sometime in the future. I have put in for two weeks off from church in August so we can go to MD. I gave them notice last year about this trip. The sky look's like we could get some rain. We really need it.

Irmi, be careful what you wish for, we have a hurricane headed this way. Right now they are saying there is a high so it should stay South and maybe go into Mexico.

I need to introduce Luna to my son's dog. He use to keep Sugar some and she got along with his dog fine. Frankie is three times larger than Luna but don't think he would hurt her. She is an instigator so don't know what she would do. I mentioned letting our dogs play to my neighbor but that didn't go anywhere. They never let their dogs out of the kennel. We have been neighbors for 50 years and my son even noticed how they tread animals when he was a kid. They killed their grandson's dog by putting horse or cattle wormer on it to treat heart worms instead of taking the dog to the vet.

I didn't take anything out to cook tomorrow. I still have BBQ but I have already had two meals and would like something different.

got the kid downstairs a hamburger and fries for him and mom to share...
caught a nap but still tired....
one day I will be over this "stuff" so tired of the cough.... and the so tired feeling
the kid downstairs needs to go to Casper for more training he wants me to drive him out to the airport as they are sending him in a company car so he needs to be out to the airport by 1 guess I will take him out after church if I go if not I will take him when I wake up and get myself moving...
been having problems tonight with the browser I guess still need to check out the bank and yahoo for mail...
not sure what the issue is hopefully it's fixed by now...
I never looked into dog training probably should have as there was a couple of issues I wished he didn't do but lived with them... I would check the credentials of whomever you opt for
be save Martha hopefully this one will not impact you or any others in the South
Irmi glad that you had your issues taken care of... I read about a lake or river some where in the East side of the nation :? that has some unusual water lilies guess it's the only place you will find these plants... now do I remember what the name was or the state or the river not on your live almost think one of the Carolina's but that is such a guess... I remember when I read about it that I thought I want to go there... I wouldn't even know how to research finding the plants
Sue hoping they figure out what is wrong with Molly with mom sometimes I win and sometimes I don't she ate all that I gave her yesterday even today until the chick sandwich not so much ate half of the meat

Just about midnight here. I have really bad indigestion tonight so I may be up for awhile. I took something for it so hopefully that will help soon.

I started on the bins of photos today. I had way more than I thought I did! :o I organized them all into separate catagories which took a couple hours to do. Now I need to go thru each of those piles and decide which ones to keep and which to toss. I did come across a few more photos of my great grandparents family, the ones I posted the photo of on here. One is just the mom and girls and one is just the parents.

I also found a bin full of family history information that apparently I had gotten years back that I forgot about. Also some things my mom had kept. One was a newsletter from the nursing home my grandmother was in. They interviewed her for the newsletter and she told some stories about her childhood. One was about the family coming back from Texas in the covered wagon and ended up in quicksand!! She said luckily they had a high spirited horse that was able to pull the wagon out before it got too deep. They later found out that another family had gotten stuck in there the day before and weren't able to escape! :( . Yikes! She said they had a really tough life growing up, being very poor. So that was really interesting! Found some other papers I still need to read.

Tomorrow I will get started on pitching photos. I think it will be harder than I thought.
