Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday, June 27

Good morning. The heat wave broke a couple of days ago and must say I’m glad! The humidity was high most of the time so was pretty uncomfortable. We had quite a rainstorm last night but luckily the high winds missed us for the most part. I managed to mow the backyard yesterday in stages. When I started we were under quite a cloud cover but then the sun came out and it was really hot so gave up for a bit until the clouds rolled in again. Only in the high 70’s today so it’ll be much more pleasant to be outside. I’ll wait for the road we walk on to dry out some before we head that way. With the wind it probably won’t take long. Barbie, sorry the guy didn’t show up the other day. But it’ll happen one day. Cheryl, good you are finally on the road and able to get some travel in this summer. I remember when I lived in Flagstaff how people coming from the southern part of the state were so surprised by the temperature difference. I need to make a ew phone calls today plus attempt to get my printer to work. Somehow it keeps losing the wifi connections and doesn’t seem to want to reconnect. So frustrating. So I guess I should get busy and get something accomplished today. Not like I don’t have plenty to do! Hope you all have a great day and enjoy a little something that brings you joy.

I went to my lunch with my camping friends. We alway have a good time with a lot of talking. I ordered off the lunch menu so didn't have any leftovers to bring home.

I woke up about 3:00 this morning to go to the bathroom. I was so dizzy I had to hold on to things to get to the bathroom. When I got up at 8:00 I felt fine.

It rained all around here today but never did rain here. I could hear thunder several times. The weather man was talking about something coming across the Atlantic and could develop into something about July 7th. Oh joy, something to worry about.

I think my camera on the front porch took a picture of a Weasel. I didn't know Louisiana had Weasels but the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says we have long tailed weasels. I make the cats come in at night and tonight Frosty brought me another rat. Thank goodness he left it on the porch so Luna didn't get it. I had to go put it in the trash bin. He kept wanting back out but sorry, the rat is gone.

my #3 dd is going to get a couple of kitties primarily to be mousers so how does she do this to train them to find the mice??? oh and she doesn't want the kitties to become mommies at what age can she have the kitties fixed??? those are the two questions I can remember she has never had kitties before and only had a dog for a couple of years she had this dog and went to live with my eldest hoping to find a job in that area unfortunately the little ones were playing with her and closed her in a air tight container just a sad time... it's taken her a very long time to want another pet... but she sometimes gets lots of mice and is hoping to eliminate them this way... but rats really Martha you need to train them to mice although it's good they are getting rid of nasties...
we had a bit of rain today was sprinkling one moment the next a down pour the next nothing ... truly it wasn't much longer than that hopefully enough to water the plants as I don't think that got done I mentioned it to the downstairs young man and he was going to do it... but he is a kid and forgot  he did bring up the laundry without my asking him to....
oh Irmi is having issues getting on here not sure what the problem is but she posted on FB asking for held in knowing what to do... I think the majority of the counsel was ask Beth...
did you get out for your walk Sharon?
still struggling with my bronchitis have quite a coughing attach when I first wake up and at times through out the day... have a hard time staying awake in the afternoon... will fall asleep listening to or reading even while doing something... and one day I will report that I got the plants planted but not tonight!!!
however I only have 2 more rows on the afghan so other than trimming the fringe I only have one more night... then will start on the next one... even have the yarn for it.... I need to finish the hats for the two greats... and the nurse has a really cute little girl so tempted to make a hat for her even have the pink yarn for it... her little girl loves pink
you all have a great day

Sheila, I don't think you have to train cats to catch mice, it just comes naturally. I don't have rats or mice in the house but there are really big and fat field rats around. The spay and neuter clinic near me says kittens have to be over 2 pounds and 8 weeks old to be spayed or neutered. They also need a rabies shot at 3 months. If there is an animal control place near your daughter she might be able to adopt and older cat that already has been fixed.

Sheila, have her check with local animal shelters. Some of them have unadoptable "working" cats (feral cats) that people can get as barn cats. Regular house cats would probably not survive outside since they wouldn't know how to defend themselves. Same with kittens. Feral cats are born knowing the dangers to look out for.

Martha, you might have just had low blood pressure when you got up, and maybe stood up too fast. That has happened to me before. I just sit on the edge of the bed for a few seconds and stand up slowly and I am fine after that.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
