Early Sunday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Early Sunday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Sun May 19, 2024 5:09 am

Morning all. Am awake at O’dark thirty and can’t go back to sleep. We are having some beautiful weather, which will make O’Sharon happy as it moves east. Plenty of sun and temps in 70’s to low 80’s. Nice breezes too. Perfect spring weather. Just a little rain on Thursday night.

Finished up my block laying project except for the landscape caulk that I need to secure the top layer to the bottom one, so they don’t move. So yesterday, took the day off from all this physical work. Went with cousin to other cousins garage sale. Was busy in the morning, but not too profitable as it slacked off in the afternoon she said. We only stayed for awhile until her GD’s arrived and decided she had enough help around, so headed home. . I spent rest of day researching vehicles and landscaping ideas, working on my DP and just relaxing.

Tomorow I will be picking up a rental to use for next 8 days. Getting an SUV, but don’t know what make or model. That will give me the ability to pick up dirt and flowers. Hopefully will hear from insurance company this week so we can get the ball rolling in one direction or other.

Martha, glad you survived the bad weather, hopefully that’s the end for awhile. Anita’s train trip sounds wonderful. I love traveling on trains. Karen, glad to had fun with your friend. Shelia, sounds like things are starting to fall into place with your mom’s care and you are having more time for you. Everybody’s busy with one thing or other it seems. Beth is overindulging she says  And Judy is heading to son’s. Thanks for the info on the movie, will look for it.

I’m going to have some breakfast and watch Mass on TV, the get Into finishing up planter box and be done with construction stuff. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.

Good morning, Sue. I just checked and it's still morning here. Enjoy the suv and I hope you get some news from your insurance soon. Ty and I had another short walk this morning, but better than yesterday's. I ended up with ok steps for the day yesterday so will work on that again later today. Funny, temps are lower in the morning but no breeze so the sun gets quite hot. Afternoons usually have a breeze and more tolerable. Of course mornings would be more tolerable if I got it an hour earlier. I'm usually awake but just dawdle too long.

I went through some of the pictures I have here yesterday and will do more of that today. I want to pick 5 or 6 to take for walls in the travel trailer. I've never hung any here so maybe after making some decisions on which are going I'll get to doing that, too. Time will tell. Lol

Good afternoon. Sunny this morning but clouding up now and 64 outside. Worked in the planters for a while this morning then after lunch went to a community meeting. We are having a block party on June 9th they are BBQ'ing ribs and chicken. We will just bring our chairs and a side dish. So some planning was involved today. I hope the weather holds. Not too hot and no rain LOL

Came home, made a potato salad and popped some ribs in the oven. Not much else going on here today.

Good evening!

After Shirl's post about all the rain, Seattle has been playing baseball in Baltimore. One nice day, one 4-hour rain delay day and one cloudy day so hope she saw a break. Beth, fun going through photos! I've always had a lot of family photos up, but since settling down, I've framed many of my photos for the walls. Could still do some more. Sue, enjoy the SUV!

Brother had good blood results today so infusion tomorrow. After having one thing and then another for 2 1/2 months, Monica did some deep housecleaning and a lot of yard weeding! Wanted it done both because it bugged her and because we don't know what's next. My suitcase is packed and it's a small one - too old to be lugging a big one around. Tomorrow I'll clean and go buy 'train food'. Tuesday will be last minute packing, do my nails, etc. Hoping not to run into any of these bad storms!

Yea, a day without rain here. My neighbor called and gave me a BBQ lunch. They had bought tickets for a fund raiser selling BBQ and had an extra plate. It was enough food for 3 meals for me. After it cooled off I went down to the pond but the fish weren't bitting very much. I was surprised that the mosquitoes weren't real bad. I need to mow the path to the pond when it dries up some.

Anita, what do you call train food? When I was young I spent a lot of time with my Grandmother that lived in North Texas. One of her daughters lived in Galveston and I rode the train with her to go visit one time. I can just barely remember some of the trip. I remember eating fried chicken out of a box. I don't know if it was sold on the train. In Galveston Aunt Ruth must have lived in a garage apartment because I remember the long stairs. Glad your brother will be able to get his infusion. Hope you daughter didn't over do it with the cleaning and yard work.

My grandson called and his mother has committed herself to a mental place. She told me a while back that she had been committed because she was causing trouble at the school because her daughter was being bullied. My grandson is having to take care of his step dad that is disabled and his half sister that is in the second grade. He will be 22 in July. That's a lot for a kid to take on. Hope his mother can get some help. She has done nothing but cause trouble with everyone for a long as I have know her.

Good Morning, my Grandson works in Houston and they were all sent home a day early because of the coming storm. I was happy to hear that.
Had a nice day at the GGD sixth birthday party yesterday. Parents had set up two small tents with a “jumping “ thing in the front yard so all the noise was limited to that area. I went and sat in the back yard and had a nice quiet peaceful day!
Anita, I’ve always liked the idea of a train trip. Saw a documentary on the trip you are going on. Looks like such a fun way to travel. Looking forward to reports from you.
