Good morning all, rain rain go away. I just stopped in to whine. I am so sick of rain. I have lost track of how many s
Days of rain and gloom we have had and the the future forecast doesn’t look any better. Family members have an app On their phone “Picture This” that identifies plants, condition, if a problem the treatment. I planted a Clemente’s that looks sad. App said has a fungus and is over watered. Duh, Treatment said spray with fungicide. I guess I can stick an umbrella in the ground to shield the plant. I would get the app but do not want to pay for it. Karen might find this handy and is tech savvy. If you see a free version please post. I’m going to go sit under the grow light and eat chocolate. Be safe

"I’m going to go sit under the grow light and eat chocolate."

I need that app for my hybiscus plant! Lost most of its leaves and looks pretty sad :(

Need to get up soon for my PT session.

Had a phone meeting with the SNAP people yesterday. Not sure yet if I qualify but answered all her questions and then needed to send her a copy of my SS statement.

I did get an email from unemployment to fill out the on-line form for the first 2 weeks of May so maybe I did get approved. I filled that out right away and sent it in.

I got a FB message from my friend Cathy, in Florida yesterday, so I called her. We haven't talked on the phone or seen each other in many years. She used to live a couple blocks from my dad's house when we were both in our early 20's. She was newly divorced and her boyfriend and my boyfriend were roommates. So that is how we met. We became instant best friends. She eventually moved back to Florida where she grew up. We talked on the phone for over 2 hours! Had a lot of catching up to do! She and her husband have lived on the gulf coast in Crystal River (where Donna lived), but finally decided they had enough of getting flooded out by the hurricanes. They just bought a house inland and uphill from where they were. I am glad they decided to do that. It was so nice talking to her again.

I got some embroidered decals ironed on to my new jean jacket. I think it looks pretty nice. Still want to add a little bit of rhinestones to it to finish it off.

Cats are down to their last bowl of food so I need to stop at the store and get some more before I come home from PT or I will be in big trouble with them! Like they say, "if the cat's ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!" :o

Yes, Sheila, I think there have been more tornadoes this year than normal. They say that the hurricane season will be worse too. I just hope the heat out here won't be worse than normal! Hope you get all the help you need for your mom now with Hospice.

Another 100* day here.

Gotta get moving...have a good day!

Good afternoon ladies!

Shirl, I talked to a friend in NC this morning and she said the rain wouldn't quit. I understand your frustration. Barbie, I hope you are able to get on disability. Maybe after you sell your home, you can get on the road.

The weather is crazy and am concerned about Martha. When I got up this morning, around 4, there were stars in the sky and we also ad lightning. Then we ad pouring rain and some winds but there wasn't any damage. It's been cloudy all day and our temperatures are mild.

I have an appointment tomorrow with my cardiologist. Depending on when we get out, we may splurge on lunch out. We don't do that very often. Steve cooked a steak and chicken on the Big Green Egg yesterday and we ave enough for leftovers. I'll make a salad to go with them.

Wherever you are, stay safe and keep an eye on the sky.

Thanks for the chuckle, Shirl. That said a grow light and chocolate would be good for me, too.

A young bird flew into the casita last night. I think he knocked himself out. Ty picked him up and brought him to me. No signs of injury so I put him on a towel and hoped for the best, but this morning we said our goodbyes to him. Ty surprised me how gentle he was. That said, I still cried both last night and this morning. Then I saw a woodpecker in my ocotillo tree and that brought joy.

Barbie, I hope you're able to collect. All the years you've worked for various Great Clips, I'm amazed they weren't more understanding.

We walked while it was low to mid-70's. Perfect for awhile. Still, no breeze and the Arizona sun started getting to me. This never happened before my bout with heart stroke. I loved summer. Still do, but have to be so much more careful. Luckily my porch ends up in the shade before noon and I can sit out there and enjoy no matter how hot temps get. Afternoons always seem to bring breezes and we walk more then just before the sun goes down. I'll still take this over your continual rains Shirl.

You beat me posting, irmi. I hope for good news from your cardiologist.

You gave me a chuckle, Shirl! Sorry about all the rain - so many places need it and so many places don't! We have been having wind at times but otherwise so nice!

Barbie, I couldn't remember who mentioned the hibiscus. Sparse watering (I usually wait until the leaves start to droop), loves light and I use fertilizer sticks. Does it need repotting? Beth, Ty so gentle! Irmi, good to see you back and hoping all is well with your cardiologist. Martha, scary times weatherwise in a lot of places!

Things are as normal as can be here for the moment. Monica had a bike ride at school yesterday - said she had jelly legs - plus she did some weeding yesterday. I should have thought to go do that for her when she was not feeling well! At least she's feeling better for now.

Audiology appointment yesterday in Wenatchee but didn't feel like stopping at Walmart. Duh, should have placed a pickup order! Did that this morning for this afternoon. Not really needing anything desperately except lots of vinegar - still trying to get rid of cat smell in the Sling! Cats have been coming on my patio in the evening.

Well, I went to my PT appointment and it turns out it isn't until tomorrow at 10.

So I stopped at the donut shop and got a chocolate covered bar. Then stopped at Aldi since I haven't been to one for a long time, but nothing interesting there and no IAMS cat food. Then to the library to drop off some books. Went over to WinCo to get the cat food and got a couple other little things while I was there, including a little window bird feeder that suction cups to the window. I put that on my bedroom window where the cats look out of. Forgot about bird seed, so I ordered a small bag of sunflower hearts on Amazon. I don't like to get the ones with shells or a mix of seeds because the birds make a total mess of those. They don't tend to do that with the sunflower seeds. Beth, sorry to hear about your little bird. Poor thing! :(

So now I need to make a couple calls and then get started on something around here. There is plenty to pick from! I should call Gloria later too, and see how she is doing at her daughter's house.

Hope Martha is doing OK. The eastern and southern states are really getting hammered with lots of bad weather lately. I won't complain about my heat. Actually it is cloudy here today and breezy so it felt really nice out this morning.

Have a good day!

Good afternoon. All the Bunco ladies left a little bit ago, got the dishes done and things put away. We had a good time with lots of laughs. These ladies are lots of fun. A couple odd ones but hey arent we all.
Saw the devastation from those darn tornados seems like so many this year. Shirl sorry about your rain. We had a very rainy winter and spring, but I kept telling myself "we need it". We are out of the drought now and have a decent snow pack but if we have really hot weather that will disappear quickly. I like the rain as long as we have couple days of rain, couple days of sunshine, you know, perfect weather. Good luck Irmi at your cardiologist appointment. Beth I sure dont tolerate the hot sun like I used to either. In fact I dont like it when it is really hot even in the shade. It is 83 here and I turned my AC on while the ladies were here as it was getting warm later in the afternoon. Barbie I have not had alot of good luck with Hibiscus. I know it needs sun and lots of nutrients. I am going to try one again and feed it weekly. They like full sun but benefit from some afternoon shade too. Shirl I have used that app before but then they wanted me to pay after the free trial and it is $36 a year........nope no thanks. I have used Google Lens before and it is free. I'm sure it isnt as good as that app but I'm not paying that kind of money for it. Hoping Martha is staying safe.
Well it is dinner time here for Emma and I so guess I better get a move on.

I survived the last round of storms and today the weather was nice. Some places are just now getting electricity back. We have more storms coming tomorrow night and Friday. I was thinking about cancelling my camping and my cat made up my mind for me. I happened to see Inky trying to use the litter box this morning. He could only pee a little bit and would keep scratching around and trying again. I called the vet and brought him in this afternoon. I always put a pad in the carrier when I bring them to the vet. He peed blood on the way to the vet. I'm glad the vet got to see that. Inky has a bladder or kidney infection. He's on antibiotics and special food. I have to give him half of a good size pill everyday. I just love giving pills to cats. I will have to put him in a cage to feed him.

An Aldi store opened in Lafayette last year and I have only been in there twice. I find their selections are limited and most things are their brand. I think the second time I went in I was looking for the turkey thighs for Thanksgiving. They don't have much of a meat selection either. I didn't know that you have to bring your own bags.

it's been a busy day... social worker aide niece/working with the lawn people getting the lines up and running (they broke something last fall when they were blowing out the pipes for the winter... although they were were we talked with them saw them in the lawn so mom was already to run out and see why  told her that they were the lawn people (a simple guess) had I seen the text from niece I'd known that for sure.... then nephew brought the cake pan back so just seemed busy mom wasn't any happier with the aide than me... but guess once she got her in the shower she was ok ....
the clinic that saw mom in Idaho sent a text to me with the bill had to go into the system to see what it was... the thing is that I had gotten one earlier before I went to Iowa and paid it when I got back in the mail that was picked up on Monday was a bill when I checked it was the same amount as what I paid and about the same time another text was really confused still am I called the number on the statement of course it was a busy time and to leave a message on line and they would get back with me... so assuming that the text was the same I decided to just go through it's system and see what was going on and it was a different price so not sure if they are the same company or not as it was a different amount but I figured I'd pay it tried and either I'm not doing it right or something as it was saying invalid number I absolutely hate automated stuff of this nature answer the stupid phone and take my information answer the questions I may have think when dd comes over on Friday will have her help me and hopefully fix this computer so it's lined up right... although sil can work on it for me... I was just frustrated... one of those want to throw the phone across the room but remember that you can't do that as it would break and that wouldn't be good
Irmi did you get a new laptop or avoid "H" words  good to hear from you hope the visit to the dr's was a good one
Beth that has to be sad and how neat to see Ty being so tender
Barbie good luck on getting the disability did you finish your porch project? it's always fun to reconnect with old friends ...
I saw on FB where a I think an member of the old forum perhaps even this one but years ago passed away last name was Caine I think?? first name started with a S and again I am not remembering the name Paulette ??? said how sorry she was so I am putting her name with us somewhere... saw a picture of her and she really looked familiar
I was going to mention that the hibiscus plant is so pretty hopefully you can figure out what it's issue is
also Shirl was thinking of you today... sitting under a heat lamp and eating chocolate sounds like a plan
you all have a great day

I remember her Sheila.....I also remember the huge, beautiful wedding they held for their only daughter.....and how shortly afterwards the daughter was divorced. I never met the family in person, however. I think they were from the Texas or Louisiana area......

I haven't figured out who Sheila was talking about but my memory is shot.

Evie, I would trade the chocolate for a glass of wine. I always pick up a margarita to take to my meeting.
