Was supposed to be super windy all day but was just off and on breezy. I thought I could finish patching the deck in about a half hour today but things always take longer than you think.
I sanded the deck and found some places with cracks that I missed so had to go back over those, and fill in some other spots that weren't even. There is a front door on the front of the deck that I never use because the litter box is in that entrance area in the house (I just use the slider to the porch to get in). The small piece of plywood in front of it was in bad shape so I used wood glue to hold the little pieces of loose wood together, like I did at the top of the steps. Will put wood filler over that tomorrow if needed. There are still bits of carpet around the edges along the sides of the house that I tried to cut off with a box cutter, but my blade is dull and I couldn't figure out how to remove the blade and turn it around to the sharper side.
Will have to see if I can find a guy around here and see if he can figure it out for me. So now I just have to do a few more things before I can start painting. I was fighting with the tube of wood filler again so I finally just cut off the bottom of the tube so it was easier to get it out. Made it much easier and faster to use.
We are under a high wind warning tonight thru tomorrow night. It is really howling out there now!
I hear things banging around out there. Won't be able to paint until the winds die down on the weekend sometime. Don't want the dust and sand to make my deck textured when it hits wet paint! Luckily, no rain in the forecast for us, with this storm. Just wind.
My SIL has all sorts of plans for us when I get there! No lounging around for me!
She loves arts and crafts, and museums. She wants to take me down to Tubac to see the art galleries and shops there. I know there is one that has gourd art by a well known gourd artist. Would like to see that. She also has a craft project she wants to work on with me.
Have a good night!
