Sunny But Breezy Saturday

Howdy all. Late morning here in northern Michigan. Currently 41°. We hit 64 on Wednesday before the cold front came through in late afternoon. Once it passed, the winds turned NW and temps nosedived during the night. Was 37 when I got up and still dropping. But stopped and did creep back to about 40. But very strong winds made it feel much colder. I’m loving this weather, although not so much the wind. This is the way fall should be, but over the years it has warmer up more. I grew up with crispy, cold falls and I miss it when it gets too warm. It feels like “up north” when the falls are chilly and there’s a bite to the air. A Time to prepare for winter, put up cords of firewood, enjoy fall walks, fires in the fireplace etc. Time to start slowing down from the faster pace of summer. I always loved and still do, wearing flannel shirts, warm coats and hats to be outdoors. We had a wood insert in our fireplace with a cooking surface on it, and it always smelled good coming from out side to a pot of chili cooking on it, or a roast or soup. We baked potatoes on it, heated up dinner rolls and other things.
Just finished cleaning my kitchen, bathroom and dusting. Ran the vac yesterday. So that’s done for awhile. This was clean the cupboard doors etc. day. Didn’t take too long. Spent tine outdoors for a couple days, finishing up chores and also ran a rope line down my property line on the west side. I’s 360 feet from front to back and that defines the line now. Have a bit more I would like to do, but whether it gets done now or spring, will depend on weather. Also put out of couple of glittery candy cans at front for Christmas while weather was nice. Have them covered in plastic for now. Am painting the last Christmas cutout too.
Was interesting reading the posts about dog flea, tick and Heartworm meds. Mine are on Interceptor for Heartworm. One thing that needs to be watched regarding these meds, is if they contain Ivermectin. The following breeds or dogs who are mixed with these breeds should not have any meds with Ivermectin. It can be deadly to them.
Australian Shepherd.
Border Collie.
Collie.
German Shepherd Dog.
Miniature American Shepherd.
Old English Sheepdog.
Shetland Sheepdog.
Skye Terrier.
Carol, glad to hear there’s some improvement with Bill’s issues. Hope the eye injections will help some too. Barbie, sounds like a very successful day. The more people who look, the more word gets around. Keeping fingers crossed. But don’t be disappointed if nothing develops right away. With a holiday coming, people are busy with other things. And more snowbirds come after the holidays too. Anita, I find those same questions on a couple of U.P. Travels sites. People don’t read previous answers, just keep repeating as you said.
Those of you who have been discussing hearing aids, might like to read this article from my Audiolgists. I have read this elsewhere as well, about hearing loss and dementia. One of the Audiologists has a PhD and she has traveled all over the country giving talks to both the public and hearing specialists about hearing and hearing related issues. https://www.audicare.com/blog/using-hea ... Gas keeps dropping here too. Down to $3.03 where I get gas. Don’t need any right now. But I do need my lunch, so am going to sign off. Have a nice dsy everybody.
