It’s Friiday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It’s Friiday

Good morning ladies. The sun finally came out this morning and although we definitely had frost it’s starting to warm up from the 28 we had earlier this morning.Hard for me to believe but Buddy and I were up and out early this morning. Had to leave the house about 8:15 to get over to the training center for our follow up appointment. Buddy behaved beautifully for me! Claire answered my questions and concerns and I’m hoping to get back on track with training. As I’ve said he’s doing great but I need to get it all down pat! And I spoke with another trainer before Claire came out and he told me how Buddy was a tough one for them but so pleased that he’s doing so well. Their encouragement was good for us both. And I so appreciate your kind thoughts and encouragement too. It’s kept me going these past few days while he’s been testing me. We still have a long way to go but I actually think we’ll make it!
Now I need to finish my coffee and and get out in the leaves. I pile them up and Buddy delights in running through them! Can’t blame it on the wind! I’m just happy that he’s happy and having some fun! Only a few days of no rain so need to take advantage of the nice weather. The last 3 days have been filled with appointments but now nothing for a couple of weeks so maybe I’ll be able to get ahead of the yard work! Now if I can get my kid to bring his pickup up I won’t have to bag them all. That remains to be seen, hunting comes first for him in November. Been interesting hearing about the eating out conversation. I too find it expensive and not all that satisfying most of the time. Plus I’m pretty sure by not eating out as much as I was before covid I’ve lost some of the pounds I had put on. Barbie, hope the home visit goes well for you this afternoon. My fingers are crossed. And hoping the good health continue for Lyn and Velda. And of course, anyone else dealing with health issues. Have a great day and enjoy being able to greet a new day.

Good morning, Sharon, and all who follow.

Thank you for your cheerful morning post. So very glad that things continue to go so well with your Buddy. The thing about dogs - especially young dogs - is that they will always "test" you.

It's just part of what it is to be a dog, I think.

Happy Autumn, everyone. Looks like cooler temps are finally here to stay. Autumn is my most favorite time of year.

Good morning gals

Sharon, I posted yesterday (but accidentally put it on Wednesday's thread! ). The showing was cancelled because the people changed their minds. :(

Now I need to get up and go outside and see if the ants are gone or dead, or whatever. Then I will hose off the patio and driveway to get rid of the ant carnage! I think I only got stung twice but it sure felt like a lot more! Will know for sure when the blisters show up. I guess what fire ants do is grab you with their front pincers and then sting you from their tail end repeatedly while they rotate in a circle from where they are attached to you in front. I woke up around 5am with terrible itching! Used the aloe vera again which has Lidocaine in it. It started to work in about 10 minutes.

Lots more RVs pulling in here yesterday! They all want to be here for opening golf day tomorrow.

I guess I should get up and do something. Have a good day!

Barbie, just a thought - how about making up a few flyers for your place, and then go and pass them around to people at this golf day thing? You could even chat them up a bit.

Might work!

I have flyers in front of my house. I plan to bring some to the Putters Golf league once that starts. I work tomorrow so can't do that then.

Barbie, your place should sell with you keeping up with it. I can't begin to say how upset I am with the mess in the trailers I go to look at. I don't know how many people sell them at all. I went to one that I want thrilled with the price of but thought if all was good, I'd consider it. Turned on the AC and it has a high pitched noise that would make it not usable. While they've done some work, it's a mess inside and when I asked if there was any wiggle room in price at all I was told adamantly no. So I suggested he get a few things fixed, especially the AC, and clean everything up and maybe his price could be met. The second one yesterday looked decent for an older model outside, but was a mess inside and a couple things done is have to redo. I actually could still consider that one. But I really don't want to have to start with that much of a cleaning job. And the other day I looked at a couple at a RV repair place they were selling on consignment and both I looked at were terrible inside. Worse was one said on their website it has a TV. I asked where and she said, it must not have one. She is the owner of the place and listed it. So then I didn't trust anything she or the website said. Anyway, it's one way to pass my time. I have quite a few more to set up viewings, probably next week.

Today I called Progressive and was able to change over to a company they use for insurance on my casita and got it for about 1/2 the price the company I was using was charging. I'll take it. That comes effective Monday.

It's low 80's outside and in my rig right now. Ty got his first short time off leash by the canals this morning when another lady and her dog were out there. Happy boy. We practiced him coming when called. He did pretty good. He knows I let him run in certain places so I try not to do the recall then as it sends mixed signals. But I would if there was danger, etc. When I saw a truck heading out way and called he came right up and waited for his leash. Yes, he can be good. Sharon, I hope Buddy continues following his training. I would have had to be way stricter with Ty if he was a bigger dog. Not really a good excuse, but I admit to being bad that way.

Well, spoke too soon I guess. 87 degrees outside right now, supposed to be cooler starting tomorrow.

One can but hope.

Still windy here, but not quite as much as yesterday--at least RV is not rocking and rolling any more!

I have been working on trying out my new iPhone 15. One thing I do not like with it is that if I am on a page, it is not easy to get back to the home area with all the icons. Or at least I have not figured it out, other than touching the bottom of the screen and pulling my finger up. Also, phone is a little different. One irritating thing is that I do NOT like to store anything on the Cloud, but it keeps reminding me to set up the Cloud function. The salesman already turned it off, but it still tells me that some of my files are not saving correctly to it. Got to do more research.

Realized that most of my cords and plugs will not work with my new phone because they are for USB ports. I did get one short cord with the phone and bought a second, longer one, along with a wall plug for it to fit into. I am using the short cord with a new 12 volt plug I will use in my motorhome cab, but I like to have a charging cord in my bedroom next to my bed and in my living area, so am short one cord. I did discover that the plugs for my two mobile hotspots DO use the USB C plugs, so I can use them in a pinch. I just don't like to move plugs around all the time.

Anyway, even with the wind, it is nice to watch the ocean during the day and listen to the waves all night. Not looking forward to having dark come earlier, but I suppose I will survive until March!!

Judy, I also got an iPhone 15. I bought adapters for USB ports for the C plug especially for in my vehicles and my Lazy Boy. I think if you set up the Cloud, you can then turn off all the back up. I do send my contacts and photos to the Cloud.

Had a day in the 50s with some sun after a couple of rainy days. Getting things done but not quickly. :)

I've got several adapters on order, but I do not want to save anything on the iCloud--ever, but I am having problems turning it off. I need to call the person who sold me the phone and set it up because I have searched for all the sites in Settings, but apparently are missing one or two.

I back up my laptop and phone to a portable external hard drive every month or so, and put the most recent hard drive in a safety deposit box when I am in Ohio or Napa.

did make it to the store... sure spent a lot but did find my Real Salt was pleased about that... it's amazing how quickly it will add up and you don't even know how... I did buy one of the meal kits cause it was marked 1/2 off of course when I was at the counter didn't see which one was marked down so didn't watch for it and they charged full price will need to go to the customer service area and get a refund...
it was a cloudy day today makes for it being dismal... supposed to rain but changed it's mind... been that way the last couple of days... it would say rain and or snow during a certain time period and then it doesn't do it... early in the summer said this area was going to get a heavy snow winter ... tonight I looked at a map and we are in brown oops not looking like a good winter... we will hope that changes... although the Teton's are dusted with snow now... and I don't think the snow from last winter went totally away... it may have but if it did was way late doing it..
started my hat over again kept getting wrong numbers not sure what I was doing but hoping now it will go right...
Velda that is a huge pot of chili :o I think I used 1 pound of meat
did get the stuff today to make Fruckles saw it on Yahoo so looked up the recipe and one of those hmmm I might need to try it ... so have everything now for it will make it when I am sure of having people around to consume it...
glad things are still going well with Buddy
hoping that with people coming into the park Barbie that there will be more interest...
you all have a great day

So much going on with everyone. I'm really happy to hear Buddy is doing well and you too Sharon! I've had both big and little dogs through the years and like Beth said ,size has to do with how strict one is with training and I totally agree. My big dogs, except for Emma, have always been much easier. Pippa on the other hand had ME trained in absolutely record time. Emma being the exception as she is with the trainer as much as she is here. I think it is due in part that when she is with the trainer the house rules are different, they (two other Standards) aren't allowed to interact with visitors.
Barbie have you ever talked to the woman about her barking dogs? Maybe she just doesn't realize how much of a problem they are.

Good morning, BJ, and all who follow. A bunch of little dogs yapping, yapping, yapping all of the time would drive me bat guano in very short order.

I feel for you, Barbie.
