Sunny Wednesday Afternoon

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Wednesday Afternoon

Postby JudyJB » Wed Oct 25, 2023 12:04 pm

OK, so it is not quite morning coffee, but it is a beautiful sunny afternoon, so I am getting this started. Then I am going for a long beach walk since most of my mosquito bites are calmed down. Will take my head net along, but since it is windy, I think it will be OK.

More later. Might even post a nice photo of the beach this afternoon. So nice to be next to the Atlantic.

Enjoy your ocean time, Judy. I wish I was surprised with my dentist visit, but expected the results. I go back tomorrow morning for a root canal and temp crown. Permanent crown will be in about two weeks.

Chilly 41, cloudy and raining hard earlier then the sun peeks out and then pours. The rain has stopped for now but supposed to be back later. Only supposed to be 54 today so sweatshirt weather for sure. Been fooling around with my Samsung TV to get the external antenna to work. I HATE Samsung tv and I have 2 of them. It never works in the settings like it is supposed to work. Had trouble setting up my DVD player but finally won. I cannot wait until they die LOL Today I got one of the Samsungs to recognize the antenna but the other one does but no volume so have to explore that problem. I know the antennas are good because they work on my ROKU tv. No wonder I am "Team Roku". Things are so simple on it. For now I am giving it a rest LOL Sometimes a break is what is needed.

Did a load of laundry, Henry vacuumed and then I dusted. I swear I do not know where all the dust comes from. Just got an alert that there was a couple of lightning strikes north of me. I didnt hear them or see anything and neither did the dog so that is good. Had some lunch so now time for a Mocha. And some Roku tv ha ha At least it still works.

I wish you the best, Beth, for tomorrow's dentist visit.

I confess that I have had more than my fair share of root canal procedures. Although they are never exactly fun (and really not too bad, at that) a root canal is certainly better than most alternatives.

Good luck!!

Feeling a little better today but still laying low. I keep taking my temp because I feel like I have one but so far it is normal or close to it. So far today, no sneezing yet. Just a headache and ears ringing. I have tinnitus anyways but they are ringing louder than normal.

Just been going thru my FB notifications and reading posts on my favorite pages. I don't get on there as much anymore so I have a lot of catching up to do, when I do get on there. Still have some emails to read yet as well. I was reading a book on ADHD that started out really interesting and then got into some stuff that I wasn't really agreeing with so I think I am done with that book. I have others I can read that I haven't finished yet (or started! )

Need to make a late lunch/early dinner soon. Probably a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato slice in it.

4 new large RV's on my street that pulled in this week. I am sure many more are here now throughout the park, as well. Lots more traffic around here now too. Still haven't heard anything about the Putters group starting up. I usually get an email from someone in charge of it. Nothing posted on our FB page either. :?

Beth, how much do they charge you there for a root canal and crown? I need a couple of crowns and maybe a root canal done but can't afford it here ($$$$ :o ) so am hoping I can wait until I get on the road and head to Mexico to get it done.

Back to work tomorrow from 1-6. Then off for 2 days again.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

My dentist isn't the least expensive but I trust them. And it's way less than in the states. My total cost, including today's visit with X-rays is $650.

Took my beachwalk down to the ruins of the pier about a quarter of a mile away. Took a bunch of photos of the pier and the huge flock of terns and gulls and then started to walk back to campground. However, just as I started, I noticed a couple of Coast Guard boats and then a submarine leaving the St. Mary's river. There is a big submarine base a few miles up the river, and when they head out to sea, they cannot submerge until they get out into the Atlantic, so they get a security escort on the way out. Plus, the local police drives up and down the beach to make sure there aren't any terrorists around.

So, when I saw the submarine and its escort, I started to run down the beach to get closer so I could get better photos. Except, I tripped and fell flat on my face!! Luckily, I did not hurt myself, but got help getting up from a nearby lady who said she was a nurse. Brushed myself off and continues walking and taking photos, but I am pretty stiff and sore tonight. Got home, stripped at the door and took a shower to get off the rest of the sand, salt, and mosquito spray. Felt better to put on clean clothes, as well. Lesson learned is that I am too old to run down a beach chasing a submarine!!

Anyway, photos are on my blog.

I woke up at 5:00 this morning with a migraine. Got up, took some aspirin and got a ziplock bag with ice and went back to bed. I tried to go back to sleep but never did. I took some more aspirin about 9:00 and by the time I picked up my son I was ok. I think it's been over a year since I have had a migraine. I wish they would put recliners in waiting room so I could take a nap. Since covid they don't have magazines anymore and I usually forget to bring one to read.

I had a root canal last year and I have to say it was it wasn't that bad. I went to my regular dentist, she took x-rays and sent me to a dentist the specializes in root canals. He did the root canal and the temporary crown. Then I went back to my regular dentist and she put the permanent crown. The total for both of them was $1,332.75. Beth, I hope yours goes well.

Judy, I think if I fell on my face they would have to pick up the pieces. My cats are always trying to trip me so I would be afraid to try to run.

I actually went through a stack of stuff so that is off the table I need to figure out why she keeps all the bills forever.... didn't find any that hadn't been paid so that is a win win....
made the soup ended up using bow tie pasta instead of the lasagna noodles brought the wrong type the ones I got was oven ready ... the recipe said to use the ones you boil... I never make lasagna so need to figure out what to do with those noodles... the scout drive has past not that I saw the tag or put anything out for them would have if I'd seen it and or remembered... because no one knows who brought what soup you really don't get much of a feed back other than the pan was empty.... guess that says something and the couple that picked up the soup for me told me he thought it was really good....I had them come pick it up as sometimes moving a pan of soup is not easy... even when here if I have spent time in the kitchen will have someone else pack the food to the table... if it's just mom and me then it's ok not as much or as heavy ...
before I forget Anne we live in an area that you can see snow 12 months out of the year... not that it sticks or last for very long in the summer months but it can happen ... and actually the end of Oct isn't too early for snow we have had a beautiful fall so it's about time it's rained a good portion of the day will not be surprised to see snow on the ground in the morning... I called a friend (knowing she would be leaving soon for St. George) hoping that she had some regular lasagna noodles... she laughed and said well she was in St. George decided the weather wasn't sounding good so she left early...it's predicted to have a I think 98% chance of wet tomorrow at some time...
Glad you weren't hurt Judy it was really nice that the person who helped you up was a nurse..
my niece bought a fresh pineapple the other day off a truck as well as a pomegranate (one of the largest I've seen) so was telling dd#4 about the fresh pineapple that she brought over (half of it only mom gets sick on fresh pineapple so I get to eat it all) she told me about a dip she makes Greek vanilla yogurt and a little bit of peanut butter sounds weird but it actually tasted good... I'm thinking apple might taste good as well
you all have a good day

Sheila, with oven ready lasagna noodles, you layer them like lasagna is usually made, only they are uncooked. Then you pour sauce over whole pan, then I filled jar with water and poured over, tightly cover with foil and bake. Used to make it for the family, before I learned I was wheat intolerant!
Had Bowen therapy and am really feeling it tonight. Means its working, therapist said.
Had a trip to store and put stuff away, and that's about all besides my usual treadmill walk that i did. Had rain for about an hour.
