Beautiful sunny, but cool, day here on Lake Lanier. Nice to watch the boats going by, except for the one or two incredibly noisy jet boats. Reminds me of teenagers who drive cars with noisy mufflers. When they go past, you cannot even talk!!

Just spent over an hour reading every post I have missed while just not feeling well enough to read - trying to get more sleep. Yesterday I spent about 10 hours in ER again, having awakened with extremely high BP, AGAIN! It just did not come down with taking all morning RX plus I had tingling in left arm and left side of my tongue and just didn't fell well. Cardiology office said, go to ER, so I did. Ended up having first a CT with contrast, which showed possible small stroke, so a MRI of head and neck with contrast followed. No stroke, but possible tiny blister aneurysm or could be just a slight anatomical difference. Plus my neck, as expected is fine blood vessel wise, but bone wise a mess So now I add a neurosurgeon to my list of to do's in near future. They talked to my cardiologist and raised one of the now 4 RXs , doubling it! Finally home around 10 pm. Tired, still with the tingling on Left, and hungry after a about 26 hour fast! Because of symptoms, I had not eaten before I went to hospital. Probably slightly dehydrated to as down another 2 lbs from yesterday morning. I'm still left asking why at down overall from my highest, 40 lbs since 2017, and about 12 down from 2021, before vax 1,my BP is so stubbornly high and spikes. Hope to find a endocrinologist soon ( anyone on 3 or more BP RX at max dose it's recommended a endocrinology eval for possible tumor or other hormone issues-(think thyroid, adrenals, etc) causing high bp? The good news is BP was down more this morning and tingling gone. Bad news is it was lower than this Thursday morning, so no clue why Friday spike and symptoms, and I dont yet know if doubling that RX will provide long term results. I just keep doing what I can. I still do average 2 miles a day on treadmill at least 5 days a week, which adds to mystery why BP keeps doing this.

Needless to say, I'll be avoiding any further CoVid vaccines. It's now known that at least 8% of women, and a smaller % of men have BP issues after CoVid vaccine. My Dr and I will carefully evaluate any and all future vaccines. I saw someone mentionng getting both flu and Covid vaccine on same day. Think very carefully before doing that. If you happen to have a reaction, not just a sore arm, you would not know which caused the reaction. Vaccine reactions are not as uncommon as you think, plus CoVid vaccine has caused many deaths, which you may not know about as its not talked about. I now have greatly increased tinnitus (happened within hours of CoVid shot 3), neurological issues, fatigue, lung damage, plus the BP issues, none of which I had a hint of before that first vaccine, 2 boosters And CoVId. Not trying to talk anyone out of anything, but do make an informed decision on any vaccine.

Fall is in and out here. Trees are mostly green, but a few leaves have changed color and are starting to drop. We are in day 5 of summers last hurrah, topping out between 90-95 each day since Tuesday. Nights a lovely 58. Clouds come and go but nothing more than a sprinkle or two here and there. We do get nice fall color here, with all the mature trees in our neighborhood! I love seeing it change.

I have one big procrastination project I hope to tackle today. Plus lots of smaller catch up. My Stormy cat is sure attentive this morning, jumping over and over to tell me how much she missed me, get head bumps and rubs, then off to look out window or walk around. She will be 18 years 9 mo next week !
Know I have missed directly commenting on a lot, but know each of you are in my thoughts each day.
Take care and be safe.
Velda

Good morning, was out working in my garden again this morning. Slowly but surely getting it taken care of. Another warm day here today. I really want to seal my aluminum awning at the seams but you are not supposed to apply it over 85 degrees and I know that aluminum is WAY hoter than that. I will just be patient. (not my best asset). So washed down the deck part that I need to stain so should be dry by tomorrow morning and I will try and finish that up.

Velda so sorry you are continuing to have so many issues. I am so thankful that mine cleared up after 9 horrible months. In talking with both my rheumatologist and my internal med the consensus is not advised to take the vaccine because of the issues I had. The after effects for some people are much greater than others. Of course it is totally my decision but I will take the same precautions I was taking when it was rampant. I took the vaccines, booster, flu, pneumonia shot and I dang near died after getting Covid the end of December. The Covid resolved but the after effects did not until September. So I am a big NO. I will for sure get the Flu and even the RSV. Follow that with wearing my mask in crowded public places, and use my hand sanitizer of which I have lots left LOL Like Anne I dont think the Covid is ever going to go away. I think it is here to stay. Just like the flu. I dont even think we know everything that has happened with or without the vaccine. Even about the vaccine. Long term effects are very scary. I still feel it is a personal choice and either way it is your right to get it or not.

Going to make a chocolate cherry cake today. I am thinking I need something sweet. I am not much of a sweet eater but every once in a while I like something chocolate and decadent.

Velda, what a struggle! I'm pretty sure Covid is here to stay as well. I'm not planning to be in a crowd until next May if I decide to take the train trip.

It's another beautiful day. Got ready to make the soup and discovered I didn't buy enough sauerkraut! Local store had festival going on nearby so not a time to go there. Argh. After that it was sort of a read a book day. Then a message from my brother that my Kansas daughter had posted on FB that my son-in-law had died in the ER yesterday unexpectedly! Hard to wrap my head around that. He was a terrific guy and deserved so much better than what he got with her. He had just turned 58 last week. This was the weekend of his family's annual brewfest so most are in the area. Just so sad.

Evie, I’m so sorry you lost your son. It’s so hard to lose a child. Five years out and it doesn’t get any better.

Anita, I can’t imagine Sauerkraut soup. My dad liked sauerkraut so we had it often as kids. I can eat a little if there are enough hot dogs or sausage in it. I have been wanting to make crab soup for a while but crab meat is so expensive and it’s made with cream so has about a thousand calories per serving. The local deli had some in containers the other day so I bought some to try. I think mine is better. Their soup was too thick so thinned it a little with half and half. Sorry to hear about your son-in-law.

We had some kind of mix up when I got laid off and had to switch Harold from my insurance to medicare. We were a month late signing him up for the drug plan so he had a penalty. It was only a few dollars a month but it was for the rest of his life.

I managed to get the mud stain out of my shirt but had to wash it 3 times with dawn soap on it. I have a closet full of shirts that I should wear to work outside in and not my good clothes.

Karen, I didn’t know salmon came in 6 oz cans. I will have to see if I can find some. My mother made salmon croquets and I liked them. I made some and my family wouldn’t eat them so I haven’t made them in years.

Peggy, have a safe trip to Mexico.

Sheila, I saw a picture of your hair on Facebook. Looks good.

Sharon, sorry you are having such a hard time with Buddy. Hopefully when he gets older he will settle down. I had to put my dog down a month ago because she had liver cancer. I keep saying I’m not going to get another dog but I’m on about 4 Heeler rescue sites on Facebook. I’m glad none are close to me. If you read the problems people are having with a dog and are trying to re-home one I think you are taking on someone else’s problems. So many end up in shelters and are killed. It wouldn’t be fair to a puppy for me to get one because Heeler’s are so active.

I have been looking at cars for the last couple of months trying to decide if or what to get. I wanted a car I could set up to tow so yesterday I bought an Equinox. I wanted a new car but all I could find in this area were the low end or high end models. I wanted something with more features but not one with a sun roof. Yesterday I bought a 2022 with only 12,000 miles on it. It was a demo for a salesman. Now I can think about setting it up to tow for the next 10 years like I did the Honda. I can’t pick it up until Monday and can add it to my insurance.

My son and I went and ate Mexican food last night. We went to the place he likes but I sure didn’t like it. He agreed that it wasn’t as good as he remembered. This morning my Meetup group was going to brunch but I didn’t feel like getting on the road so early. I have a loaf of raisin bread in the refrigerator so made my version of french toast. I found a container of eggnog in the freezer so mixed some egg and egg nog, soaked the raisin bread in it and fried it. Came out pretty good.

The cattle festival is going on this weekend. They were asking for volunteers at my meeting but I worked the festival for years. Walking doesn’t bother me but it just kills me to have to stand around. I don’t like working in the beer booth and having to ask people for their ID. I went by to get a festival tee-shirt but they were sold out of the larger sizes. They will have music from 4 to mid night but I just don’t like crowds anymore. I don’t know what the night crowd is like but the day crowd wasn’t much. They don’t have the rides anymore and that brought in a lot of people.

It was 66 this morning, almost time to start complaining about the cold. Yesterday the high wan 87. The first day in months that it didn’t get into the 90’s or 100’s. Fall might actually be here. The other day the second line of rain managed to miss me completely but thank goodness for the inch of rain. It was very windy today and we were under some kind of red fire alert because of the wind. It rolled up one of the rubber mats on the car port and turned over the ficus tree.

Velda, sorry you are having so many problems.

Martha, I was shocked to read this! Are you talking about your Sugar dog? This is terrible news. I am so very sorry for your loss, I didn't know she had been ill - perhaps you posted and I had missed it. My sincere condolences.

Velda, I am so very sorry to hear of your many serious health issues. You must be beside yourself. I hope that you can find a doctor to get to the bottom of this so that you can find relief.

I don't think we know all there is to know about the long-term side effects of these Covid vaccines, and I think we are purposefully not being told. I don't know where it will end, and if you look back and read my early posts, I was one of the biggest vaccine boosters in the beginning.

Anne
