Morning from the 45th. End of week fast approaching. Finally supposed to be getting some sun today with high in 60’s. Warming into 70’s for next three days or so, then back down again. Will take advantage of that to wash and clean my snowblower before service guys calls to tell me he’s coming. It’s been covered all summer, but I want to put a coat of ax on it. Also want to attach bagger system to my lawn tractor as leaves are coming down from the first trees to turn. Otherwise not much else doing around here.

Did get my errands done yesterday, but not until I helped neighbors get one neighbors pontoon boat out of the lake. Was having trouble getting it in the trailer. Had to bring the neighbor who’s truck they were using back up to his garage to get a couple wrenches to tighten a bolt on trailer down. Then rolled up my pant legs so I could wade in the water to help neighbor with boat. We finally got it out. Had slightly damp pant legs, but no big deal. Headed to town. They dried while I was out and about Couldn’t tell they were damp cause they are black pants. As to water temp, let’s just say it was “refreshing”. Got one gnome Christmas figure cut out and dogs and I went for a walk down a couple two tracks. Started raining but was light, so no issue. Something to be said about walking in the rain in the woods in the fall with a little color here and there.

Shelia, glad you were able to GTG with Tina. There is an app for IPhones called Picture This which identifies flowers and plants. Pretty neat. You just shoot a picture of the flower and it will tell you what it is. Beth, enjoy your visit with your sister. Barbie, have fun on your day trip. Judy, hope you find alternate campground. Deadline is approaching and no settlement, although they have played that game before.

I’m going to run the vac and then go out and cut a Christmas outfit out for the boy figure out front. Have to retrace the other small Christmas gnome as I didn’t realize the pattern was overlapping the one I did yesterday That’s a first. Must be losing my touch Actually more like trying to get as much out of the piece of plywood as I can. Already had cut a previous pattern in this sheet.

Still morning here but not for long! We finally saw some sun yesterday afternoon and it was sunny earlier this morning. Still some peeking through the increasing cloud cover but more rain in the forecast. And we have had cool nights, in the mid 40’s and not real warm in the daytime. Definite fall weather. But we have a few days of 70’s coming up so will enjoy them. Haven’t done much except normal everyday chores and walking with Buddy. Highlight of our day!! I made an appointment with a trainer for next week. I like that they talk to us first and assess what we need and their training is geared to each individual dog. Hope this one works out. We need to do something. I’ve never had a dog as much of a challenge as this guy. With all my big dogs I’ve never considered rehoming like I have with Buddy but I fear he might get passed from one place to another if he doesn’t settle down. Anyway, an ongoing dilemma. GD is home and doing in home PT and OT before she’ll go to outpatient rehab. Great that she’s finally home. But still a long road ahead. Nice to see so many mini GTG happening. Always a bright spot when it happens. I’m so hoping that by next spring Buddy is able to camp with me. Debating now if I should just go ahead and cover Lola for the winter. Leaves are starting to turn around here and of course drop so that’ll keep me busy! I have a feeling it’ll be fun trying to keep Buddy from helping me! I can see it now! Barbie, sorry the last people weren’t able to buy your home. That 9 month rule is really limiting buyers. So not much else happening around here and I should get busy with the next chore on my list. Need to vacuum the stairs and it’s a job I dislike but it needs to be done! Have a great day and enjoy it!

Many, many years ago I lived briefly in Vermont. This California girl had never had any experience with the vividness and depth of eastern fall foliage. I had rented the upstairs of a two-hundred-year-old home in in the small, rural town where I briefly lived.

One day I awoke to look out the windows to see my first breath of true color - having never seen this before, for a brief moment I thought something was suddenly wrong with the tall maples surrounding the old, white-clapboard house.

I soon realized what it was, so went for a walk down the dirt path at the side of my gravel road, down the wooded hillside, where I had often walked before.

There was always an older gentleman sitting on a rocking chair on a front porch of one of the old houses that I passed. He was always there, every single time I walked by. He would just stare at me, but never spoke. His stare was not unfriendly, I could tell he was just quiet.

That day, just as I strolled by, a brief burst of cold breeze came, as a sudden mist came down, blurring my view of the porch and the man and the bright red-yellow-green-purple-leaved trees.

I heard him chuckle.

"It's comin", he said, just loud enough for me to hear.

And so it was.

It was a magical day I shall never forget.

Good morning. It is a darn chilly one this morning. I had to cover up with my blanket in the recliner while I perused the internet and watched some news. Turned my heat on to 64 but my hands were still cold LOL I got busy and did some chores, even brought out the BBQ heavy cover to put on it. During the summer I just cover it with a crib sheet to keep the dust off. I laid it in the sun that came out to soften it up. I am actually warm now as I got busy and warmed right up. Later next week we will have a couple of 80 degree days so they say. I will start getting the plants in the garden removed.
Sharon glad to hear your grandaughter is improving. I know it will take a long time but any progress is better than none. She sounds like an amazing young woman. Hope you can get a handle on Buddy. I know how stubborn and energetic the Doodles can be. I am happy with my "apartment" dog as they call them. I dont have to take her hiking LOL She was very excited to play with my friends much larger dog when she was here. She is pretty timid tho and knew when to back off Sue is back to dressing the kids LOL I love what she is able to do. I would never be that clever in a million years. I have a load of laundry in as I like to change the bed as soon as someone leaves. You never know when someone else might want to come for a visit. So will put the guest bedroom back in order. Cleaned the bathrooms and swiffered the floors. Will do the kitchen later after Henry vacuums in there. I made a pot of chicken tortellini soup when my friend was here, and sent some home with her.......she said she loved it!!!! Good because I do too. She is easy company so I really hope she comes again soon.
Well guess I better go put the laundry in the dryer and continue on.....shower will be next. No plans to go anywhere today so will just relax this afternoon.

Nothing exciting in my life. Worked today. Nice weather so had a decent walk after work. Am rethinking all my clothes to take for next week as our fall temps are headed back to summer temps. It'll hit 90 here in Iowa a few of the days, luckily only mid 80's in Wisconsin. Just in case it drops I'll take one pair of leggings with an appropriate top. Otherwise shorts or sundresses are back. I'll probably repack Saturday night lol

My son and I got an early start to Baton Rouge in case there was traffic problems but got to BR two hours early. He is having an ongoing problem with his back. Doctors wanted to do surgery 10 years ago but now they don't. They keep sending him to pain management but they don't want to give him anything very strong for pain. He has to go back in 10 days for an MRI. The doctors don't seem to realize it's not just a hop, skip and jump to Baton Rouge for us. It's not a bad trip unless there's an accident and then it's a nightmare. I use to shop in Baton Rouge often so I know my way around pretty well. Baton Rouge really isn't that big like Houston or Dallas. We had breakfast at McDonalds and went on to the doctor's office an hour early. They went ahead and took him early. I have never eaten at a In N Out Burger place. My son wanted to pick up some food at a Jack in the Box. We don't have them around here. Their food was ok but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again.

Sharon, maybe Buddy will settle down as he gets older. I read the Red and Blue Heeler pages on Facebook and people call them "land sharks" until they get about 3 years old. I know that's a long time to put up with a puppy. We took an Australian Shepard from some friends one time because the wife said there was going to be a divorce if the dog didn't go. I don't know why they didn't like the dog, we got along with her ok and my son loved her. She never did work cattle very well but she didn't cause trouble. My son would tie his wagon to her collar and throw cookies so she would go after the cookies and pull him in the wagon. I sure miss those days.

I don't know if it rained during the night or while I was gone but there is 1/4 inch of rain in the rain gauge. I was worried because it was wet where we repaired the leak until I saw that it had rained.

Sorry I haven't been around. Have had a busy two weeks of Dr visits, dentist ( checkups), and tests. My echocardiogram came out good- basically same as 2014. Holter monitor stays until 10/17. Had another BP spike and spent early evening Sunday in ER. Pulmonary Monday with new inhaler which has me sleeping better. Tuesday cardiology and added a new drug. Have officially been accepted as Covid injured and Vaccine injured. My lungs are damaged and my BP control wrecked. No one knows if either will ever heal.
Cancelled Redding trip due to predicted 97° temps. Thinking of other things to do.

I am exhausted tonight! Got up early this morning and got ready for my daytrip to Idyllwild. It was a nice drive and a beautiful day. It got a little warmer up there than I had figured and there wasn't much of a breeze so when I went hiking in the local nature preserve, I got a little warm with my blue jeans on. I had read it was only supposed to get to 63* but it got into the low 70's. Took a nice leisurely walk thru the woods for a couple hours. I discovered that I am not as agile as I was before

I had stopped for breakfast in town before going for the hike. Headed back to town after the hike to check out the shops. They have some really cute shops there. I ended up buying a fall hoody jacket. It is very nice (and lined) and should keep me warm on chilly nights when I am on the road. I only have very light jackets and semi-wintery jackets so this one will be good for in between. Later in the afternoon, I decided to drive over to Hemet and eat at the Epic Wings there. We don't have one in the valley here and I really miss their chicken tenders. Well I got maybe half way there on the very windy mountain road when the traffic was stopped for road construction. I waited in line for about 20 minutes before giving up and turning around and headed back toward home. I knew I would have to come back that way later and didn't want to have to wait again, knowing that it would be getting dark before I got home and still had a lot of mountain driving to do yet. I stopped at Lake Hemet for a little break. The lake was really green with thick pea soup looking algae. Someone had their dog swimming around in it. I sure hope that isn't the super toxic algae that kills dogs if they ingest it. But it was nice to see the lake level up quite a bit from before.

Got home just as the sun was setting. Watched a little TV and am in bed now.

I got a text message that the guy installing my dishwasher will be here Monday morning. One more thing taken care of. I hid my dirty dishes in the current old one the other day when the house was being shown, and then forgot about them. I guess I better get them out of there and washed before Monday!

Got tomorrow off. Will see what other projects I can work on. Need to make a run to WM for the meds I forgot to pick up yesterday.

Beth, I got another message like that again today but have deleted both of them already. Good to know that USPS is aware of it tho.

It is cool out tonight but too humid to open the windows. It was so nice up in the mountains to have cool, fresh, dust-free air to breathe! The only issue in the woods was the little tiny flies that were flying around my head!

The cats just wore each other out chasing each other thru the house and are sleeping now, which is what I need to be doing (sleeping, not running thru the house! )

I saw this printed on a towel today..."I am on my second guardian angel. My first one quit and is now in therapy.". That gave me a laugh!

Velda, I am sorry to hear about your health condition. Covid really can mess up your body in many different ways. I am sorry you are dealing with these issues now. At least you are aware of them and hopefully can stay on top of it.

I'm so sorry Velda both for the diagnosis and for the long wait to get it! The Homeopath I talk to in Brazil is having a similar issue of not being able to get her BP under control and makes me wonder if the Covid connection is considered over there. What does it mean that you have officially been accepted as Covid injured and Vaccine injured? Will you be in some type of study or ?

Not in any studies yet. drs now finally agree with me instead of saying that can't be the cause! It's good to get it on record so if new stuff becomes available, I'll have access.
