Let's start our day with a good morning here.

I was able to get my engine started late yesterday with the help of a service person who banged on the starter motor, which they determined was the cause of my problem. Rather than spend the night in the Walmart parking lot, I managed to drive to a state park 25 miles away that had a lot of empty spots. Got here around 9:30 pm, even though I don't like to drive after dark, and logged into the reservation site and ended up with a site where I had electric and could get satellite TV.

CoachNet called and the earliest they could get me service was Thursday or Friday, so I am trying other options but may be stuck here until then. Got lots of food, propane, and am comfortable, but a little low on water. Messes up my schedule, but am hoping to hear from one company that may try to fit me in. More later.

Update: Called another place on my own and they originally said next week, but I used the "old lady traveling alone" ploy and they squeezed me in today! Got it started and am now sitting in vehicle while workers finish lunch. Yea!! Keeping my fingers crossed that the starter is only thing wrong. Son says it is quick to replace.

Judy, glad you made it to the shop. Hope it's a quick fix.

The restaurant we went to last night has been open since 1947. It looks like what you would think a college hamburger joint would look like. I don't think much has changed over the years. They only serve sandwiches and hamburgers, no french fries. My hamburger was good. It looks like they make their hamburger patties and they are not the kind that come frozen in a box. There were more people picking up orders than eating in.

I don't know what I'll do today. I need to dig up the wet area behind my RV port and find the leak so I can call a plumber. We might be able to fix it if it's not too bad. It's a pipe from the well so I can turn the water off if I have to.

I need to do something about my golf cart because it won't hold a charge. I would like a new one but haven't priced them. I don't like to go down to the pond unless I'm on the golf cart because the nosy cows have to come see what I'm doing.

Afternoon here already! Where does the morning go is my big question?! I did manage to vacuum and scrub the kitchen floor and spent time outside with Buddy so not a total loss of a few hours! Last night about an hour after we got back from our walk in the woods Buddy wanted out back and as soon as I walked out on the porch I saw Buddy heading toward a pile of feathers and a good sized hawk. We’ve suspected that’s where the dead pigeons have met their end but last night proved the theory. Luckily there wasn’t much left for Buddy to devour and I raked up all the feathers I could and the some of the stomach contents. Corn and some black seeds some of which I’m sure are still there. Got down as best I could without pulling grass up too. I don’t have a problem with the hawk’s choice of dinner but sure wish he’d not do it in my yard! My excitement for the day! Judy, sure hope they can get you back on the road today and that you don’t have to drive at night. Barbie, seems crazy that they are such a mess “cleaning” up the mess of their doing. I was going to mow today but somehow I’ve managed to be doing inside chores so it’ll wait until tomorrow. Looks like we’re going to have nice fall weather for the next couple of days and then a string of possible rainy days. I think it’s about time to think about getting Lola covered since I don’t see any trips in the near future. Still need to get Buddy calmed down when he rides in the car and to try to break him of chewing anything he can get his mouth on. And I still haven’t figured out a way to block the passage way so I can keep him in the back area. But still make it so I can access it easily. They’re really isn’t any way to fasten a gate or anything so still thinking about it once in awhile. Not a huge priority right now anyway. So that’s about all the rambling for me today! Need to get back to my latest project and try not to go off doing something else. One thing leads to another. We call it bunny trails! Hope you all have a good day. Stay healthy and safe.
Anita, just remembered you asked about the IPhone 14 and I have one that I got last winter and I don’t find it much different from the previous one I had. Probably does a lot more then I’ll ever use but it does what I want. Think my last one was a 10.

Sharon, I found a short leash that is about 14 inches long. It has a big loop on one end and a big snap on the other. I would run the seat belt thru the loop and hook the snap to my dog's harness. That would make her stay in her seat. I don't remember where I got it, probably Petsmart.

PS I found what I have on Petsmart. It's called a Kurgo seat belt tether.

I had to wait until they were finished with lunch, but they let me stay in my rig even while they worked on it. Half an hour and $400 later, I was back on the road!! I am halfway to Detroit right now on the Ohio Turnpike. REALLY glad I am back on the road also!!!

Do any of you watch the veterinarian shows on TV where the dog comes in with a face full of porcupine quills and they sedate him and then pull out all of the quills? ANd then the same dog is back the next week with more quills?? Amazing what dogs love to get into. My son's dog has a swollen lip, and we are pretty sure it is from catching a wasp or bee with her mouth. She loves to get into the bushes and find them.

Good afternoon!

Thanks for the replies about the iPhone! I'm trying to hold off a bit since I've been spending a lot lately. Sheila, glad you found the road! Judy, happy they got you taken care of!

It's almost 1 o'clock and I still haven't decided what to do today! It appears there is little if any smoke and temps in the 60s! Guess Fall is here. So many things I need to do and not really interested in any of them. Looked at Safeway ad for the next week and they have some good deals so will get there in the next couple days and maybe I'll remember the quilt shop this time. I've also been 'hoarding' recycling all summer and need to get rid of it. Sure wish they had recycle pickup here! Also need to go to Costco which is the other way.

Daughter's middle school soccer teams had their first games last night - makes about a 13-hour day for them. She said they had fun so well worth it. :)

Judy, we had a Boston Terrier years ago and I don't know how many times he got sprayed by a skunk. I must have tried every skunk spray remedy on him and I don't think any worked very well. I finally fenced the back yard so the skunks couldn't get in and he couldn't get out.

Good afternoon, really nice day today. Chilly mornings 46/76 today and we will be staying in the 70's MY kind of weather. Didnt do too much today as I had a dermatology appt this afternoon. She checked me over and a couple things I was wondering about are nothing LOL so clean bill of dermatology today. No more appts until Fridays eye doc injections. Then nothing for a month or so I hope. Paid my credit card bill.....yikes I do believe I was hemorrhaging money for a few weeks Generator, eye glasses, gas, groceries, car insurance. Yup spendy month for me. I dont have anything (so far) to buy in October. November is taxes and December is my house insurance.
Picked up a Hazelnut blended mocha while I was out. Not sure what dinner will bring, we shall see. I have plenty to choose from so I am sure I wont starve.

Judy glad you got back on the road with not too bad a dent in you wallet. Anita we dont have recycle anything but bottles and you have to take them to the bottle drop 0.10cents a bottle so I do take them back. If you want to recycle you have to take it to the dump...well that isnt going to happen. I am so shocked here in Roseburg they dont recycle. In Talent we recycled everything had about 15 cans at our dumpster for everything and a couple for just glass and cardboard. Oregon is supposed to be so "green" but apparently Roseburg doesnt know that.

Judy glad that you are on the road again... and that it wasn't an over the top expense ... yes 400 is a lot but it wasn't as bad as some things tires would be worse :o
I actually made it to my sister in laws house today made it down the river road... went actually further than I had planned... but still made it "here" need to get up in the morning sil needs to drop something off at 9:00 promptly so yes getting up early for me nephew is down to go golfing with his dad so I got to see one of my nephews and one of my great nieces...
I think Beth that I saw the name Kerryville but not sure... I called my grandson today to wish him a belated happy birthday... and he mentioned that his mom was wishing that I had asked her to go with me she might have... well had I known that she has a lot of vaca time to use I would have asked her so much nicer to go when you aren't alone... saw a couple of house that were really unusual very old looking make that more than two... another one looked like they built the house up by and attached to a silo know it's not but that was the first thought I had when I saw it.. everyone has gone to bed but me guess tonight I won't be reading in bed... since nephew is here sil is sleeping in the other bed in the room I am in and nephew is in the room with his dad... separate beds lol but I need to be quite when I go to bed guess no reading before I go to sleep won't know how to do it... she is actually doing a sleep test... as she doesn't sleep well so really hope that I don't wake her up when I go to bed...
