Morning everyone. Finally got some much needed rain yesterday when the cold front came through. Some rumbles of Thunder as one big storm passed just to the north of here. Was a rather dark day most of the time. But we are now in the low 60’s and there we will remain. Looking at cloudy, scattered shower type day today. Watching the hurricane in the Atlantic, to see what it will do. It’s predicted to turn north as it nears U.S. coast. They don’t always do what they are predicting. The daughter of the neighbors husband who just passed away, lives n FL and may be heading home from here shortly to get prepared. Saw more pictures from Idalia’s wrath at Liz, Nan and Birdie’s community. What a mess. It will certainly change the landscape of the village.
So today I am taking advantage of the weather and do some housecleaning this morning, since it’s too wet to do anything outside. Started painting the fall Duds for the Dress Up Darlings for October and will do more this afternoon. I have the Fall Farmers outfits on the bodies and will put them back out tomorrow. Think the neighbors are getting antsy for some fall decorations out there as am I. But the petunias are in a blooming fit right now. May have to intermix things a bit. I’ve dumped the porch flower boxes out and put them away and think the impatiens won’t be far behind. Will decorate my spot in front of garage this weekend. AFall/Halloween decorating is the next biggest season to Christmas here in Michigan.
Have a nice day all. Some thoughts to think about all the way.
WE ARE A GENERATION THAT WILL NEVER COME BACK.
A generation that walked to school and then walked back.
A generation that did their homework alone to get out asap to play in the street.
A generation that spent all their free time in the streets with their Friends.
A generation that played hide and seek when dark.
A generation that made mud cakes.
A generation that collected sports cards.
A generation that found, collected and washed & Returned empty coke bottles to the local grocery store for 5 cents each , then bought a Mountain Dew and candy bar with the money.
A generation that made paper toys with their bare hands.
A generation who bought vinyl albums to play on record players.
A generation that collected photos and albums of clippings of their life experiences as a Kid.
A generation that played board games and cards on rainy days.
A generation whose TV went off at midnight after playing the National Anthem.
A generation that had parents who were there.
A generation that laughed under the covers in bed so parents didn't know we were still awake.
A generation that is passing and unfortunately it will never return no matter how hard we try.
I loved Growing up when I did. it was the best of times.
