Morning everybody. Hard to believe it’s the end of August already and next weekend is Labor Day. Definitely can tell it by the clock, as we have lost an hour of daylight already. It’s cloudy here this morning and 61°. We had a beautiful afternoon yesterday and made it to 74, the warmest temp this week. I mentioned yesterday that they had 4 tornadoes in southern Michigan on Thursday night. It turned out to be 6. One hit on I-96, killing one person and knocking a bunch of cars off the road. Karen, sorry you are having fires and getting smoke where you are. I’m sure it invokes not so pleasant memories for you. Anita, I hope they can get your brothers nausea under control. Chemo is so had on the body and everybody gets affected differently.

Not sure what I am getting into today. I made some storm Windows about 3 years ago, for the back of my house which need some tweaking or I might rebuild them a bit different. So I might get into that. I’m in a project mood. May as well do that while I’m in between seasonal yard work, till the leaves come down and flowerbed/boxes need cleaning out. So think there is a be a trip to Lowe’s coming up. I have the little deer all done and outside with the bigger one. Still panting on the girls outfit. Looking at Christmas woodcrafts as well. I know this is only August , but takes time to do that stuff.

Good Morning Sue and all who check in later. The temperature has dropped and I feel much better. I think even staying inside the heat wore me down yesterday, the feel like temp was 114. I cancelled the three appointments I had and took to my chair. Slept most of the day and slept well until about 4:30 this morning. The temps dropped during the night from the predicted low of 85 into the 70's and I feel alive! I went to the farmers market and the wind picked up for awhile and had all the vendors holding on to their tents. It was crazy!
Sue do you have the wood framed storm windows? We have them on most of our windows and we need to try and find someone to take them down and clean them. But the finding someone is really a challenge. Same for our lawn, the couple who took care of it for a few years were great but they retired and new people just mow and weed eat and that's all.
Pippa has decided she doesn't want to eat and I foolishly let her sit in my lap a couple of times and yes, big mistake. She now thinks that's where she should eat. This morning when she didn't eat I picked it up and resolved not to give in. We'll see who wins.

Been mostly reading lately and have been sending prayers and healing thoughts for those with family illness and decisions to make on living situations for yourselves.

I lost a day somewhere. Thought today was Sunday so doing chores, thinking I leave tomorrow. Oh well. I'll have an extra do nothing day except starting at Devils Tower. Then off towards TRNP area to look for wild horses. Will start the trek south after that via CO.

I really like Wyoming. Did the last time I was here also, except for the winters but every Time I ask someone how they are, they say "not bad".

Good morning....still barely. Got my act together early and made the dreaded trip to Walmart. Not alot of people there at 8am. I am busy checking out when they start yelling "runner, runner" tried to stop some guy leaving but of course they were unsuccessful. I think this is when a taser would come in handy...hey it is still hands off, as is the rule. Stupid, even if the cops caught him he just "might" get a ticket (like he would pay it anyway). Heck I remember years ago if you were caught shoplifting they escorted you to the office and the cops took you away. I know the good old days. So I dont want to hear these stores hollering about their shoplifting losses. Would pay them to hire off duty police that CAN put hands on. Hospitals do this all the time in their ER's.
Got everything I needed and more LOL but wont have to go there again for another 6 months.

It is ribs tonight for dinner and the last of the green beans. Still have some watermelon left and it is really good. Might buy another one this week we shall see. Henry did his vacuuming and now I need to dust. Not sure where all the dust comes from. I also will check the filter in the furnace/AC

BJ I saw a similar cartoon about the Roomba, made me chuckle for sure. Thank goodness Henry knows his boundaries. Emma didnt eat her breakfast either this morning but that is not totally unusual. I leave the kibble and cheese there and usually she ends up eating it alot later. I dont think she is a morning dog LOL Sue I cant think of anything more tragic than you without a project ha ha I dont have a project today and I am okay with that LOL

First day with somewhat cooler temps. Now if the humidity would go down. I know, I'm just complaining lol. Ty and I got a good walk this morning and I got my laundry done.

Anita, I'm going to have your suggestion checked out, but this is only the 5th or 6th time over almost 10 years and always when extremely hot and humid. So it never happened this summer while in Arizona, but it's the 2nd time up here. I'll wait to see if it clears up or not. Luckily it's not causing damage, just is a pain.

Laundry done this morning. After I make the bed everything will be put away. I'm getting together with my friend Conni tomorrow. I haven't asked if she wants to do anything or if we can just be bums. Either works for me, but bums might be best lol. I only have my schedule through Wednesday so far, and I'm off Wednesday unless anything changes. I'll take it. The car needs an oil change and new windshield wipers, so that's my job for Wed. I know the full-time day shift worker will be off next weekend. Not sure how long she'll be gone, maybe a week. So I won't be surprised if I have more day shifts.

Taking it easy today. My shoes that I washed have not almost dried. The sun came out about 2 pm so I stuck them on my table to get some sunlight. Next, I need to clean the inside soles of my other pair because they have gotten wet and dirty as well because they are sandals. I'll use a toothbrush and some cleaner on just the inside soles, so won't take as long to dry. Basically, I keep a pair of shoes on the floor in the driver's seat area and another pair next to my side door. That way, I don't have to walk through my rig with shoes on.

I don't know where the dust comes from either, but I do know there is a lot more dust in an RV than in a condo, based on how often i have to dust now versus when I owned a condo.

Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and pleasant, so I might drive up the Bruce Peninsula. Wonder if there are any boat wreck tours?? You don't even need a glass-bottom boat in these crystal clear waters! ANd the town is tiny, but I can walk around, will have to get an early start, however, as it is a 1.5 hour drive there and back. On Monday, the genealogy center will be open, and I'll head there. Tuesday, I head to nearer Sarnia for three days and then back to Michigan across the Detroit River.

BJ, to answer your question. No aI do not. None of my Windows have storm windows as they are all vinyl double pane. But these are 30 years old and I replaced the one in the back bedroom with a good quality Anderson as well as the big bow window in the living room. I’m just making or I should say redoing three wood framed ones with a heavy clear vinyl for the back of the house where the winter winds hit. I just put them in the window frame outside and take them down in spring and put the screens back in. Course I wash the windows first Will be a washing Windows again before the weather gets too cold. Doesn’t take long. Just take out he screen, Wash window and put screen back in.

Karen, you’re so funny. But yeah, Love my projects. Truth be told, it’s been about a week since I have really done anything as far as projects other than sit and paint Dress Up Darlings outfits, and I’m getting bored with that. So decided to putter with this window project while I’m not pressed with fall chores yet. I do not like sitting around, doing nothing, or watching TV in the middle of the day. I’d rather be doing something constructive. There will be plenty of time to do nothing when I get old

Got a little busy this afternoon which is not like me LOL As I am "old" and practicing for "the home". Dont they make you rest every afternoon LOL I was going to fix the ribs but rethought that as pizza sounded good. So pizza it is. I will add some pepperoni, mozarella and some mushrooms. It is thin crust just what I like. I dont like soggy dough pizza's ha ha
Got my generator all dialed in so now we probably wont have another power outage!!!!! BUT if we do I am ready.

Beth when I had one of my motorhomes my roof air leaked onto the floor too. I took it in and it was plugged. As long as it didnt rain hard it was okay. But they cleaned out the tubes for me and all was well after that.

Was checking all my banking sites today. Got to my credit card and about had a heart attack. Apparently I spent quite a bit of money this month. Then I remember I bought the generator.. I also had my coast trip expenses on there, I should have a good credit at Amazon next month. Think I will be a girl on a budget next month for sure. I have car insurance, property taxes and house insurance coming up to end out the year.

Anne, no problem with the book! I got tired of reading about her personal 'woes' and skipped a lot of that. Karen, those people running out with goods seems to be coming more prevalent! It was horrible when my daughter worked for Ulta before moving over here.

Not a very productive day holding down the recliner to watch football and baseball. Some things done during commercials.

Sharon, hope you found the weed eater cord. The last time I was in Lowe's the store was full of Halloween decorations. They haven't started on Thanksgiving or Christmas yet.

BJ, who won you or Pippa? lol My dog just stands and stairs at me until I get up to see what she wants.

Cheryl, I would take the "not bad" winters in Wyoming with a grain of salt.

It was another 105 day. Someone on TV was talking about the trees being stressed so I decided to water the big oak tree in the yard. The ground is so hard that the water doesn't soak in.

I missed the news today so I haven't heard if the big fire in Louisiana has been contained yet. Yesterday they evacuated a whole town about 50 miles from where my sister lives. This afternoon it actually rained on me on the way to town but nothing at home.

Tomorrow I have the hospice dinearound. It's at the Longhorn Steakhouse so that's good.

we had a church activity by the lake ... it was suppose to start at 2 and food at 4 planned on leaving at 3 so I would be there by 4 made a coleslaw it's my favorite one... lots a yummies in it I didn't look at some of the veggies till I was making the slaw celery was ok although on it's last leg it will work for under the roast tomorrow... I salvaged about half of the pepper guess it's been awhile since I bought it.. had some left over but because it was out for 4 hours I tossed it dd is coming tomorrow for supper will give her a choice I can remake it or have the chopped salad I bought mom decided that she wasn't going to go just awhile before I left we had a deluge of rain... asked her if she had changed her mind... nope so went wondering if we would end up coming back to town... but as I got further north it cleared up and was really a nice day... one of my friends took the salad and I slowly started down the incline it was so steep I really need to get walking sticks.... a kind person came up and offered his arm... so grateful for it... got sat down and pretty much stayed there until it was time to eat gathered up some food and sat back down then sent the salad up the hill with my nephew and faced going up on my own again had help one of the young men helped me and then as we were struggling up one of the women came and gave another helping arm... got up there just as nephew was coming down so he went up and moved the car over to where I didn't have to cross the parking lot... some of it is due to the oxygen but a lot of it is simply being too over weight and out of shape...
I don't think that is something I will do until I change something.... I am really glad that mom didn't come with me as it would have been a real problem getting her down and up the hill
there was a couple of boats and water boards or whatever they are called that the kids were so enjoying one boat had a thing he was pulling behind the boat they had so much fun in it could have gone for a ride in a boat but didn't think I could get on it .... would love to take a boat ride on that lake...
Cheryl if WY calls your name research it you might be surprised don't research the state as a whole but individual communities for example Dubois gets very little snow the same with Lander/ Riverton area but along I-80 if it's not the snow that closes it it's the wind blowing the snow...

Sheila, I forgot to answer your question. Funny the things that come to us when we're trying to go to sleep lol. I'll be here until at least the end of September, most likely a week or so into October, too. But in October I'll also be trying to visit my sister in WI before heading south. So I'm hoping you can come in September, if you're able to make the trip.

Went in to work this morning. The assistant manager called out sick and was the only one with a key to get in. Her mom came with the key just before we were to open. I worked with a manager from another shop. I was just scheduled til 3 and we close at 6. I told her I had to leave at 3 (because I knew I would be in pain by then, and I was). It was quiet in the morning but we got hit at 11am for about an hour or more, and then it die out again.

I saw that WM has Halloween candy and other stuff out already. I haven't been back to the garden area to see if the Christmas stuff is out yet, but I imagine it is. I know Hobby Lobby has all their Christmas stuff out now, but with being a craft store, they need to do that since people need time to make their Christmas projects in time for the season.

Doesn't feel like fall here yet. Still in the mid 100 teens for highs. At least it is less humid now.

When Romeow wants more food in his dish, he gets really affectionate. So I don't mind him being a little hungry since I love when he wants to cuddle with me. I think he is also getting more affectionate because he is jealous when I cuddle with Sophie, so now he wants to get some TLC too.

I have been grinding my teeth more lately, I think because of my sciatica pain. So now my teeth hurt. I have one bad tooth I need to get looked at and that one really hurts when I grind my teeth! I have a mouth guard but it doesn't fit very well so I need to buy another kit and make a new one that is more comfortable. It does help at night especially.

I got a card in the mail yesterday from a couple who have a park model here and are from Washington. They wanted to thank me for all the photos and information about the storm damage here so they were able to see that their house was OK. I was very touched by that! There was also a post on our FB page with a big thank you to several of us who put that info on there and checked on places here for people, etc. I was mentioned in that as well. I just did that to give the snowbirds some peace of mind or let them know of any damage done that needed to be taken care of. I have also gotten a couple of thank-you's in emails. Nice to be appreciated!

I have tomorrow off so I need to get something done around here, and also watch some golf.
