What? No Sunday Posters Yet?

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

What? No Sunday Posters Yet?

OK, I am going to start the posting today. Hope those of you in the heat are surviving. I am right on Lake Erie, but in Michigan, and high is only going to be 83 today, so AC is keeping up.

More when I think of what to say.

Everybody’s probably busy. I know I have been today. Watched Mass on TV, then went to Meijer for a few grocery items, Home Depot for more deck paint, washed off my deck, had lunch, put primer on a patch of bare deck board I was had scraped and sanded, cleaned a few paint spots of my house siding I accidentally got on there while I was painting other part of the deck, walked along the POA walking path and cut out nose skinny little roots that can become tripping hazards, then put a coat of paint in the primed board, set the base stone back in place for my statue. Sounds like a lot, but other than the shopping and walking the path, the rest was just little quick jobs.

It’s sunny and 79°. We have some of the Canadian fire smoke back. First time in about a month. Should be filtering out of the area by tomorrow. Code for coming down and where are they going to be into the 60s or lower 70s for the next few days.

Good morning. Been busy with watering and fertilizing my hydrangeas, rhododendron, and Azalea bushes. Then gave an extra shot of water to some other flowers. I have to work in the morning before it gets hot outside. So I come in now, have some lunch then catch up on here. Been slow lately but figure people are busy too. I have a couple tomatoes that will be ripe for the picking soon and lots of green ones coming. Now if they just dont all come at once LOL I dont want to have to can any. Altho I dont mind canning tomatoes as you just use the boiling water bath instead of the pressure canner. (which I no longer have nor want LOL)

Need to shampoo the living room and dining room but think I will do it tomorrow and get an earlier start so it can dry. Making ice in my portable ice maker as I am down to one bag.

I decided to cook so that kept me busy for a while. When I went to the grocery store the other day I got a big container of sliced mushrooms. I have a big bag of thin sliced chicken breast in the freezer so looked online for a recipe that called for chicken and mushrooms. I cooked the chicken and mushrooms in a cream sauce. It was pretty good. I tried a hint from Facebook about using one of the small clothes hangers with clips to hold a recipe and hang it from a cabinet knob. That worked really well.

Judy, I will have to order some Baklava. It looks so good.

I have a portable ice maker that I have never used. I have found that if I bring two quart size zip lock bags of ice from home when I go camping that's usually all the ice I need. I seldom use ice at home and the ice maker in the refrigerator gets jammed up all the time and I have to dump the container. Really cold things hurt my teeth so usually drink things at room temperature.

The radar shows scattered showers in the area and I just heard thunder. I'll see if this will post before the internet goes out.

Good afternoon ladies!

Judy, I loved the picture of the yummies you bought! They look so good! Sue, you're busy as usual and I wish I was as diligent as you are. Karen, we always carry one of the counter top ice makers with us and love it. We try to keep at least two freezer bags of ice in our freezer. Shirl, is everything okay on the eastern shore? Sheila, I love the potted plants you have on your deck. I hope you're able to get out of being on the jury. Anne, your garden is doing quite well! Beth, the pictures of your area are stunning! Pat, I think about you often and hope your sister has moved out. Lyn, how is your son? Velda, how do like the low carb pasta? Martha, you just posted and I wanted to let you know your post yesterday was so funny! It made my day.

It's been warm here lately with afternoon temperatures in the low to mid 90's. But that's nothing compared to what Barbie & Carol are having. Our pergola is completed shaded around noontime, so with the paddle fan and two portable fans that we got from Amazon, we're very comfortable out there. We try to spend a couple hours outside everyday reading or whatever.

The resort we live in donated 3 mahogany tables, that are very pretty, to our church along with chairs on casters. I've arranged a mover to pick them up and they'll be here Wednesday morning and they will go in our parish hall where we have our coffee hours and potluck lunches.

It's lightly raining at the moment and our temperature is 85.

Ty and I were out walking shortly after 6. I woke and looked at the weather and was pleasantly surprised to see it was 69 out (low called for was 75) so we got up and out and enjoyed a decent walk. It got windy last night and just have been windows than was called for also. My outside rug which has heavy rocks around it was blown over and sideways. Since I'll be preparing to leave in just over a week, I decided to fold it up and put it away. One task done early lol. Then I vacuumed. Next weekend I'll be putting the fridge in the RV on and making sure I can fit everything in it. I know I'm good on the fridge portion, but might have to finagle in the freezer. Then I can't see what I want to buy for the trip. Probably just fresh fruits and veggies. I originally planned to leave a week from Wednesday, but last night I decided it'll probably be Tuesday. I want to stop at a petroglyph location in New Mexico and take the time to walk around it. It's my favorite petroglyph place. Sparkle got me there way back in, I think 2008. So I'm adding a day to make sure I have time to spend there.

It's up to 98 here now.

Good Afternoon All - Got up early and tried to get a few things done before sit and sweat time. Lowest it got last night was 91 - AC came on few minutes after I got up. Ran the dishwasher just as I went to bed - not peak energy time. Also did laundry first thing this a.m. Figured not many using too much electricity on Sunday morning. Then did some cleaning of areas I tend to neglect. Watered what is left of my geraniums. Two plants are completely dead. Other four aren't looking too happy. They are in shade but it is still way too hot outside. Tempted to put the artificer plants back out there - until next inspection time. Might go to Hobby Lobby to see if they have nice artificial geraniums. Maybe"they" wouldn't see the difference. The room where my computer is is on the west side of the house - so gets sun all afternoon. Vent is under Bill's computer desk, so not much cool air coming out. It is 90 in here. I usually, in this weather, only work on the computer early in the a.m. Tomorrow I'm going to try calling the electric company and see if they will disable my new thermostats ECO system. During high energy usage time they raise the setting four degrees from where I have it set. Sorry 83 is too high for me. We have at least 6 more days of 110 or higher coming.
Cooked a good dinner last night. Chicken 1 inch cubes, squash, zucchini, potato cubes, diced onions, red and yellow pepper chunks season with olive oil, garlic, onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning. Wrap serving sizes in foil and bake 25 minutes in 450 oven. easy and good. No clean up needed - can eat it right out of the foil if wanted to.
Bill went on cooking spree and made a bunch of chicken Milanese the other day. Freezes good for sandwiches and meals. His eye is slowly getting better. Hope it continues as we have to renew our drivers licenses in October. Was hoping we could do it online, but can't if over 71 - Long past that age.
Need to get out of this room into cooler places. Take care, watch the weather where ever you are.

it's hot tonight although the computer says it's 65 outside...still at 11:00 pm that is hot... the fan is going I'm just waiting for mom to turn it off... the ice isn't melting in my glass fast enough ..... I filled a glass full of ice and water not much water when full of ice so ran out of ice water a long time ago so drinking the water as the ice melts... no fast enough though
finally reached out in messenger to my siblings basically said we had a few things we need to talk about and went on about hoping to go to Q this winter... and we need to figure out away also that walk in shower is getting needed and that I want to take a couple weeks off to go to Iowa and that I've gotten called to jury duty... another problem with that jury duty... the last weekend in July Cheryl is suppose to be here so was planning on spending a day with her and dd#1 will be here Sunday... my granddaughter and her husband is coming from back East and I sure don't want to miss seeing her I'll be so frustrated ... I'd change it to Sept but that is the month that brother has to take his daughter to drs in SLC. I might see if dd #3 can stay with her then brother can get her and take her to his house... there is one thing if I understood it correctly that I call on Friday to see if I will need to report on the next week if I go to Sioux Falls and then during the week not being needed can perhaps run to Iowa I don't know trying to find something good about it
it's been a normal day
you all have a great day

Late to the party for Sunday! Suffice it to say, it's been a HOT weekend. 109° Saturday and 110° Sunday ! Right now, at almost 1 (I fell asleep in front Of tv and am moving to my bed), it's 81° at almost01 in morning!!
DId not get much done over weekend, other than a morning trip to Costco Saturday morning. No huge plans for week. Do have my ECHOcardiogram Wednesday and keeping fingers crossed I get date for sleep study.
Have a good week everyone.
