Friday June 23

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday June 23

Afternoon Akk, 82°showers t-storms and all around lousy air for me. Che checked whether this modem air quality was excellent. Hurried and put in Food Lion order for early pick up trying to beat beach traffic. Order was ready, air was awful, the heavens opened &#%*. I give up. Used inhaler, put on a mask and risk my life for food. A crazy caused an accident so traffic was backed up on the highway. I managed to take a back road and made it home safe. That’s my good news. I’m in for the weekend and will probate not post because I have nothing. Be safe

Where is every one? Shirl and Sue must be taking the day off.

I had one of my Meetup meals last night. It was at a new restaurant that has only been open a little over a month. The decor looks like they are trying to be up scale but there is a sign when you go in that says to wear what ever makes you comfortable. I guess they figured out that a dress code in South Louisiana doesn’t work. The menus light up and they have robot servers to deliver the orders. The menu is limited in my opinion, compared to most restaurant in Lafayette. It starts off with a 16 oz Ribeye for $50. I had grilled shrimp and pasta. It was ok but not great. They added 20% service charge and acted like we should tip on top of that. I don’t think so.

I got to Lafayette early so had to spend an hour wandering around TJ Maxx. All I bought was cookies, chips and a $6 towel that was on the clearance table. I have been trying to stay out of TJ Maxx. I don’t like the clothes they are making now. Everything is so cheap and I don’t mean the price.

I bought a quiche the last time I went to the store, cut it in fourths and froze it. I defrosted a piece and baked it for lunch. I was afraid it might fall apart but it didn’t. It was very good. I had been thinking about making a quiche but this was easier.

We had a rain shower come thru but doesn’t look like we will get any more rain today. It 93 and the temperature is creeping back up.

Martha, I think you and Shirl posted at the same time.

I have a couple of very smart cats!! A few weeks ago, Romeow got sick, but he went into the litter box to get sick! I was impressed! This morning Sophie went into the litter box to get sick! Good kitties! So much easier to clean up! Then just a few minutes ago, I put down a couple of treats for them (one each). Romeow ate his, but Sophie just batted hers away. Romeow went over and literally picked the treat up in his paw and put it to his mouth to eat! Never seen a cat do that with a piece of dry food!

Romeow's bro-kitty showed up this morning meowing so of course he ran out to the porch window to say hi.

I need to go to WM to pick up a couple things. It is not as hot so far today so I have the windows open yet. Just a light breeze outside.

Need to finish up some things around here that I was working on this week.

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good afternoon. Spent the last 3 days visiting down south and had my Rheumatologist appt, dang I love that man. (he is cute too LOL) He said I was doing so well we are going to put my infusions on hold. We will have a telephone call in 3 months just to make sure and if I get any indication of a flare he will have me come in. I think I will be fine but if I am not I will definitely call him.

Enjoyed my visit with my friend. We went for Mexican food last night and it was soooo good.
It is Food Truck Friday with about 8 food trucks and live music. I wont go today but will try to make it next Friday. My friend wanted me to leave later so I could go to the meet your neighbors lawn party (she lives in my burnt down community) but I dont live there anymore and no plans to move back. I only know a few people that moved back so saw no reason to stay for that. So had a nice drive home. Car unloaded and most things put away. Now going to enjoy my afternoon.

Hi there! I’m still alive and kicking. My sister is still here. It was four months on June 20th. Monday, she had the surgery. She is the proud owner of a platinum coil at the aneurism location and a stent in the artery. She came home on Tuesday. Her surgery was over four and a half hours and they told her it would take several days up to a week before all the effects of the anesthesia leaves her system. She’s feeling pretty good, but still has to see a cardiologist because they feel she may have A-fib even though she wore a monitor for two weeks. They want to insert one with a wire to the heart. Hopefully she can get her stuff moved into her new house within the next couple weeks. She can’t lift anything for 7-10 days.

So, because of everything that has been going on with her I haven’t really done a darn thing and have to admit I’m a little depressed. I’ve been going to the wellness center 4-5 times a week to exercise for an hour. We gifted the 5th wheel to the kids. Dennis isn’t physically strong enough to do the hook up etc. and I wouldn’t feel confident enough to do it. There were tears in my eyes when they pulled away with it. The grands are so excited.

It’s been hot and dry here. We did receive a little shot of rain last night and today, but we’re rated in the severe drought category, so it didn’t really do much more than settle the dust. The cracks in the ground are about an inch wide.

As I’ve told you before, I read the forum every night before I go to bed. I’m not going to reply to any of your posts right now because of brain fog. I have to try to do better posting so I can share my two cents worth on subjects.

Have a good day…. guess it’s just about over.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Pat, sorry life has been so difficult. The wellness center is the best you can do right now. Hang in there, it will get better. ((Hugs)))

Good afternoon - almost evening! We are back in the 80s with threat of rain - I'll believe it when I see it.

Pat, that's a lot going on! Maybe it's our age but seems lots of heart issues among family and acquaintances lately.

Karen, good news about the infusions! My brother had an echocardiogram yesterday and doesn't have to see doctor again for a year! Glad that is done. Sister-in-law finally got a wig and it looks amazing! I decided to try new Bluetooth earbuds to watch TV - so much better even without hearing in my right ear! I've been reading here and just too lazy to post and not really anything to post! Spent a lot of time watching college baseball. I did go to the local nursery yesterday and they have more coming in tomorrow so will go back. Had a great visit with the gal that works there. Have been working at cleaning up the neglected Sling and had a good ride yesterday, too. Had planned to start a Friday weekly cleaning today, but once again, I was so sleepy I had a two hour nap at 11. No reason for it - just happens.

Anita, I forgot to tell you I saw a Sling on a used car lot between here and New Iberia when I went to get my car serviced. I alway think of you when I see one. Someone in Lafayette has one pained LSU purple and gold that I see some times.

Pat, hope your sister heals so she can get in her house. I know you were sad to see the RV go.

I need to go walk since it has cooled off to 89.

Got my two sets of curtains ironed and hung up. They were marked dry clean only, but I washed them, and they are fine. Problem was that the track each was on is screwed to either wall or ceiling in overhead bunk area, so I had to get the ladder and crawl up there with my screwdriver. Had to loosen one end of track, string the clips onto the track and then screw end back down. Not easy to do high things because my left shoulder is sore and i cannot lift that arm up very high. Somehow I managed, except for the one screw at the end, but the curtain will stay up until my son can screw that one screw in.

Rained this morning and due to rain more tonight. Not a strong rain, but more like a drizzle, but we are expected to have rain occasionally over the next few days. I also slept in this morning. I am hoping to take a short walk tomorrow as I need to get out.

I am parked in a kind of strange full-hookup site overlooking the check-in booth and the big parking lot at the entrance. There are only a few other full hookup sites, and most are in a muddy area, plus the rest of the state park is only 20 amps, so this was a good choice in case of hot weather. I think these were originally camp host sites, but good people-watching, at least. (They strung wire for 30 amps this past winter, but did not receive the new hookup posts, so another summer without 30 amps in this very old state park.)

I always feel like it is a win-win if I get at least one item done on that mental list... I finally got the floor mopped yea!!!! I texted my dd's and we are going to meet at the cemetery tomorrow it's hard to believe that it's been 11 years now... for some reason I was thinking it had been 13 but started to do the math and it didn't jive... calculator gave me the answer ...
still hard to believe...
it was a rainy cold day turned on the pellet stove and it was out of pellets so called niece and found out that they were in Lander for the weekend so texted a friend she replied back that her husband was out of town but her grandson's would help out so waited to get mom's shower done till they came and went it's a bit warmer not the warmest but it's just the pits that one has to run the pellet stove in the summer... we got a lot of rain... sorry Pat that it didn't make it to you...
I also called the gal that I bought the robo vacuum from hmmm she says she was hacked and knew nothing about it... do I totally believe her not sure but there isn't a lot I can do about it now... but learn from the experience and be sad that I don't have the robo vacuum
hallmark mysteries and movie has a week of Christmas movies... if it's just a week can live with it I guess..
I started a hat for the great grandson those smaller hooks are just hard on the thumb or it might be that baby afghan that I'm finishing regardless will be glad when I'm back to doing just the one afghan as to the thought of making hats for the family I will ponder that when my hands feel better...
glad you had good news Karen it has to be a relief
you all have a great day
